When are you going to fix Golf Sunday Showdowns and Weekend contests? Why in the world is finish position not counted on Weekend contests but is on Sunday Showdown? Can someone just admit that setting it up this way was a mistake and own it instead of continuing to believe it’s a good format for either contest?

The changes this off-season absolutely ruined the show down format for MLB.

No one is going to continue to play this format because its totally broken.

How long before they plan to change it back so the game is functional?

You shouldn’t have to play 3 bench hitters and hope one pinch hits for a walk to win a gpp.

    Yea they made a mistake.

Finishing points are supposed to be for the weekend showdown and NOT for round 4 show down.

The way it is set up now makes 4th round showdown virtually unplayable because there is so much chalk

No clue why they cant just cop to the mistake and fix it at this point.

I play the $1, $4 GPP and $12 SE daily for NBA. It looks like the size of these has been cut in half today with baseball back. Is this necessary and is this what we can expect to see the rest of the season?

Not even 5pm and all of these contests are full. Not sure when they filled but definitely could have been larger.

disappointed with the 2019 MLB Achievements

Last season, when we launched our first-ever achievements program, prior to 2018 we did not offer any Achievements for any sports, the 2018 MLB season was our first attempt to find the right balance for rewarding our customers for reaching key achievement milestones.

In the year since we offered 2018 MLB Achievements, we rolled out our daily rewards system as well as robust achievements programs for NFL, NBA, and NHL – all of which did not exist this time last year. The DFS ecosystem was much different than it is now, in the past year we have made massive improvements to our rewards program, greatly increasing the total amount of rewards that return to our players via the DraftKings Rewards Programs that include Daily Rewards, Achievements, Missions, and more improvements that remain in the pipeline (yes, there is more to come!) -> https://www.draftkings.com/draftkings-rewards. The 2019 MLB Achievements are more in line with the goals we set for our players for other sports that launched after we rolled out the improved DraftKings Rewards program at the start of NFL season in 2018. Admittingly, the first iteration of MLB Achievements had some goals that were easier to reach, that helped us gain the data we needed to set a baseline for rewards programs to come.

We would also like to use this opportunity to remind everyone that we reward users not based on spend or volume, but rather engagement and activity. Our rewards system is designed to offer balanced rewards for casual and sharp users alike. There is no strategy nor edge to be gained with our achievements program, it’s simple – the more you play – the more you are rewarded. This makes our MLB Achievements fair and reasonable to achieve for all – and helps us reward even more players. The more players we reward for their achievements, the more active players we keep in the DFS ecosystem.

The most important facet of our business is you, our users. The evolution of DFS, and the adjustments we make in the process, are in response to the feedback we hear from the community. We will continue to consider all user feedback as we continue to develop and improve our rewards programs for the remainder of 2019 and beyond.

I also still can’t shake the feeling that the new rules benefit people who are experts at covering combinations in DFS at the expense of people who are experts about baseball.

We make changes to our product, achievements included, based on the feedback from our users. Last season, our users showed preference for offense in baseball, it is our job to continually evolve the game to encourage more users than ever before to participate regularly in DrfatKing’s contests – and in turn help us to drive contest guarantees to be as big as possible whenever we predict a high demand. Removing pitchers was the right decision given the greater DFS community’s propensity for offense in baseball.

We also want to share that we have learned from this experience, we are working to improve communications with content providers and lineup optimisers whenever we make major changes to a game format in the future. Our goal is to make sure these content creators are prepared when a new season starts, we see in hindsight how we could have done better. You have our commitment to improve, we want everyone to be prepared as a new season starts!

Why in the world is finish position not counted on Weekend contests but is on Sunday Showdown?

When Weekend PGA was launched, we excluded finishing position to prevent artificial ownership inflation for certain golfers, ensuring the best user experience possible. When we launched Showdown, we added finishing position bonuses exclusively for Round 4 in order to differentiate the offering from Rounds 1-3.

Now that we are running both offerings consistently each week, we decided to keep the Weekend PGA scoring that users were historically accustomed to. This differentiates Weekend PGA from Showdown as two very different game modes with very different strategies. Our users have a spectrum of different preferences so we want to offer a variety of contests with something for everyone.

So the $4 NBA contest filled easily every day with 37,000 entries and out of the blue a few days ago you decide to change it to 22,000 entries? Why? I’m not playing that garbage tournament and I’m not playing your $15 tournament either. You filled a 110,000 entry $4 tournament a week or 2 ago. That could happen everyday. Nobody cares what name you want to call the contest.

I play the $1, $4 GPP and $12 SE daily for NBA. It looks like the size of these has been cut in half today with baseball back. Is this necessary and is this what we can expect to see the rest of the season?

Every MLB season start we hear the same outcry, yet the reason is simple and logical if you see things from a top-down perspective. A few weeks ago NBA’s only competition for the attention was NHL, our ecosystem’s player liquidity was heavily focussed on NBA. This week NBA is competing for the same player liquidity against MLB and in many states also NCAA. The net result is fewer players available to submit entries, which in turn leads to more conservative contest sizing. As NCAA ends, there will be a rebalancing that will result in a refocus on bigger NBA guarantees. Eventually as interest from NBA switches to MLB, we expect to see an increase in guarantees for baseball.

The Classic format hasn’t changed since I joined DK 4 years ago. If you want to talk about a stale game, let’s start there.

We have made numerous evolutionary changes to Classic game format over the years, are there any suggestions you would like to propose for consideration?

The changes this off-season absolutely ruined the show down format for MLB. No one is going to continue to play this format because its totally broken.

Our data shows otherwise, Showdowns are filling with great success and we predict they will continue to grow. Do you remember this time last year when many on RotoGrinders were under the assumption that Showdown would kill classic games? Clearly that did not happen, in fact this new contest format was a massive success without affecting the vitality of classic games.

Not even 5pm and all of these contests are full. Not sure when they filled but definitely could have been larger.

We reposted many of the contests – yet we wanted you to know that we also took notice of this and are working to adjust and improve to the predicted entry demand. GPP sizing is a science, but it is not an exact science – we constantly make adjustments as additional data points come in.

Thanks for the golf matchplay contests for past two years. The Zurich team event in a few weeks needs to be strongly considered to add to your golf events. The field has most of top players in the world, and would be fun for dfs players. There will be a Friday cutsweat. Seems as if this would be less complicated to format than the matchplay, which again kudos. Thanks.

In MLB, when will the player card in the game log section start showing this year’s game log and stats? When I click on a player to look at the stats from the last 2-3 days it shows last years stats and game logs.

Yep, wondering the same thing. This happened last year as well and there is zero excuse for this oversight.

FD is on top of this from Opening Day every season!

I am curious about PGA achievements. I have a different count on the statistics than DK has. It is an extremely complicated effort for me to track this because of the multiple lu’s. as the weeks move on…I will not continue the chore.

aside from the differences of catagories with respect to showdown/weekend/classic.
Is the dime qualifiers eligible for achievements?
What achievements will be earned for the WGC Match Play event?
before the achievements started, I was able to look at a number of levels for each achievement. How come I cant find that now?

Curious about the odd amounts allowed for withdrawing funds… depending on the total, I can often only request increments of $38.50 be sent to my credit card…

$40 will send $38.50 to credit card and $1.50 to paypal…..

if i request $80 then $64.50 will go to CC and $15.50 to paypal….

if i choose $200 it will send $78.50 to CC and $121.50 to paypal…

but if I were to request 4 individual amounts of 38.50 ($154 total) each amount will be sent to credit card only and no option for paypal….

    I second this.

The matchplay event has been my favourite DK GPP of the year in any sport the last two years (and I’m primarily an NHL guy). If DK could figure out how to make additional ones fit within a DFS framework that would be fantastic as well!

Agreed with everybody on the PGA match play! Give us all you can for that.

Also consider a revamp where the guy who actually wins it gets a little more “bonus” points so 3rd place isn’t the leading scorer by a ton. There’s been suggestions offered but I’m not sure there’s one good answer.

Ya the main two suggestions from our weekly forum thread were
    1) Eliminate the fantasy points scored in the consolation match so having the finalists means more; and/or

    2) including some finishing position points like any pga event so that there is more benefit to advancing to each stage. This would help with the winner vs consolation issue as well as reward picking golfers who reach the elimination rounds so that even if they get smashed in the sweet 16 they won’t be losing points

MLB Achievements – how many total gamedays are there in MLB DFS in the 2019 regular season? How many could a person in theory miss and still hit 180?

There is 186 days between opening day and the final day with baseball everyday except for the 3 day All Star Break. However DK will likely offer a showdown slate for the All Star game so that would leave 184 days for sure. Last year they included the Monday game 163’s as part of achievements but you can’t guarantee those games will happen due to a division tie.

Came to ask/complain about the player card thing, see it’s been mentioned above…
I know it may sound silly, but it legitimately makes me not want to make lineups, it’s so annoying. Not that current season stats mean everything, but it’s a piece of the puzzle and as someone without a ton of free time now to research, it’s a piece I don’t have time to do on my own for each player, or I dont have time to doing it all and making decisions before entering the app.
I wind up having to go to Yahoo to help construct my DK’s lineups and it’s just stupid. Every other site has them, but for whatever reason one of, if not the biggest site can’t bother to update their stats at the start of every season.

  • JaBr

I see all former $.25 tickets are now only $.10. Too much charity for your liking? Thanks DK!

We are glad you all enjoyed our Match Play format! Your enthusiastic response were also reflected in the results of the Match Play contests, we saw both better interaction and engagement vs last year. As always, scoring is something we’ll revisit as we continue to evolve the game in consideration for next season.

In MLB, when will the player card in the game log section start showing this year’s game log and stats?
bq. for whatever reason one of, if not the biggest site can’t bother to update their stats at the start of every season.

Historically we have waited approximately 5 days to gather a baseline for statistics prior to updating MLB player cards at the start of the season. The sample size for start of season data is too small, we have taken the position that it is best to wait until there is enough information to form a realistic opinion, we do not wish to accidentally mislead our customers.

We intend to add current season statistics to player cards within the next day.

The dime qualifiers are eligible for achievements. For WGC Match Play, paid contests are only eligible for Golf Ironman and Weekly Golfer Achievements.

You can see the levels for each achievement in the Terms and Conditions here: https://www.draftkings.com/achievements-faq#pga

We experienced a slight delay this weekend, your earned Achievements should be updated now. If the issue remains, please contact support@draftkings.com and we would be happy to assist.

MLB Achievements – how many total gamedays are there in MLB DFS in the 2019 regular season? How many could a person in theory miss and still hit 180?

There are 184 MLB gamedays remaining this season. In theory, you can miss up to 4 days and still hit the 180.

I see all former $.25 tickets are now only $.10. Too much charity for your liking? Thanks DK!
