Does anyone play these? Is there any way to watch? Is there an edge? I’ve been playing the last couple of days and have min cashed for 25 cents.

The Sims are free to enter. If you don’t like them, just don’t play them. DK doesn’t have to do anything at all.

Damn! NBA sim is super accurate today! It has me in 36000 the place which is around my average!!

Yep, been pretty much finishing the same as I did in regular showdown contests.

I’m even worse at sims than I am at regular DFS.

Sorry for leaving you guys hanging last night! Here’s a more open-wide look at my results:

    Big Boomers:

Robby Anderson: High of 22.3, an average of 13.46. He’s going to be one of my favorite plays on the slate due to his ability to break out big, slate-breaking scores. If you can score 20 points in these showdown sims, you’re making money.

John Brown: High of 26.6, an average of 10.14. He’s a huge boom or bust play even more so than Anderson. The rapport between him and Allen seems to disappear and 3 out of 5 simulations he scored single-digit scores, including a goose egg.

    QB Center:

Josh Allen: High of 24.7, an average of 15.3. He seems to be about where you’d want a QB to be scoring in these simulations. His rushing upside is very real and only in one simulation did he score less than 10 FP.

Sam Darnold: High of 17.64, an average of 9.88. His passing stats typically top Allen, but his rushing upside is limited and in this game that can prove lethal. Anderson’s success is highly correlated to Darnold’s, so pair the two if you’re interested in running Darnold.

    Quirky Plays:

Robert Foster: High of 17.2, an average of 10.44. In Madden, Allen loves Foster. He’s a bargain bin play that was not absent in any of my runs. Players like Jamison Crowder and even John Brown had 0 points in a simulation, so sometimes consistency doesn’t have to come at a premium.

Chris Herndon: High of 13.3, an average of 9.1. Sometimes TE’s don’t get targeted in these simulations, but Herndon was a consistent presence. He was the 8th most consistent player in my simulations and comes at a price that isn’t prohibitive in the least.

Dawson Knox: High of 15.6, an average of 6.5. He’s the counter-Herndon: if you want more of a ceiling play, he can be that GPP-winner you’re looking for. I respect the ceiling, but I think I’d rather roster Herndon.

    Defenses and Kickers:

Both defenses exhibited similar ceilings but the Bills D/ST is the more reliable option, averaging 3 more points per game on average. Kickers are the inverse, with the Jet’s Ficken exhibiting a higher average than Buffalo’s Hauschka. Pick your poison on this one.

    Not Touching:

Jamison Crowder: High of 6.6, an average of 4.1. He may be a volume receiver in real life, but his volume in Madden simulations is sorry. Unless he does something totally different, I’m not prioritizing him at all.

    Very well written, Thank you.

  • Messiah717

These simulations are turning just plain stupid. The last two have been absurd.

  • Smallchimp

That was a tough break, I didn’t have any sims that went that way and neither defense had nearly that level of domination. Onto the next one.

  • ifthethunder

Played the Buffalo DST, not the Jests. Back to the drawing board.

If nothing else these NFL sims have confirmed what and absolute embarrassment the Madden franchise is as a simulation football game

TBF these games are meant to be played with at least one human player, I can’t imagine there’s consumer-grade AI that’d be able to very accurately mimic actual football games between two computer-operated teams

I think there’s some truth to that, but devils advocate…
This is especially true with football…The user is only controlling one player at a given time, so that means at any given time you have 10 players governed by the simulation/CPU logic and for the game to play properly they theoretically should be performing close to their real life counterparts.
Also, if it’s single player vs CPU. The CPU opponent should be, again, providing a reasonable facsimile of what that team should be doing.
So I would argue that a quality football game should be able to simulate games, in real time, reasonably well. But then again that sort of thing does not matter as much in competitive modes, and certainly not in Ultimate team…and that’s where the money is, so that’s where the priorities will lie.

I had the Pitt D, but not in captain. So not close to cashing, but at least I finally had the right DST.

Had it going early in the jax game but played den def as my only den player. What was i thinking? My 5 team train missed cashing by .05.

  • ifthethunder

So Matt Stafford is on the roster for the Lions? I’m not sure what to do with this.

P.S. Now we know. Play both Stafford and Trubisky, with Tarik Cohen at captain. I finished out of the money, but won a quarter in the Lakers – Celtics roundball.

I had a Jared Goff, err Goof captain lineup. Didn’t realize it needed Todd Gurley and Tyreek Hill to make it work.

We completely understand that there is a range of different appetites our users have for DFS offerings. If the simulated games aren’t for you, that’s okay. We encourage you to check out the other new DFS offerings we’ve launched over the last few weeks such as CS:GO and Rocket League.

Thats not all… our free to play pools have been a big hit, with tons of press = lots of new players which is good for everyone. For our TV fans, we’ve got Survivor & MTV Challenge, Chopped & Top Chef for the foodies, Harry Potter for the bookworms, and even weather pools over at https://sportsbook.draftkings.com/pools – everyone jump in the pool!

Of course if your focus is on eSports, we have a full slate of CS:GO contests available here: https://www.draftkings.com/lobby#/CS:GO

We do not offer paid DFS contests for Madden simulations at this time. Daily Fantasy Simulated Games such as Madden have not been approved as a game of skill by industry regulators.

man i was watching tonight and the Madden game just plain sux..you would think after all these years they would have player movements nailed down a lot better and the game has ZERO bells and whistles..i wish NFL2k was still around

  • TheRyanFlaherty

    ^
NFL2K is coming back, but In the ultimate irony, they won’t be allowed to make a simulation game.
What they’ll be making instead is anyone’s guess…
    Maybe like a street/arcade game???
Either way, it sucks and seems counterintuitive that the brand associated with being a quality sim football title won’t be allowed to produce that while the company who seems to prioritize casual play, ultimate teams, micro transactions and other forms of bullshit will continue to be allowed to.

And I am aware that last statement is likely wishful thinking, and the sim 2k experience that is romanticized is from a time that may no longer exist, and that a 2020 2k “sim” game may very well come with all the same b.s. as Madden…but either way, it would be nice to find out for sure, and at the very least competition shouldn’t hurt the situation.

I actually won one yesterday, the Bal Pitts showdown. Won $92, more than I won on any day during the regular NFL season lol
