is there anyway to tell when the next $5-6 150 entry event will be? I enjoy those but adding an additional 3 per entry to jump up to tomorrow $8 isnt something I want to do. Not sure if there is any way to know a day or two ahead of times when these lower max entry GPPs will be available.

Unfortunately, my guess is that they’re phasing out the $5.

Expect to see $8 and up only going forward.

If you join a MLB contest but forget to enter a lineup by lock what is the reasoning for not allowing people to pick players from later games?

When does DK roll out its gambling platform? (And can I play here in Florida)?

    yes this please

  • kantiger77

Most states have laws banning gambling so even if DK rolls something out, states like mine (which is the most open as far as DFS goes) will have to pass laws in order to allow true sports gambling, and we may have to pass a constitutional amendment here. So we’ll see.

i think this is a valid question, has happened a couple times when caught up with work and would be a nice option.
yes, i know i could preload all late game players as a just in case when registering.

I echo what others have said: Please do the two-game slates split over two days for the conference finals. I have no interest in playing showdown. I have always continued NBA play through the conference finals.

We all seem to dislike the 25% paid, yet today I see a 27% paid contest, are we going to have a 30% contest soon?…get these to 20% of the field payed please ASAP

This contest is missing my 20 entries today due to the payouts

It’s really kind of crazy that 12% cash/3x min payout was the norm only a few years ago…

At this time there is no way of knowing when the next contest of a specific price point as size will be offered. Our operations team uses data analytics to decide what contests to offer each day, this allows us to use the most recent data as part of our algorithms that predict future player expectations. We know that your request is a concern for many players, it’s something we continue to discuss internally – perhaps someday we will have a compromise that will help people like you plan in advance.

Unfortunately, my guess is that they’re phasing out the $5. Expect to see $8 and up only going forward.

We are not phasing out $5 contests.

A few days ago we responded to you to explain that when our headliner is a $5, we often run a matching $2 because it allows us to have big prize pools for both games by providing the right amount of spacing between the two. When we run an $8 centric mix we usually create two low stakes games at $4 and $1. This may give you some insight into how we build our mix of contests, and why you are not seeing the Tablesetter when we feature an $8 game.

You can continue to see a vibrant mix of sub $10 offerings, don’t worry – we are not switching to $8 and up.

    Tonight’s 4-seamer pay structure is 👌

    Thanks, glad you like it!

I want to commend you on the prize structure for the:
PGA $100K DRIVING RANGE [3 ENTRY MAX, 2X MIN CASH]

This is the perfect type of structure that many of us are asking for:

    - Approx 10-15% to 1st: CHECK – 10th place is a little under 10% of 1st (actually it is 10% of 2nd): CHECK – Paying out 20% of entrants: CHECK – 2X min payout: CHECK

Please use this structure as an example and put out more contests that fit this mold. This one is a 3x max which is nice, but there is no reason you can’t take these same percentages and make one of your big 20 max or 150 max GPPs to copy this structure.

Would like to see the $3 150 entry “Swing for the Fences” contests back. Also leading up to these contests there were satellite contests to win tickets for the Swing for the Fences contest, would like to see those again as well.

Change the entry limit on mma contest there is no reason a user should be able to enter 150 lineups with such small pool of fighters to choose from especially with all the cancelled fights. It’s the same max enter guys splitting 1st place every time. Or at least make 1 big single entry contest to choose

Sorry for the delay in responding, we wanted to make sure we got the right answer for you tamparoor.

MMA is one of our newer emerging sports on DK. New sports need large prize pools to grow, the size of the prize pool encourages customers to try our MMA contests. To continue growing the contest offering, we need to allow multi entries so we’re able to offer an attractive prize pool. We understand that some people prefer that we restrict the number of entries of our biggest multi-entry contests, that is a valid point of view but it would discourage growth of MMA for our active players like you. We will continue to offer options for players looking for decently sized limited entry contests.

PS: Our 20 max games are frequently in the top three prize pools of all the MMA contests offered for a given card.

Please don’t change anything regarding MMA. Love the big prize pools!! Thanks :)

Just an FYI, but your site is glitching right now… no baseball player’s names are showing up on the site, only their picture and their team. I’ve pulled my entry from a contest because I cannot tell who is who, lol.

We are investigating a visual bug that interferes with the display of player names on the Draft screen. Our team is aware and already on the solution.

Why are the contest offerings for split baseball slates so terrible? The contests are either awful, top heavy payout structures with mass entries (Brunch Special, Switch Hitter, Fastball) or too small to be worth playing with a top prize of $1k or less (Home Plate, Skipper, Base Hit). We got a 9 game slate this afternoon and I can’t find one GPP I am really interested in playing.

Also, why so many similar contests that just spread the money out and reduce the overall size of the offerings. For example, you have a $20 buy-in, $8k Home Plate. You have a $25 buy-in, $5k Skipper. Then you have a $12 buy-in, $10k Base Hit. They all are 3 entry max or single entry. Why not just offer ONE contest that is $25k-30k with a $20 buy-in and 3 entry max??? Then you at least can offer a decent top prize ($2500-3000) and size the contest where it entices people who are looking for a good payout structure and low max entries.

Agreed. The $8 GPP for the 5 game main slate tonight is way too small.

I agree with this. Also the $12 single entry 10K base hit is back to a $18 min cash (for the early) so that is normally what I play but will be passing today with it back to that terrible structure where you need to finish top 10% just to double up. For a 9 game slate I am also struggling to find anything I want to play and won’t touch the main slate which may only be 4 games with the weather.

      RG Overall Ranking

    @Dunzor said...

I think the biggest issue that is causing a lot of the payout structure problems is paying too many places. when you got 25% winners you can’t put enough on the min cash / up top to make it good.

GPPs should go back to paying out the top 15-20% of entrants with a 2x min cash, 10% to first and probably a tenth of the top prize to 10th place.

So a $10 entry – 50,000 entry tourney should pay out around $50K to first….$5K to 10th and have payouts go down to the top 8,000-10,000 players winning at least $20.

You can tweak the numbers a bit to make sure it scales down appropriately but I think the biggest key is stop paying out that extra 5-7% at teh bottom

This is an interesting situation and I could argue both sides. It seems like the first few years DK paid out closer to 15-20% on most contests. And I believe they learned pretty quickly that people “guestimated” the cut at 20% and were often disappointed/frustrated they missed cashing by fractions of a point in that range.

Also, I think it’s pretty obvious that it is better for the sustainability of the business model if a larger percent of users cash something each day. No one leaves with money sitting in their account.

All that said though, it did lead to a lot more top heavy contests and very weak payouts near the bottom. So, now I think they’re working the problem. But there is certainly no obvious solution to satisfy everyone.

Always keep in mind, sometimes what us Grinders want, isn’t exactly what the general public wants. Meaning, the guys who don’t visit websites like this. The average guy out there that emails in and tweets at Draftkings that we don’t get to see their opinion, yet Draftkings does.

I have met so many people that play DFS, randomly, that have never visited RG before I told them about it.
