Any update on the DK Handicap Promo? Did they wind up figuring out how many crowns go to each person?

  • TheRyanFlaherty

They were unceremoniously delivered last night.
Not sure they even let you know what your final score was, of at least I didn’t see it.
You can see the reward though by checking the transaction history and the crowns you were rewarded are listed there.

I finished in the highest tier (or at least I should have) and only got 1,838 Crowns. That means 816.1 players reached that tier. Makes no sense.

They need to send out the full picture of how many players finished in each tier and crowns earned. Otherwise they could award less crowns than promised and nobody would ever know.

Haha – I finished each milly in the top 200 during this and wound up in 2nd tier while being profitable most weeks in GPPS.. 431 crowns. GTFO

I played all 11 weeks I think it was, usually hit low to mid 400 points each week, I ended up with an amazing 17 crowns! A bit of a disappointment. Hoped for enough crowns to enter at least 1 contest. Id take a quarter entry even.

we were discussing it in the Wyndham thread.

I never knew where I stood. I played every week, averaged about 12 lineups a week.

    My score was 514.56.

I got 154 crowns which means it was a total waste of my time.

It makes sense. If 816 players made the tier then 1,838 crowns went to each. It was unlikely to fit in the total evenly.

Unless you mean, it doesn’t make sense that 816 players could have made the top level. Maybe so, that’s a lot more than I would have guessed. Doesn’t seem implausible though.

In any case I agree that there was a real lack of information and transparency with this one. I wish DK could have found the manpower to report the results better, at least at the end but would have been better to have the information throughout.

It was extremely easy to make that top level if you wanted to chase it as they only counted your 8 highest scores over an 11 or 12 week period. So if you play 20-50 lineups every week your looking at hundreds of lineups in play with only averaging the top 8. Especially when a few of these tournaments were birdie fests so hitting 600+ scores were common making the 550 average or whatever the top level was was fairly obtainable for the multi entry guys.

This promo had a chance to be good like the MLB big league achievements but I think they failed the most by keeping your status a total secret. All they had to do was add a link to see your current score with maybe a leaderboard to see where you ranked in regards to everyone else. I still to this day don’t even know where I ended up and I played every week. but usually only 1-2 lineups so I am sure I didn’t get the top. Also they should have made it a little harder to hit that top level to really make it worth chasing.

Overall the promo had a chance to be decent but just wasn’t ran very well with the decision to do it completely in the dark.

My bonus made no sense, but since it would be questioning like whether the bonus should be $2 or $4 I just sorta lol’d and let it go. Not their best promo.

They must have messed up your payout or something, wouldn’t over 500 have been one of the highest tiers.
I had over 800 crowns and I don’t think there’s anyway I averaged over 500, as there were the lower scoring tourneys and I had a bad in the past month or so…

Unless there was less people in the lower tier, I dunno? Either way, it didn’t effect my play, so it really was something for nothing, so cc t complain, but the whole promo seems stupid on their end. You’d think the goal of a promo like this would to create engagement and get people playing more to chase goals and higher scores, but you couldn’t really do that since there was no updates/leaderboards, etc.

Would much rather have a big freeroll where someone gets big money than this nonsense

“I can confirm that your PGA Handicap was 514.56. This score put you in the top 3rd tier for this promotion. All users who placed in this tier split a total of 900,000 Crowns, which came out to 154 Crowns per user.”

Basically the third tier got 25 cents and there were four tiers below that.

    Bizarre.

“The bottom tier received 17 crowns each.”

  • dgriff

I just got an email from them saying what tier and how it applied. My stats weren’t that great. 485.25 average score, tier 475-499.5, users in tier 11,042, crowns earned 68.
