    DraftKings and DraftStreet Join Forces

Today, we are excited to announce that DraftKings has acquired DraftStreet, bringing together the two best products in daily fantasy. For the past several days, we have watched as many speculated, not just about whether the rumors were true but also about the reasons why. Let me be clear on one point – the one and only reason why DraftKings and DraftStreet are teaming up is that we believe we are a better company combined than separate. Yes, userbase and liquidity will grow, but more importantly we are bringing together two great teams that will work hard to infuse everything you love about DraftStreet and DraftKings into one incredible experience. Please remember, of course, that this cannot happen overnight. Things like snake drafts, pick’ems, and an improved loyalty program as well as new sports like soccer are in the future plans, but these take time to create and will need to be prioritized along with the rest of the features we are working on. But rest assured that the plan is to bring all the great elements of DraftStreet over to DraftKings so we can deliver to you the most amazing experience in daily fantasy sports.

Later tonight, we will be launching a process on DraftStreet.com by which you can migrate your account over to DraftKings. Once that is live, you will be able to access all of your funds immediately using this process, including withdrawals. Between now and then, please be patient with us while we get this up and running. As part of this launch, we will be offering any new DK players a 100% deposit bonus on transferred funds, and we will also be offering that bonus again when you make your first deposit on DK. For players who are already on DK, we will be offering you a 25% bonus on transferred funds if you have a DraftStreet account. If you don’t have a DraftStreet account, we will still make the 25% bonus available to you whenever you make your next deposit. Be on the lookout for an email with instructions on how to redeem it. If for some reason you don’t receive that email, just send a note to support@draftkings.com and we will send you a link to redeem the bonus.

As always, if you have questions about your account, please contact support@draftkings.com. If questions are posted here, we will do our best to answer them, but please use the standard support channel for fastest response. The customer experience team will be working overtime all week in order to help respond as immediately as possible to any inquiries.

In closing, I want to thank all of our loyal DK players and also welcome all the new DraftStreet players to DraftKings. Our work is never done when it comes to bringing you the best possible experience in daily fantasy sports, and joining forces with DraftStreet today is another huge step in that direction.

I’m sorry if this has already been asked, but say I was down $2K on DS and up $10K on DK, will DK send me a 1099 for $8K or for $10K?

    Colindew & Futureoffantasy,

    1. All affiliates and recruits will keep their recruits as they create new accounts on DraftKings.

    2. Street Creds will be converted to FPP’s at the best possible rate to customers, and we’ve applied the Street Cred reward to each customer, pro-rated for half a month.

    3. Thank you!

Will the snake drafts and pick ems be available on DK by NFL week 1. Besides the street cred program (which was the best rake back system EVER) the pick ems and snakes really made DS stand out. I’ve been saving money all summer with the plans of making a huge deposit on DS just to snake draft. I would hate for the “drafting” in dfs to be gone because lets face it is the essence of fantasy. Please let me know if its in the works and if it may be ready by NFL.

Lastly i wanna say goodbye and thank you to DS as a staff label and a MF’n crew lol but all jokes aside DS was my favorite site i will mis everything about it. I made my 1st dfs deposit on DS and cashed in my 1st gpp on DS and all the memories sweating out gpp’s and snakes in the shout box are nights i will rememebr for ever. The 1 thing DS did was make me feel like i was part of a community with the shout box because i was able to chat with fellow grinders.

Thanks DS…damn now i cant just call for MattDS in the shout box for help now i have to actaully contact support via email smh i miss DS already :(

I’ll be happy to give you Matt’s cell number so you can have him on speed dial. A piece of him will most certainly be missing without DSChat

DraftKings Will send a 1099 for $10K, but we’ll also combine all of the cumulative net winnings from DraftStreet and DraftKings and let you know that the combined sum is $8k. You should be able to work with your tax professional to make sure you’re only paying taxes on your $8k. Note, I am not a tax professional, so this should not constitute tax advice.

So as a current DK customer if I wanted to start playing a DS snake draft on Friday then I would need to deposit separately to DS? Or can I use my current DK balance to do this?

I’d like to personally thank Mark and DraftStreet for everything they’ve done for the industry and having the sharpest and most dynamic game around. I haven’t had much of a bad word to say about DS in the three years I’ve played there. It’s truly been a pleasure doing business with them daily.

I’m saddened to see DS leave but encouraged from what I’ve been told that basically their whole management team is moving over to DK with this transaction. Although it obviously won’t be the same game I don’t think the DS vision will be lost.

I got into DFS through a DraftStreet article in Bluff Magazine. Stumbled onto RGs through that and eventually was lucky enough to get a job in this industry. I will always be fond of DS for getting me into this DFS world.

DS was my first site when I first started back in ’11. Gonna miss it.

I had a pending deposit bonus with Draft$treet – will this carry over to DraftKings?

  • alabamaarsenal

One more questions – I have an existing DraftKings account with a different screen name than my DraftStreet screen name. Am I eligible to keep my DraftStreet screen name in place of my existing DraftKings screen name?

Very saddened by this news. Draftstreet has gotten 98% of my business seven days a week for the last 4 years. I felt as though it was by far the best run site and the most user-friendly. I hope that Draftkings will keep some of the key elements that made DS so unique.

Thanks to Markness and the rest of the team for making me almost completely forget yearly leagues, and giving me something to write an article about every day.

For existing DK users, either a 25% transfer bonus or your pending deposit bonus on DS will transfer over (whichever is larger).

The DFS industry is changing before our eyes. Everyone is wanting to compete with the leader in fanduel. This could be the beginning of that. Might as well think about fantasy nascar. Why not. Anything can be turned into a money maker. Fantasy WWE??? Oh yea it is coming

    1. All vouchers are being converted to DK$ at 100% of their cash value

    2. Anyone with a DSBC entry has been contacted separately via email to make sure everyone is comfortable with the resolution.

What is the conversion rate for rewards points?

We’ll have a post up to clarify how this affects DraftStreet Grinders Incentives sometime during the All-Star break!

    Convert mine to FD please.

Loved the Pick’em style games. When will those be back up for MLB?

Also, what about the 3-day survivors in both Pick’em and salary cap ? Loved those too.

    RIP DS

  • mkennedy2121

Will DK have the same Salary Cap setup as DS? That was unique and worked so well imo. It made it harder to make a winning team. Having a rounded out number value is not as fun.

When trying to transfer my account to draftkings it wont let me log into my draftstreet account as it says in the instructions.

same i am trying to follow the instructions and am being told over and over my password is incorrect. i have since reset twice and it is still incorrect……

I never had a chance to play on DraftStreet but was looking forward to trying them out for NFL.

One thing I hope the combined company will do is keep some of the elements of DraftStreet that made the cash games or “side action” much larger than it is on DraftKings.

I always suspected that the tighter salary structure and deeper roster settings combined with lower effective rake seemed to create more cash game action.

DraftKings is a great site, but such a high percentage of their action is jammed into GPP’s. I hope it will become more balanced like DraftStreet was (and FanDuel is), and I think bringing some of the elements of DS could help.

    Good luck, guys.

We had a little timing issue with the deploy between DraftStreet and DraftKings which has now been resolved. Let us know if anything else comes up during the process.
