Just got an e-mail about this. Also giving players multiple position eligibility.
worst take of all time. Congrats
Would have loved to Swap out Rudy Gay of a late game tonight but I got what deserved for not being around from 5:45 until lock
my grandma has no basement and it’s the reason my girl left me…..the irony of dfs is astounding

Just checking in to say how thankful I am DK made this change. Its by far the best for the longevity of the games. And it removed a lot of the taxing mental strife that feature created. Theres a reason why “Set it and forget it” was a slogan that made Ron Popiel a multi-millionaire!
You forgot to mention that they weigh 400 lbs and live in Russia.
Tyler Johnson Brandon Knight FU No late swap

Is anyone out there against this? I realize some are for it, but that is why Fanduel exists. I rarely played at FD for that very reason. This is not a good thing. This gives a small few who are close to players an extreme advantage when players who are sick do not report it or the team fails to report it. Someone close to these players would have an advantage over others. Never mind that point, but the simple fact I take the time I do to put certain guys in only to find out some guy had a “migraine” in the late game or some guy “suddenly” developed food poisoning and decides not to play…and I can’t change it? We should not be rewarding the lazy. If you play to win, you do your best to pay attention. If a guy sits, you should have the opportunity to replace. Some of us enjoy this enough that we spend our hard earned money on it (please don’t give the budgeting speech), and when we lose a player that we could have replaced we are finished in the GPP tournaments (or any tournament for that matter). This rule ADDS more luck to the game. Skill and responsibility of your entries is managing them aka making sure your guys are in before the game starts. Yes, there are situations where you are going to get screwed because you find out during the game (and not before) that a player was sick so they just played 8 minutes (or one half in Kevin Love case…who suddenly developed food poisoning after playing a phenomenal half).
Anyhow, I’ve read through many opinions that cover both sides. It is just my opinion, but when you pay for a product you should have as many choices as possible. In the case of daily fantasy lineups, you should have the opportunity to protect yourself from as many random acts of nature that occur. You will never be able to eliminate them all, but you should have the “opportunity” to eliminate what you can. This gives the pros who enter 150 lineups or max lineups a considerable advantage. We don’t need to hear the speech about “well you should just play single entry or 50/50s if you can’t handle the multiple entry people” speech. IT has NOTHING to do with this point. You are screwed in the “random acts of NBA players I can’t play even though we tip off in 30 seconds” case no matter what contest you are in. Dream killer…as if it isn’t challenging enough.
I am not looking to get into a debate in this post. Rather, I am looking for support for raising the issue to DraftKings. We should be given the right to vote on whether we want it or not. Why? That is the way IT WAS BEFORE. IT is not something that has been. I would never send anything to FD about this because that is who they are…which is now DK…so DK is now who they are…which blows. Give the people a vote DK!
LMAO…love this game regardless. Happy New Years to all the players out there and best of luck in 2017!
Mod Note: Thread Merged
There is a whole other thread for this.
I think DK is overrated as hell and never make rosters over there because of it

Best decision in the history of DraftKings
Im done im finishing out what I have there and will wait until baseball. They have led me to enjoy the rest of my night by not getting aggravated over migraines. For everyone that thinks you have to follow the news, I was driving when I was alerted about Johnson and Knight and had plenty of time to pull over and swap them out. Since I get to renjoy the full experience I was able to continue to drive and just realize some lineups were wasted.
The word “best” and DK should never be in the same sentence. I personally don’t believe DK has ever made decisions that represent the best interest of its entire customer base.

I’ve played NBA only on DK since 2015 and I have to say, I was concerned about them removing late swap when this season started but after playing w/o it this year, i like being without it way more. I’m a 1 lineup guy and play a dead split of cash and single entry GPPs – hasn’t burnt me once once this year.
Whether or not you favor late swap should have nothing to do with having been burned by it, as over time that aspect of no late swap will affect everyone equally.
Which is different than whether or not you can be burned by not having it, which IMO IS a valid reason, and personal preference.

I enjoy the entire experience more without late swap. Is that a more acceptable answer? sheesh
This thread is proof that neither choice (late swap or no late swap) represents the best interest of their entire customer base. Such a thing does not exist.
also, FD and DK are merging so expect to see more changes Q2 or Q3!
I was against it at first because I am someone who has the time to be there at 9:55 for a late change, while others set their LUs and then go to work, be a dad, etc. So it was an edge for me. I’m OK with now because a) there’s nothing I can do and b) there is some peace with being able to fidget after lock.
It has impacted my decision making though. I rarely have more than one late game player in an all-night slate for fear (perhaps unfounded) of after-lock news. Second and third tier older guys (Zaza) scare me off. Not a huge deal, though, and I just try to construct my LU with the “better safe than sorry” mantra.
Rose just effed people tonight on a 3 game crack slate. I faded him though.
Allowing late swap wouldn’t have made a difference with this one.
He was ruled out about 20 minutes before tip off which was 10 minutes after lock. Anyone that would have been monitoring late scratches would have had time to get him out. He was 31.3% owned in the DK 4 point. I had 100 entries and had him in 30 LU. Not real happy about it since 8 of the 30 cashed with a ZERO from Rose. Still managed to make a profit tonight somehow. With just 20 from Rose would have obviously been a significant amount more.
Rose was in the first game of the slate (7:30pm) if i’m not mistaken and the earliest news I saw on him was at 7:34pm, 4 minutes after lock and to late to do anything about it even with late swap.
Ownersbox app sent a notification at 639 CT, one minute before tip off and 9 minutes after lock, but yes you are right late swap wouldnt have helped you switch out of Rose tonight
You are correct and I am man enough to admit I was wrong. Won’t be the last time. Not good at multi tasking
