Does anyone know around what day DK will release Week One contests for NFL?

I always thought it was around the beginning of August

  • siddom

question: when entering the 20 max, what MAX ownership cap is ideal? i was thinking 20% since you get no more than 4 times the player appears in a lineup?

The Colts also have Jalen Morton on the roster and just signed Brett Hundley to go with Eason and Ehlinger.

Hundley is the only one of the four to actually have thrown an NFL pass. Supposedly Eason the 2020 4th rounder will get the QB1 reps in practice but the rumour-mill is swirling that Nick Foles is heading there via trade with Bears.

I hope they do get Foles but hope they don’t have to give up too much.

Agree as I wouldn’t want to pay up for a Foles trade if I’m the Colts but they are not exactly coming from a point of strength and the Bears should be able to get a decent pick in return plus not have to eat any of his contract.

It comes down to personal risk tolerance and bankroll. The 20 max contest are still pretty big and hard to win, so I think a max 20% cap is way to strict since you are just making it harder on yourself. But you can do it if you don’t mind the high risk and use like a small player pool.

I personally like the idea of building around a core; players that will show up in 60%+ of my lineups, which can either be 1-3 team/game stacks or like 3-4 positional players and then I rotate gpp plays around my core. I want to be right about something and then give myself chances to win big when I am right.

How many players do you consider a “core”? I’ve seen people mention this before, is it 3 players or more?

I usually play cash games I’m thinking about diving into the tournaments this year. I’m thinking of either picking my favorite 2 QB of the week and stacking their 1+2 WR and bring back with the other teams WR and go from there. Does this sound decent? Option B, pick 2 QB at the start of the year that I think will go off at least a few weeks of the year and stick to stacking those 2 each week would this be better? Thanks for the input. I’ve taken a good look at last year’s winning millionaire lineups to get an idea of where I need to be. But I don’t plan on playing the milly maker, will be going in mostly single entry tournies.

There’s no one answer since it depends on your own risk, what the slate offers and number of lineups . It’s really just the players you are confident in. I like between 3 (team stack) and up to 5 (game stack).

Either strategy is fine. I mainly use option 1 and think that’s one of the most popular strategy. I am considering option 2 myself. I would pick whatever fits your bankroll strategy, goals and risk tolerance. Option 1 is good if you don’t mind losing a lot and just aiming for multiple spike weeks. Option 2 can probably keep you a float for the season and you get for 1 big win since I am assuming you pick a like the Chiefs who on paper won’t tank your lineup but won’t guarantee a 1st every week either.

Maybe I’m a homer, but I agree. I don’t think there’s oodles of fantasy goodness, but there’s definitely some inefficiency with the prices. The top 6 WRs are $4900, $4600, $3500, $3200, and two at $3000. Then the backfield looks like it’s $4900, $4400, $4200, and $4000. If there’s any concentration of volume, it’d be hard not to get really nice value on at least one. I don’t think this is the same offense as last season where there wasn’t enough fantasy points generated to matter.

Moore and Carter are steals to me.

Moore: I’m super high on, i will play him until he is priced up above like 6k, i get they have davis and crowder and mims as well, but Moore will be the guy all year for Wilson.

Carter: I’m a little bit more hesitant on until i see how they use him, but if they give him the keys he’s another steal at 4k for week 1.

Looking back at last year’s milly lineups, the first 4 weeks followed the QB WR WR, WR format to the T and then never again for the rest of the year. There were some QB WR, WR 2 or 3. Was it the mindset of the lineup builders or just the flow of game play for the year that changed or what?

I’m thinking that’s what people go with early in the year to start, and then they adapt to what the year is bringing?

The winning lineups early were QB/WR1/WR2 and flex WR with one generally being a run back then after that winning lineups mostly had RB in the flex.
