Hey, I just would like to get a populated consensus of a typical Re-Verification of a DraftKings Account:

Here’s the deal: I had created my DraftKings account back in 2013 practically without an issue. I began playing and as I got better I played more. Needless to say I began playing regularly just about every day there was a slate I had an interest in. I began to start playing more as the seasons changed and other sports were in season.

So Basically I had began to play regularly and much more often for 2+ solid years. Then the state I live in was banned from playing on the site and I believe fantasy sports all together. So I took a leave and continued on finding other things to do. The point I am making is my account was being used regularly, not overly heavy use nor was it ever dormant.

Then the account lockout. I went to log in one morning and I was locked out of my account and had a hell of a time getting all my funds withdrawn. It took a couple of weeks to actually extract all my funds. I wasn’t thrilled.

Fast forward to “We want you back as a player we’re all legal now” Alright. I had a bad taste with the way we in the states that were ‘temporarily banned” were dropped… it was more about how it was put and how it was stated. Plus I was a little honked off about the difficulty in extracting my funds.

After being bombarded with numerous emails to come back and play fantasy sports on DraftKings for a couple of months I decided to start playing again.

I was able to log into my original account that I had created back in 2013, location verification wasn’t an issue. I picked my contest, players and went to submit and a pop up appears and asks to verify me. Alright so I verify. I get no confirmation of this and after about 20 seconds it’s asking for more information… I feed it a little more… same thing…. no confirmation can’t verify me.

Nothing whatsoever had changed from the very last time I played until I wanted to play again with my account.

I contact support via email… I explain in detail what was happening and ask support if they can move this along and advise me as to why exactly this was happening.

I was advised after 2 chat sessions and 4 emails that I need to submit a government issued photo ID plus a current utility bill in addition to all the personal information that I needed to submit without receiving any confirmation of record. I was told that there was no fraudulent suspicion, but rather it was in my best interest to maintain the integrity of my account going forward. I never heard of such an asinine thing before. Nobody takes phone calls so there’s no speaking directly with anyone to resolve any issues there may be.

The reason for this long winded post is to see if anyone else that had their account banned until the AG declared DFS legal again has been asked to submit the same personal information (Gov issued photo ID and Current Utility bill) to get their account active again. I think it’s complete BS and I would like to see if this is an isolated issue or is this is now the norm.

Thanks in advance for your input

WOW man, that is a load of unreal crap you’ve been through.
I can’t recall if it was DK or FD, but I swear once on one or the other I had to give an ID, maybe it was for some other site…I’ve never heard of your situation and I can’t believe DRAFT KINGS is asking you for a current utility bill — tell them u live in a TENT

Never had that happen to me before but I do have a helluva time on Rosters. It seems I get bumped off all of the time and have to submit a “Forgot Password” request and wait for a new code key. It sometimes happens in the middle of a session that I was logged into, but always when I log in the next day. It’s annoying as hell since it’s so frequent and many times it takes so long to get the new code, that it expires before I can submit and here we go again!

The problem it sounds like to that at some point in time you created a 2nd account. Does that sound accurate..I could be wrong but the way you worded

makes me think you did. Which in this industry is a huge nono. So, if that’s the case this could be the reason they are hounding you.

No ologh. I had created only the one account and never even attempted to create another DK account. I don’t even have an account or play on any other fantasy sites just DraftKings.

Seriously, it sounds absolutely ridiculous. I had originally thought that there were some underlying glitches, server side, on their (DraftKings) behalf, but then as time went on and I received no additional assistance from their (DraftKings) “support desk” it began to irritate me.

The last encounter with DK support I asked if there was someone who I could just speak with on a phone line to understand exactly what was taking place behind the scenes and get the issue resolved promptly. The response was to reply to my request with a hyperlink to upload a Gov Issued photo ID and a utility bill.

I can’t make any sense of this, especially since being a dedicated player for the time I had been playing, never abusing or even pushing the rules or terms. I still have over 8K DK dollars / points resting in my account that I have accumulated. That’s one reason that I am a little reluctant to have my account closed and start from scratch.

Another reason: What’s to say this doesn’t happen once again. I have no receipt of the information I had already submitted. I don’t even know where it went, who has access to it or the security of my privacy. The closest I came to getting some sort of answer in one of my emails was that the information was sent to a remote server in which no-one had access to. Seriously?!!
Like having a remote conversation about financial strategies with a 3 year old.

Hey, I’m an honest person with a high degree of integrity and ethics.

Initially I was only looking to have a little fun competing with some like minded people in a common interest.

What I’m being asked to submit on account of having a little fun and perhaps loosing a little bit of capital / maybe even win some is utterly ridiculous.

Once again, the reason I decided to write this post was to see how many people (if any) were requested to do the same as is being done with me.

It didn’t sound feasible to me when the initial request was made, I doesn’t sound like the right thing now and it certainly won’t sound tangible going forward.

Didn’t mean to turn this into a semi rant, but come on man… it just ain’t right. This isn’t the way to treat a loyal customer.

Verification procedures which include ID shouldn’t be a cause for concern.

It’s commonplace at many online sites where users make large deposits and withdrawals (e.g. gambling sites).

I don’t see anything “BS” about it.
