    DraftKings and DraftStreet Join Forces

Today, we are excited to announce that DraftKings has acquired DraftStreet, bringing together the two best products in daily fantasy. For the past several days, we have watched as many speculated, not just about whether the rumors were true but also about the reasons why. Let me be clear on one point – the one and only reason why DraftKings and DraftStreet are teaming up is that we believe we are a better company combined than separate. Yes, userbase and liquidity will grow, but more importantly we are bringing together two great teams that will work hard to infuse everything you love about DraftStreet and DraftKings into one incredible experience. Please remember, of course, that this cannot happen overnight. Things like snake drafts, pick’ems, and an improved loyalty program as well as new sports like soccer are in the future plans, but these take time to create and will need to be prioritized along with the rest of the features we are working on. But rest assured that the plan is to bring all the great elements of DraftStreet over to DraftKings so we can deliver to you the most amazing experience in daily fantasy sports.

Later tonight, we will be launching a process on DraftStreet.com by which you can migrate your account over to DraftKings. Once that is live, you will be able to access all of your funds immediately using this process, including withdrawals. Between now and then, please be patient with us while we get this up and running. As part of this launch, we will be offering any new DK players a 100% deposit bonus on transferred funds, and we will also be offering that bonus again when you make your first deposit on DK. For players who are already on DK, we will be offering you a 25% bonus on transferred funds if you have a DraftStreet account. If you don’t have a DraftStreet account, we will still make the 25% bonus available to you whenever you make your next deposit. Be on the lookout for an email with instructions on how to redeem it. If for some reason you don’t receive that email, just send a note to support@draftkings.com and we will send you a link to redeem the bonus.

As always, if you have questions about your account, please contact support@draftkings.com. If questions are posted here, we will do our best to answer them, but please use the standard support channel for fastest response. The customer experience team will be working overtime all week in order to help respond as immediately as possible to any inquiries.

In closing, I want to thank all of our loyal DK players and also welcome all the new DraftStreet players to DraftKings. Our work is never done when it comes to bringing you the best possible experience in daily fantasy sports, and joining forces with DraftStreet today is another huge step in that direction.

One Question, what about the DSBC?

Not only that but what about the Big Score British Open this week? I have a voucher for it

All vouchers will be converted to DK site credits with the exception of the DSBC. Players with DSBC entries will be receiving separate emails shortly with details about how those tickets will be administered.

“In the end what players should see is a combination of both sites,” Robins said. “It’s not going to happen overnight, but the goal is not to just bring the users over, it’s to bring all the elements of DraftStreet.”

Could Draftstreet users have asked for anything more? I think not. Great news if it pans out.

Most important: What is going to happen to all those bitchin’ DraftStreet sprite ballpoint pens? I shoulda burned my street creds before the shutdown.

    DraftKings Team

    Hey Guys,

First, I want to thank all DraftStreet members for your loyalty over the years. It’s amazing looking back at everything we’ve done, and I am grateful to have had this experience.

While it is hard to see DraftStreet go, I am excited to join forces with the DraftKings team. Together, we plan to take aspects from each site and create the best product possible. We’ll be working to take elements that you know and love about DraftStreet and integrate them into the DraftKings games.

We’re just getting started, but I think the DraftStreet influence will become noticeable in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you take advantage of the huge prize pools and increased action on DraftKings.

I would think that the DSBC is one of the first things that needs to be addressed here… given that the qualifiers were about 2/3 done and now they are kind of in limbo.

Just curious about taxes during the account balance transfers. Will any transfers be considered a deposit in the tax formula for this year and if we do withdraw some from DS will that be sent on a DS 1099 or a DK 1099? Thanks and congrats on the huge merger!

Completely agreed… Also considering the results of the latest Q weren’t even posted on their DSBC link and the entries (at least mine) weren’t showing in my account yet.

I won a British Open voucher so I better get an entry in the Draftkings $20…idk what DK credits are but it better be the same as a voucher

  • BKLionKing

Will DS points be able to be converted? Or at least vouchers purchased?

^^Very important question. Will both entities issue 1099s (DS through today, DK thereafter) or will DS records be integrated into a single 1099 from DraftKings?

You know who the big loser is in all this right? Any affiliate who referred a huge volume player to DS. I’m sure that opens a lot of other issues too. Specifically talking RG but I’m assuming anyone who purchased DS incentives switches to a different site.

so draftstreet is dead and there’s no pga big score event there this weekend?

I think its a bit of a mis-step by you guys to allow people to think this tourney was going on, i get that there is a lot of tournies on draftkings for pga this weekend but a lot of people, myself included were looking forward to the variety between sites…

don;t appreciate the cloak and dagger and sudden cancellation of tournies that have been advertised for weeks in advance

How will compensation for affiliates and recruits be transferred over? If my DS affiliates are not yet DK users, will I receive compensation for their play when it transfers to DK?

Will be interested to see how this is incorporated.

In my opinion, the two user bases seem very different, Draftstreet has a lot of guys who really like to have the option of snake/pickem. Hopefully draftkings quickly implements some of these things

I agree the sale should of been announced but have draftstreet function until the end of the dfbc final which is still before week 1 of the nfl season. Makes the most sense to me to avoid confusion over the dfbc qualifiers and other tournaments announced

    1. All vouchers are being converted to DK$ at 100% of their cash value

    2. Anyone with a DSBC entry has been contacted separately via email to make sure everyone is comfortable with the resolution.

Can someone confirm the DSBC? I’ve heard people saying it may be cancelled. Looking for official confirmation here.

  • sjfx19

    email i got

    Hey Guys,

In case you have not yet heard, DraftStreet has been acquired by DraftKings and as part of the acquisition all customers will be moving to DraftKings. As one of the qualifiers to the 2014 DSBC I need to inform you that the event will take place as scheduled as DraftKings already has their own championship event.

Please rest assured that no matter the resolution of the DSBC you will always have the option to convert your ticket(s) to cash at their full value of $27,000. We are currently evaluating a potential solution to allow for DSBC qualifiers to qualify for DraftKings Fantasy Baseball Championship at Atlantis later in August. Within a few days you will receive another email from Jonathan Aguiar with more details and an opportunity for you to give your input on how you would prefer to see the DSBC resolved.

Thank you for your patience in this matter and please feel free to email me at any time to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

They had not yet added the results of the last Super Q to the DSBC page yet.

Since I won my seat in that qualifier, I’m guessing that’s why I did not receive this email. You might want to make sure those five winners get included.
