I have a suggestion. The global player swap tool should allow you to swap players that have a higher salary than the one you are replacing. If the replace fails because there is not enough salary available in a given lineup then just report that some of the swaps failed like you do for other conflicting swaps.

Lower rake and lower the entry fees for the low buy in tourneys. $5 GPP already seems to be gone in favor of the $8 “Rally Cap”.

Cutting MNF from the main slate was annoying, cutting SNF from the main slate was worse, cutting west coast games from the main MLB night slate is a bridge too far for me. They only did this one night, so hopefully that’ll be the end of that.

Oddly enough I like the early only Sun main slates for MLB. West coast lineups were a major ass ache, so kudos for that.

I am very frustrated. There are many suggestions I have but my #1 concern right now is what is being done to me regarding tickets.

I play every day on DK, and I play quite a lot of volume.

I win contest tickets sometimes and customer support never knows when the contests are being held when I ask. I send repeated e-mails and get no information.

Then my tickets routinely get expired without warning. I have lost several thousand dollars worth of tickets this year in this manner. My complaints have fallen upon deaf ears.

My second biggest concern is what is being done to slates but I doubt it’ll ever change because people are entering the contests. Instead of real slates, we get a lot of showdown contests in MLB, NHL, and NBA, and I’m sure the same will happen in NFL.

Increase the cutoff for low-entry GPPs. At least for some of them. As is, mass entry is only for those with the biggest bankrolls. Why not allow players with smaller bankrolls to experiment with mass entry as well?

Top Heavy Payouts. Can we please curtail these? I understand if every now and then you want to put a huge figure up top, but regularly having contests with several thousand or more entries that payout 20% or more to first creates a lot of unnecessary risk. Either players will not adjust accordingly and you will cause lots of very good players to lose a lot of money and force them to move down, or players will realize that when payouts are top-heavy their risk of ruin is higher for every dollar they bet and players will have to bet a smaller % of their bankroll in these contests. It seems like either is suboptimal longterm.

    A few thoughts:

    FIRST:

I disagree with the first part of this quoted post, but agree with the rest and don’t believe it has to be all or nothing. Some folks can only afford to mass enter lower cost GPPs, and should be given some opportunity to do so.

Many of us also don’t want to have to face those who are mass entering, so we should also have plenty of lower GPPs that keep the 20-max entry.

DK could do Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays all small GPPs are 100-max, and the rest of the time they’re 20-max, or some other combination.

    SECOND:

Similarly, LET NHL GPP PLAYERS take advantage of DK’s new 20-max policy. My repeated emails have fallen on deaf ears in this regard. The $3 or $4 NHL GPPs are NEVER the biggest ones. If an NHL GPP’er wishes to join those 20-max, it requires giving up on the primary (and typically the biggest) GPP of the night. I don’t see why a $4 NHL $35-40K GPP can’t be set every Thursday and Friday next season. Enough with the $8 150-max already!

    THIRD:

Stop with the lottery-style payouts. GPP prizes should have 10-15% go to first place, and then 10% of that number go to 10th, with some variation in between and afterward. There’s absolutely no need for larger first place prizes when those who finish between first and tenth, generally, are all putting in great lineups and the difference can come down to a blocked shot or two (in hockey, at least).

    . . .

    Thanks for listening, and welcome!

Yes, I agree, mix it up. In sports that support it (NFL), it would be nice if there were a couple 100-max GPPs every week at some combination of the $0.25, $1, $2, or $3 levels. In other sports, it’s more difficult but yeah, a couple times a week would be OK.

I got my start mass entering the giant 300-max quarter arcades back in the day, and it was fun (if not profitable). Despite having come a long way since then, I’m not comfortable mass entering tournaments like the Milly Maker. Especially given your third point, which I agree with completely. I’m tired of finishing in the 99.99th percentile and earning 10 buy-ins.

    I second this.
If you are strictly a multi-entry tournament player and playing decent size you need to win one or more GPP/year to be profitable.
I had many nights where I cashed more than 50% of my lineups and lost money or barely broke even.

Min cash should be doubling your entry fee.

Stop adding new features and game modes that nobody wants and fix things on the site that are actually broken (Join games error in the lobby been going on for YEARS and has never been fixed despite multiple conversations I’ve had about it).

First off, respect for coming on here and asking for feedback.

Would love fewer 150 entry max contests and larger 20 max entry contests. Like that the $3 Moonshot is back for MLB.

Also, not a fan of the showdown contests or the two game Soccer contests. For Soccer the slate should be at least three games.

    Thanks.

Can you go back to dynamic pricing. No reason that tomorrow’s Rockies/Cubs game is fully stackable.

I will also say to stop having such top heavy gpps.

As someone who predominantly likes to play single entry and 3 entry max, I would like to see those a little bigger and with more options/price points, especially for baseball.

The $20 gladiator for Nascar this past weekend was a big disappointment to see and I hope that is not the new norm for the big NASCAR Gpp of the week, I think you should also look some new scoring options for Nascar or adjust pricing so you can’t fit whoever you want in your lineups most weeks. There are too many ties and something could be done to try and drop that by maybe 50%.

  • Kp24

Thank you DK for asking for thoughts and concerns. Mine is simple:

I think your long term business model is untenable unless the rake is lowered and prize payouts are made flatter. Not only the legalization of sports gambling that seems imminent, the overall health of the player pool cannot be sustained with the current rake structure.

I agree with Anil’s comment 100%. I mainly play quarters and they have a good payout structure compared to most $4+ gpps. I also would like to see higher entry limits in the low stakes. I do love how you guys at DK will keep posting new quarters up till lock so I can at least usually get 80-160 lines in the quarters, but I would still play all those plus a 150 max if it was there.

Redesign the lineups page so it doesn’t load so slow for people who mass enter and play more than one sport.

Lower rake and better structures would get many of us off the sidelines only a matter of time before the sharks run out of money.

I’d like to see more NHL satellites into MLB tournaments during that time where the two sports overlap.

Also, it seems like a huge majority of the monthly rewards freerolls end up being NBA tournaments – please mix it up more. For instance, there is no reason the Gold & Platinum freerolls just completed could not have been the Masters golf tournament.

This is one of the biggest things that bothers me at times. For example, tonight’s $250k guaranteed, $55 buy-in Full Count. That’s a good price point where I like to play 1-2 lineups per night in baseball. The contest has 5165 entries. That is a field that actually seems possible to finish in the top 3-5 (as compared to GPP’s with 50k+ entries). BUT it is somehow still 150 max entries. Why? At this point no one should be able to have almost 3% of the entries in a contest. Then with possible teams, brothers or groups of players playing it, they can have 6% or more of the entries in the contest. It’s a big turn-off for someone looking to play 1-2 lineups per night in the biggest mid-priced buy-in contest. This is the type of contest that would be great if it was 20 max entries.

Also agree with less top heavy lotteries. That was fine when DraftKings was doing it’s all out marketing blitz to attract new customers. But at this point, you also need to worry about keeping players around. Milly Makers are not necessary outside football that can support it. Those top heavy GPP’s are not good for the sustainability of the ecosystem. Flatter payout structures, especially in those top 10-15 spots. 1st prize can take 10% of a prize pool and still walk away with a nice chunk of change. It does not need to be 20-25% (or more) in most of the featured GPP’s.

For me, flatten payouts is the big one. If you min cash, you should always get at least double your buy-in back. And while I agree with the sentiment on 20 max contests at lower buy-ins, I would like to see at least one big one (150 max) each week at the .25, $1, $2 and $3 buy-in level (ESPECIALLY for NFL). There is nothing saying you can’t do both and I’m pretty sure both would fill.
