I think a vast majority of people that play DFS love spending $2 and winning $3. It’s a profit, that’s how they see it! Hey! I won something! Big freaking deal.

Why are the majority of the FBWC qualifier contests in the $150+ entry fee range? Let’s at least open a few of these up at lower buy-in levels with 150 max.

We responded to this question one week ago (link), but today we have breaking news to share with you all!

The DraftKings Community Team shared your request with our co-workers that manage MLB to add qualifiers aimed at lower buy-in levels. They reviewed your request and agreed with your suggestion to provide more multientry opportunities to win a Qualifier seat.

That is why we are happy to announce the addition of the following FBWC qualifier options!

    1. $8 qualifier for Friday May 25th (expect to see this live in the lobby tomorrow)
    2. $33 qualifier estimated to be added to the lobby within the next week

These new lower-stakes qualifiers are intended to be posted in the lobby 3-5 days prior to the contest date, this extra lead-in time will help these special qualifiers fill. Our co-workers will use the data gathered from this experience to help us plan for future qualifiers.

Great request BRORANNOSAURUS_FLEX, thank you for the suggestion!

MLB tournaments are so disappointing this season. Please run a LARGE field $3-6 contest more than once every 2 weeks. If you insist on having the $8 rally be your main large field contest then UP the entries by double. If you can’t double the entries and have it fill them lower it to $6 or ,$5, or $4. I personally don’t even care what the payout structure is or # of entries allowed per player. You have too many offerings that are basically the same thing and sized way too small. NBA and PGA are able to get it right with a consistent, aggressively sized MEGA field contest. Why can’t MLB?

Seriously. Whoever is in charge of sizing needs a pay cut…..

This has definitely been a problem with baseball. In an effort to try to have every contest, entry limit and payout structure possible it seems, they’ve just spread all the contests out too much.

Right now I see FIVE different GPP’s with buy-ins between $100-200 that are all single entry or 3 entry max. They range from $5k guaranteed up to $50k guaranteed. Why not consolidate those contests into 1-2 bigger offerings?

Then I see a $75 buy-in 3 entry max, $50 buy-in single entry AND $25 buy-in single entry. WHY??? Do you really need single to 3 entry max contests at $25, $50, $75, $100, and $200? Pick 2-3 price points maximum and make them larger.

Then you have a $20 buy-in 3 entry max along with the $25 buy-in single entry and a $12 buy-in single entry. This continues on down the line with the smaller buy-in contests as well.

Do people who want single entry contests or 3 entry max contests really fret about the other? There really is little difference between single entry contests versus 3 or even 5 entry max. The idea is you don’t want to be facing max multi-entries. So please consolidate some of the contests and focus on making a few core contests that are lower maximum entries with nice payout structures. The current setup/offerings are just a mess. End rant.

Tonight’s $8 “Rally Cap” just filled with 2 hours and 15 minutes before lock.

  • yisman

For golf this morning, the quarter jukebox filled at about midnight EDT, 8 hours before lock. A replacement was never posted.

Also, I would like to see quarter jukeboxes for MLB pick’em.

Since you are getting more rake money from the single game contests you should be a bit more generous with the MLB offerings.
Massive drop off from last year and enough with the excuses.

  • Babelito84

Not to pile on but the MLB GPP’s this year are awful and I’ve found myself playing more on FantasyDraft, FanDuel and Yahoo. You had a $400 single entry contest and now have stopped that, the $100-200 ranges are way too spread out, plus now this 3 max $75 one all at lower levels. To previous posters points, consolidate this and stop the nonsense that is showdown mode….the good news is with betting on the way, this format should die a quick death.

is there anyway to tell when the next $5-6 150 entry event will be? I enjoy those but adding an additional 3 per entry to jump up to tomorrow $8 isnt something I want to do. Not sure if there is any way to know a day or two ahead of times when these lower max entry GPPs will be available.

The upcoming week of featured MLB main sets are scheduled as follows:

What are the Tax Forms going to look like when Draftkings allows sports betting? Viewed as two completely different things (DFS=Game of Skill -1099 vs. Sports Betting=Gambling -W-2G) OR will all Draftkings activity be netted together into one tax form?

  • rannas23

Another example of a big jump from one multi-enter contests to the next multi-enter contests. Looking at tonights baseball gpp multi-enter contests 05/18/2018 @ 7pm/ 15 game slate.

You have an $8 an entry for 25k to 1st with 33k entries (the usual). Then the next option you have if you want to multi-enter is all the way up to $88 an entry for 50k to 1st. Can we not have something in between…. a big difference in a persons budget if he likes to muli-enter from $8 to $88 an entry and wants to multi enter. Where is an $20/$33 an entry multi enter contests….these would fill along with your $88 one. You could easily add more contests in between those entry costs and still fill.

At this time we do not offer a SB product, however DraftKings is excited about the possibilities opened by the overturn of PASPA and will be exploring all opportunities to expand both DFS and SB to sports fans everywhere.

  • Dunzor

Hey Draftkings….can you provide some insight as to the reasoning for including positional points on Rd 4 Showdown in PGA? By including these position points it really narrows the efficient player pool and concentrates ownership to make extremely chalky picks across the board. Since the early round Showdowns don’t use these points and have more spread out ownership I don’t understand the need to include them in Round 4.

Alternatively if position points must be included for Rd 4 for some reason….please please please change it from raw position points to the “nascar model” of a CHANGE in position points for the round so that there is really a benefit to picking a guy near the bottom who moves up and some actual risk to just taking a bunch of guys at the top.

Hopefully you can provide some reasoning behind these showdown setups because it really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to severely limit the reasonable player pool for the final round

  • KindGuy

Terrible job sizing the $10 NBA showdown contest for tonight. I was looking forward to parlaying my winnings from MLB but it won’t pay out in time because the big $400,000 GPP is gonna fill 2 hours before lock. Great job, guys.

Yeah, I like top-heavy payout structures more than others, but 10 entries out of nearly 59 thousand will get 49% of the prize pool (mostly to 1st). The other half of the pool will be split among the 11950 other entries that finish in the money. I was super excited at first to mass enter at a $6 price, but I don’t think I could stomach beating 58807 entries, losing to 15, and getting 300 hundred bucks.
