    NBA Cash games

I have played professionally for 7 years. With this nick i have made over 60,000 in the last year.

If you want to be a winner on fantasy sports…..

you need to do the following:

    1. Make sure your players are going to make 5x your money on a player (for example if Mario Chamblers cost $5k he needs to make you 25 fantasy points…

    2. Its not about the over/under number….. the player needs to make you the points!!! (I could care less if the game ends up 85-80 if my 3k player ends up with 10 pts. 10 reb.)

    3. Look at match-ups (any PG going against CLE is going to score big)

    4. Stop your spreadsheets/heavy reasearch….it doesn’t predict how a player is going to do on a daily basis

    5. I will release my NBA line up tomorrow to show you…

    Absolutely groundbreaking advice…Thanks!

    1) Mario Chamblers is never going to score in the NBA…however, Mario Chalmers scored 42 FD points for me tonight.

    2) The over/under is just one of many research tools. Yes, a value play in a low o/u game could provide fantasy value.

    3) Match-ups are key, however they don’t always play out. I’m sure a PG will have a dud performance against CLE this year.

    4) Research and a personal projection system is the only way to succeed long term in DFS.

    5) I hope you have a winning lineup tomorrow…unless you play me.

    281.5 Wasn’t that good?…..cashed in EVERY contest I was in….

I bet on Point Given once, it didn’t work out for me. To be fair, I gave up on him after that and he did go on to win the Preakness and the Belmont. I still blame Gary Stevens for the loss.

    Yeah Gary even blames Gary….

I didn’t bet on him much either, I like getting more then .20 to my dollar….

This poor guy better post a 350 point lineup today. The bar is getting fairly high.

Shooting for 250, that will be good enough to cash in 50/50’s and Head to Head….

  • xynny

lol you guys are so mean to pointgiven. his advice isn’t bad, but maybe it is a bit basic.

  • FkCoolers

#2 on his list is something I think a lot of newer players do overlook, though. They just target the highest over/unders without regard to what ball distribution, minutes, and usage could be.

  • y2mulder

Live and die by #1. If a player cant hit 5x, he is off the board. I have done very well this year using that simple math.

  • hoffs812

ok i am new to this…been playing since the beginning of this current season…how can u really judge if a player will hit 5x

Simple answer: Take the salary, and chop it down to the first number (or 2) into simple dollars. And $8000 player is $8. A 9500 player is $9.50

$8 player would need 40 points to make 5x value. A $9.50 player would need 47.5 points.

At this point, the homework really kicks in. You can look at avg points per game, and add 10-20% if a defense is soft….and vice versa. Other factors can influence your “projected points”, such as diminished minutes in a blowout. The RG incentives have an EXCELLENT page dedicated to this.
    ————

Here is a real example. Ty Lawson plays tonight, and is $8.80 on DK. I need 44 to make 5x and make my radar, but he only has an avg of 38.8 over the last 6 games. Meh.

BUT WAIT!! He plays the Lakers tonight, who can not defend against the French Army. And the Vegas line is just 1 point, meaning Ty should get all his minutes in (And maybe even OT!!). So, the projection goes to 45-50, and 5x is now easily in reach.

Hope that all makes sense. Because, you know…my DK NFL action got wiped out today, and I have plenty of time to type :)

Where’s this lineup we all speak of?

    Glad you asked….

Playing a couple line ups, both should cash……Mainly playing 50/50’s on DK…..waiting to hear if Boozer is playing….

    SF position is tough….

    #1
PG – Mario Chalmers (Not expecting what he did last night but should see around 30 fp)
SG – Swaggy P (Young should easily exceed 5x value tonight)
SF – Iguodala (been playing well, and should get decent minutes tonight)
PF – Sullinger (should hit 5x value)
C – Gasol (will have his way with Jordan/last year put up 23pt 9reb 8asst)
    G – Lillard (easily hits 5x value)
F – Ed Davis (If Boozer is out, should get plenty of run)
Util – Reggie Jackson (will have a big game against Curry)

    #2
    PG – Napier
    SG – Swaggy P
    SF – Igoudala
    PF – Aldridge
    C – Gasol
    G – Lillard
    F – Davis
    Util – Jackson

Chalmers will be heavily owned, I actually think Napier will have an easier time hitting value.

  • y2mulder

All right gang, pick away. I will start with Iguodala.

I scored 250.25 last night in DK cash and cashed nothing.

With that said, you seem to be an ok or maybe above average player Pointgiven but your “points given” are all over the map. You are trying to be specific with your advice then the next point is general then the next point goes against the previous point. Either be general with your advice or be much more careful with your specific advice. Fun thread though, LOL.

    last night was crazzzzzzzzy tho.

i’m not a huge fan of igoudala or sullinger tonight, at least on fanduel. i’m all aboard the ed davis bandwagon though. going to be an insanely fast paced game tonight with lots of shots taken. love your other picks though

  • duder500

Swaggy P is crapping all over your night, and Iggy was just overthinking. You had some great picks too, but nothing I can’t read in a Grind Down with a lot more humility.

  • rebkell

Well, I haven’t got access to any 50/50’s on DK, but his scores are in the money and just out of the money on the quarter arcade gpp. Unless this Laker/Denver OT goes nutzo, it looks like they ought to cash in 50/50’s.

  • SmoothJuice33

One of my 50/50’s is a crazy high cutoff right now. Jumped 8 spots because of OT. C’mon DOUBLE OT!

  • y2mulder

BREAKING: Lineup sucessfully beats Condia and his 198 points tonight.

Tomorrows brag post might take hours to read.

  • Pointgiven

    Team 1 – 266
    Team 2 – 248.5

    70 Cash games played/66 wins

    6 GPP’s/1 win :(

That OT cost me a few bucks….

    Cya tomorrow

  • Nerdatcooltable

I have been guilty of just staking high over/under games. I also reach a lot and make terrible picks just to fit a certain player.
