    DraftKings and DraftStreet Join Forces

    Today, we are excited to announce that DraftKings has acquired DraftStreet, bringing together the two best products in daily fantasy. For the past several days, we have watched as many speculated, not just about whether the rumors were true but also about the reasons why. Let me be clear on one point – the one and only reason why DraftKings and DraftStreet are teaming up is that we believe we are a better company combined than separate. Yes, userbase and liquidity will grow, but more importantly we are bringing together two great teams that will work hard to infuse everything you love about DraftStreet and DraftKings into one incredible experience. Please remember, of course, that this cannot happen overnight. Things like snake drafts, pick’ems, and an improved loyalty program as well as new sports like soccer are in the future plans, but these take time to create and will need to be prioritized along with the rest of the features we are working on. But rest assured that the plan is to bring all the great elements of DraftStreet over to DraftKings so we can deliver to you the most amazing experience in daily fantasy sports.

    Later tonight, we will be launching a process on DraftStreet.com by which you can migrate your account over to DraftKings. Once that is live, you will be able to access all of your funds immediately using this process, including withdrawals. Between now and then, please be patient with us while we get this up and running. As part of this launch, we will be offering any new DK players a 100% deposit bonus on transferred funds, and we will also be offering that bonus again when you make your first deposit on DK. For players who are already on DK, we will be offering you a 25% bonus on transferred funds if you have a DraftStreet account. If you don’t have a DraftStreet account, we will still make the 25% bonus available to you whenever you make your next deposit. Be on the lookout for an email with instructions on how to redeem it. If for some reason you don’t receive that email, just send a note to support@draftkings.com and we will send you a link to redeem the bonus.

    As always, if you have questions about your account, please contact support@draftkings.com. If questions are posted here, we will do our best to answer them, but please use the standard support channel for fastest response. The customer experience team will be working overtime all week in order to help respond as immediately as possible to any inquiries.

    In closing, I want to thank all of our loyal DK players and also welcome all the new DraftStreet players to DraftKings. Our work is never done when it comes to bringing you the best possible experience in daily fantasy sports, and joining forces with DraftStreet today is another huge step in that direction.

    You know who the big loser is in all this right? Any affiliate who referred a huge volume player to DS. I’m sure that opens a lot of other issues too. Specifically talking RG but I’m assuming anyone who purchased DS incentives switches to a different site.

    We’ll have a post up to clarify how this affects DraftStreet Grinders Incentives sometime during the All-Star break!

    How will compensation for affiliates and recruits be transferred over? If my DS affiliates are not yet DK users, will I receive compensation for their play when it transfers to DK?

    +1 to this. It would be nice if DS recruits that created DK accounts were transfered to become a DK affiliate.

    2nd… will street cred be transferred to DK FPPs?

    3rd… congrats on the acquisition.

    Just curious about taxes during the account balance transfers. Will any transfers be considered a deposit in the tax formula for this year and if we do withdraw some from DS will that be sent on a DS 1099 or a DK 1099? Thanks and congrats on the huge merger!

    Players will receive both a 1099 from DraftStreet (Skyllzone) and from DraftKings.

    DraftKings will also provide a cumulative net winnings number that you can use for your taxes and provide to your tax professional. At the end of the day we expect everyone’s tax liability to be the same as it would have been had you only played on DraftKings.

    If you have any questions about taxes, to the extent that we can, we’ll provide support for our customers.

    email i got

    Hey Guys,

    In case you have not yet heard, DraftStreet has been acquired by DraftKings and as part of the acquisition all customers will be moving to DraftKings. As one of the qualifiers to the 2014 DSBC I need to inform you that the event will take place as scheduled as DraftKings already has their own championship event.

    Please rest assured that no matter the resolution of the DSBC you will always have the option to convert your ticket(s) to cash at their full value of $27,000. We are currently evaluating a potential solution to allow for DSBC qualifiers to qualify for DraftKings Fantasy Baseball Championship at Atlantis later in August. Within a few days you will receive another email from Jonathan Aguiar with more details and an opportunity for you to give your input on how you would prefer to see the DSBC resolved.

    Thank you for your patience in this matter and please feel free to email me at any time to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

    Correction:

    As one of the qualifiers to the 2014 DSBC I need to inform you that the event will not take place as scheduled as DraftKings already has their own championship event.

    I’d like to personally thank Mark and DraftStreet for everything they’ve done for the industry and having the sharpest and most dynamic game around. I haven’t had much of a bad word to say about DS in the three years I’ve played there. It’s truly been a pleasure doing business with them daily.

    I’m saddened to see DS leave but encouraged from what I’ve been told that basically their whole management team is moving over to DK with this transaction. Although it obviously won’t be the same game I don’t think the DS vision will be lost.

    Would love to have more clarification on the Street Cred conversion. Because a straight conversion of accumulated points without accounting for the end of month multiplier would be off. I had 30,000 points thus far this month and was easily on pace for platinum. Am I going to just eat all the points that I would gotten when I reached it?

    Colindew & Futureoffantasy,

    1. All affiliates and recruits will keep their recruits as they create new accounts on DraftKings.

    2. Street Creds will be converted to FPP’s at the best possible rate to customers, and we’ve applied the Street Cred reward to each customer, pro-rated for half a month.

    3. Thank you!

    You will be prorated through the month and then the multiplier will be applied.

    Silver = 2,500 – 7499 street creds (2x multiplier)
    Gold = 7,500 – 24,999 (3x)
    Platinum = 25,000+ (4x)

    Please feel free to reach out to customer service if you feel your conversion is not correct when you migrate over to DraftKings from DraftStreet.

    so draftstreet is dead and there’s no pga big score event there this weekend?

    I think its a bit of a mis-step by you guys to allow people to think this tourney was going on, i get that there is a lot of tournies on draftkings for pga this weekend but a lot of people, myself included were looking forward to the variety between sites…

    don;t appreciate the cloak and dagger and sudden cancellation of tournies that have been advertised for weeks in advance

    by the way u could completely make up for this by having a 1mill guaranteed tourney for the PGA in August…

    Looking forward to bigger and better things on DK, it is the best run DFS site by far…

  • tipster808

    I recognize this may not be possible, but is there a timeline on this?

    “Things like snake drafts, pick’ems, and an improved loyalty program as well as new sports like soccer are in the future plans, but these take time to create and will need to be prioritized along with the rest of the features we are working on.”

    Is this by football? Or longer? The language seems to imply it could be a while before we see these game formats again.

    Interested to see how this pans out in the long run, I will miss DS, I like the differences over there in certain sports. But DK has always been my number one site so look forward to see the positive impact this makes.

    will DS’s higher percentage of bonus payout and lower amount of GPP rake be applied to future DK contests?

    It’s nice to take a step back and remember how far we’ve come. Meanwhile, we really are excited to see what we can accomplish going forward combining efforts with DraftKings.

    RIP DS. Sad day. Was probably my favorite site of late and the only site not blocked by my work firewall other than Draft Day.

    I hope DS brings it’s customer service to Draftkings

  • alabamaarsenal

    Please keep soccer a priority. World Cup DFS was a hit and Draft$treet led their World Cup player pool to believe that they had big plans in place for EPL and Champions League. I would love to see MLS at some point as well. Thanks guys and best of luck on the merger!

    Might be a strange thing for a competitor to say but I echo that. For us DraftStreet was a first class competitor (which I’ll freely admit kicked our ass on more than one occasion). It’s been a pleasure working with you guys in building the DFS category. Good luck with the merger and/or your future plans.

    That sucks for selfish reasons but congrats are definitely in order for what I’ve always felt was the best run shop.

    Best of luck Markness and all of the DS team.
