    DraftKings and DraftStreet Join Forces

Today, we are excited to announce that DraftKings has acquired DraftStreet, bringing together the two best products in daily fantasy. For the past several days, we have watched as many speculated, not just about whether the rumors were true but also about the reasons why. Let me be clear on one point – the one and only reason why DraftKings and DraftStreet are teaming up is that we believe we are a better company combined than separate. Yes, userbase and liquidity will grow, but more importantly we are bringing together two great teams that will work hard to infuse everything you love about DraftStreet and DraftKings into one incredible experience. Please remember, of course, that this cannot happen overnight. Things like snake drafts, pick’ems, and an improved loyalty program as well as new sports like soccer are in the future plans, but these take time to create and will need to be prioritized along with the rest of the features we are working on. But rest assured that the plan is to bring all the great elements of DraftStreet over to DraftKings so we can deliver to you the most amazing experience in daily fantasy sports.

Later tonight, we will be launching a process on DraftStreet.com by which you can migrate your account over to DraftKings. Once that is live, you will be able to access all of your funds immediately using this process, including withdrawals. Between now and then, please be patient with us while we get this up and running. As part of this launch, we will be offering any new DK players a 100% deposit bonus on transferred funds, and we will also be offering that bonus again when you make your first deposit on DK. For players who are already on DK, we will be offering you a 25% bonus on transferred funds if you have a DraftStreet account. If you don’t have a DraftStreet account, we will still make the 25% bonus available to you whenever you make your next deposit. Be on the lookout for an email with instructions on how to redeem it. If for some reason you don’t receive that email, just send a note to support@draftkings.com and we will send you a link to redeem the bonus.

As always, if you have questions about your account, please contact support@draftkings.com. If questions are posted here, we will do our best to answer them, but please use the standard support channel for fastest response. The customer experience team will be working overtime all week in order to help respond as immediately as possible to any inquiries.

In closing, I want to thank all of our loyal DK players and also welcome all the new DraftStreet players to DraftKings. Our work is never done when it comes to bringing you the best possible experience in daily fantasy sports, and joining forces with DraftStreet today is another huge step in that direction.

They didn’t have to give current customers anything. There were no bonuses on either site for current players as of a few hours ago.

They said they are going to add a loyalty program and they are giving you free money for clicking a few buttons and moving your balance over. If you don’t like it, you can always just cash out and go play somewhere else.

Lol. Taylor has spoken. I quit.

Sad to see the draftstreet pricing go. I started out on draftkings, but frankly I hated seeing huge stacks in GPPs and the cash game lineups all had the same obvious value plays so I just found a new site and finally found DS. Day to day pricing was so much more precise and the variety made the game more fun and competitive in my opinion. I imagine high bankroll guys from DK have figured out their winning strategies via pricing and won’t want to see change, but I hope for the sake of being a better game they make an effort to run the 100k format.

Glad to see the DS team at DK, I know the two can work off eachother well considering DK seemd to always be superior from a software perspective while DS had a better format.

Agree 100%. If DK wants the DS loyalists to stick they need to tighten up their pricing. Sounds like they agree.

I am going to be pissed if I lose the referrals of my whale. We all have accounts on other sites, if a guy has an account on DK and barely played, but played big money on DS and you referred there, well thats not fair at all.

I am interested to see how this is going to be handled. I make $10K a year from one guy, who I’m sure has a DK account by know, but hes a DS player.

Can you tell me how this will be handled.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to be a dick about it, it’s just what I think. They’re giving away free money even if you already play on both sites. I just think that’s pretty reasonable.

also want to add another two cents that I think the argument saying that is discourages newcomers is bad. 1.) if they don’t know any other format they’ll stick around, I think DK is big enough to hold them down and 2.) that fact is really overplayed to begin with and I don’t think it would throw off that many beginners. The potential for money won’t change for beginners no matter what site they are on and that’s why they are there 9 times out of 10.

Plus I don’t like the idea of pretending new guys are all going to be like dumb 14 year olds. There’s a learning curve but it isn’t insane.

I already transferred my funds. Thank you for making this easy and being quick about it.

Feeling a little depressed that DS is gone. DS was my first site venturing into daily fantasy and will miss it.

Since I transferred my account from DS, can I have my 50 beginner league contests reset too, even though I already had a DK account and graduated?

Something nobody is talking about is who could potentially step up as number 3 in the industry. I think it was DB on the podcast saying this could create a void and I definitely agree. I like to spread action out over multiple sites and I think this could allow a SS or similar to really gain some market share

Yup, you can cash out and play some where else, but I dint think thats what they want.

If I lose my referral guy, whos played $100 on DK and has not played in months versus over $100K on DS I wont play on DK.

I loved DS, if there are no similarities I’ll find some where else to play.

I think that’s true to a certain extent. Now one wants “perfect pricing” which would be impossible anyways. If a site could set pricing where expected production matched salary everyone would tie.

What I think most players want is a balance between too easy and too sharp. I think DS for the most part understood that and I’m happy to see it coming to DK.

    It’s cool.

All i was trying to say, originally, is businesses don’t treat their existing customers as well as they do new customers when it comes to incentives. Same thing happens with directv, as another example.

I’ve said many times over these “airwaves” we as players shouldn’t settle. We should expect and demand the best. I don’t want to give out any free passes.

Now as far as the bonuses. I’m fine with the 25% bonus on the transfer for existing DK customers. Seems reasonable (hopefully i just didnt “ok” a free pass right there :-). However, i do think if they are going to offer a 100% deposit bonus they should offer that to both new and existing customers.

Anyone else wishing they hadn’t withdrawn recently from DS? That bonus woulda been sweet…

I have $2 in my account on DS. If I don’t transfer it can I deposit and get a 25% bonus?

You get a 25% reload bonus anyways if you didn’t have any money to transfer over.

@DraftKings I love how easy you guys made the transfer! A+ work by both parties here. I am excited to continue to play more on Draftkings now

search i think the referrals we had on ds from years ago probably have gone out and found other sites like DK on there own, i think this is where the guys that played and recruited for ds will get screwed. what a crappy day

Sad to see DS go as I enjoyed the expanded rosters and stricter pricing, but I’m excited to see what’s in store at DK. With college football right around the corner, I hope DK takes a look at drafstreet cfb setup as I think it was the best in the industry. In particular a sport like cfb, with so many teams, really lends itself to the expanded rosters DS had.

Will soccer be implemented on DK for the EPL soon? I felt like World Cup was a pretty big hit and was kind of led to believe it was coming.

Congrats on the merger. DS was a great site and DK/DS will be awesome with time.

  • noddy

With this acquisition FD is so far behind DK its not even funny.

  • badtouch

Really saddened by this as I loved playing on DS. I play on DK too so it really doesn’t affect me from that standpoint as I was going to keep playing there anyway. I’m super bummed especially with CFB coming up as DS was by far my favorite CFB site, DK is decent and getting better, and FD sucks for CFB.

This is not a positive day for the industry as we just lost an awesome, unique site.

They have said they will but don’t know when. I personally doubt it will be there by August 16th which is when the EPL starts. I just hope they don’t wait until next year. That would really suck.

I received a text from 617-849-9834 giving me a Draft Kings code. I didn’t see anything regarding a code via text in the DS xfer email. All replies auto generate “Hello there”

Legit? Anyone else get this text?

    Congrats to DS and DK.

Will the DS players automatically decide to play at draft kings is the question. Fan Duel will definitely see an uptick in business as well.

DraftStreet blazed a trail here with World Cup, we are excited to unite and work with Mark & the team to build an amazing EPL / Champs League / etc Soccer experience. Obviously there has been a lot going on at DK the last few weeks – as Jason alluded to we have some product prioritization decisions to make. We wish we had soccer already, believe me. Will try to provide a more concrete answer soon.
