    DraftKings and DraftStreet Join Forces

Today, we are excited to announce that DraftKings has acquired DraftStreet, bringing together the two best products in daily fantasy. For the past several days, we have watched as many speculated, not just about whether the rumors were true but also about the reasons why. Let me be clear on one point – the one and only reason why DraftKings and DraftStreet are teaming up is that we believe we are a better company combined than separate. Yes, userbase and liquidity will grow, but more importantly we are bringing together two great teams that will work hard to infuse everything you love about DraftStreet and DraftKings into one incredible experience. Please remember, of course, that this cannot happen overnight. Things like snake drafts, pick’ems, and an improved loyalty program as well as new sports like soccer are in the future plans, but these take time to create and will need to be prioritized along with the rest of the features we are working on. But rest assured that the plan is to bring all the great elements of DraftStreet over to DraftKings so we can deliver to you the most amazing experience in daily fantasy sports.

Later tonight, we will be launching a process on DraftStreet.com by which you can migrate your account over to DraftKings. Once that is live, you will be able to access all of your funds immediately using this process, including withdrawals. Between now and then, please be patient with us while we get this up and running. As part of this launch, we will be offering any new DK players a 100% deposit bonus on transferred funds, and we will also be offering that bonus again when you make your first deposit on DK. For players who are already on DK, we will be offering you a 25% bonus on transferred funds if you have a DraftStreet account. If you don’t have a DraftStreet account, we will still make the 25% bonus available to you whenever you make your next deposit. Be on the lookout for an email with instructions on how to redeem it. If for some reason you don’t receive that email, just send a note to support@draftkings.com and we will send you a link to redeem the bonus.

As always, if you have questions about your account, please contact support@draftkings.com. If questions are posted here, we will do our best to answer them, but please use the standard support channel for fastest response. The customer experience team will be working overtime all week in order to help respond as immediately as possible to any inquiries.

In closing, I want to thank all of our loyal DK players and also welcome all the new DraftStreet players to DraftKings. Our work is never done when it comes to bringing you the best possible experience in daily fantasy sports, and joining forces with DraftStreet today is another huge step in that direction.

Hopefully they add snake drafts. It is a great way to bring in new people especially for football since they’re so familiar with snaking in their own personal leagues

I hope Draft Kings runs some Big Scores. I really liked those tournaments on Draft Street because of that mid level buy in.

    Yes.

Loved Big Scores across all sports at $22. I will miss those.

Doubt you see any Street style anything on DK for a little while until liquidity improves. Then their offerings will expand but until then my guess is the additions/changes will be minor.

Yep that looks like the reality. Business as usual.

    I would agree with this.

DK is not going to beat FD catering to the best DFS players in the world. They will do it by catering to the worst, which means, looser caps, lesser roster positions, etc.

Anyone holding out hope that any form of DS’s pricing or roster positions needs simply start looking elsewhere.

i hated ds salaries i hope they dont adpot them i just want my snake drafts

    …so exactly what Fanduel does?

As someone who has been through two companies who have been bought out it is naive to think that DK would all of a sudden adopt everything from DS. Usually a company covets one or two things that a competitor does. While the player base is obvious even DK isn’t stupid enough to think that everyone from DS will go to them but alot of time it is worth just to essentially pay to make someone go away especially if there isn’t someone that can easily come in and take their place in the market on the same scale.

Like any of the ones I have been through the people who come over are essentially on a 3 to 6 month job interview. While companies say they are bringing you on in reality they only need all of the people for the transition and then keep a few that fit in with them.

Tough to say if they will implement the pricing. While they aren’t commenting I am sure they already know what they want to implement and I would be shocked if they didn’t add snake drafts and Soccer. Those would be the two obvious things that will make money, not diminish their existing product and be a hit long term.

Other than that it would be wishful thinking to assume they will add much more as they already have a successful product.

Honestly this has been my opinion the whole time. Dk will buy the company use up the staff to add snakes/pick ems and soccer and then get rid of them. I do beleave them when they say they will have expert games because not only do they have beginner games already but for NFL FD has beginner/normal/expert so its obvious they’d do it to compete with FD and when you add snakes/pick ems/soccer to the mix DK would be the defacto #1 site imo

We did run two $60k contests at $20 for the British Open, they may not be called the big score but it seems you might see a lot more in terms of big ~$20 games on DK in the future.

FanDuel does not really have beginner and expert contests except it name only. Salary cap is the only difference between the normal FD contests and those named beginner and expert.

The only other big sites to have real “beginner” level contests are DK and DD, who allow those with 50 or less contests played in a sport to play against others will 50 or less contests played. At FD, anyone can play anyone in those other contests, whether they’ve played 30 or 3000.

Ever since this acquisition, I have not received emails from DK summarizing my daily/nightly wins.

    Anyone else notice this?

Typical DS move. At least they’re merging with a real daily sport site.

For those nay-sayers, DK just posted a survivor game in the lobby. They merged a week ago and you’re already seeing DS influence in the game offerings!

    Well done, gentlemen.

I was excited to play until i noticed that they are still allowing players to enter 20 times. You would think that with all the new players brought in they could fill a 210 person contest with out the need of 4 players potentially having 40% of the entries.

DK? Do you guys really think this would not fill with 5 max entries????

They may have just been protecting themselves being that it’s the first time they offered it. It’s about to fill four hours before lock though and three people have 10 entries. I’d assume that they’ll adjust the max entries as they find the right balance.

They have run this type at least once before if not more. And since when has DK been afraid of a little over lay?? Hope you are right and they adjust the max entries when they run it again. But history has proven they are more likely to just increase both the size of the contest and the max entries allowed.

Not going to lie, it’s a breath of fresh air seeing the much higher GPP’s for us mid-range players on DraftKings($20-$100) for both MLB and PGA.

I think DK needs to run Guaranteed Tournaments at the $2 and $5 level that have 1K-2K entrants.

I don’t like these Tournies where you have to compete against 9-11k people to have a chance to win anything.

    just my 2c

The $5 Flare has 1150 spots today.

  • RST1123

Yes I must have missed this one, maybe they just opened it up after I made my post. Either way yesterday for example I didnt notice a tourny with less than 10.8k people. I notice that sometimes there is a 2K entrant $2 entry fee and 1K entrant $5 entry fee, I would just like to see it every day.

  • The1WhoKnocks

Anyone else surprised by the size of the PGA game?

With DS acquisition, I would have figured a nice boost in PGA players and maybe even a $500k game from DK.
