We’ve reached a crossroads and need your help.

It has been about 4 months since we launched our new Lineups page for DFS, with continued support for the ‘legacy’ version of the page by clicking “Switch to Old Layout”.

Retiring the old layout allows us to widen our scope for future improvements to the user interface, while expediting timelines for rolling out updates.

We are ready to move on from the legacy My Lineups page, to keep our focus on the new Lineups page redesign – the question is are you? If you think we should maintain the legacy My Lineups page, let us know why – please be as explicit as possible so we understand your point of view. This is your last chance to have your voice heard before the legacy page is deleted, please let us know your thoughts ASAP!

    - DraftKings Community Team

Now I know what is holding your team back from adding a single button to filter out the many satellites that you offer so that I would be able to easily find the real tournaments!! For God’s sake what are you waiting for!!!??

Personally I think you did a great job with the new page. Significant improvement. Thanks!

Hey CM, I want to know why, overnight, my account was restricted. I am a small stakes player, living in a legal state, who had not engaged in any unusual activity. Usually just toss in three PGA lus per week, along with a daily WNBA and MLB entry.

Hopefully this is just a glitch on your end.

  • Supersharpie

Nm, it was just a geoverification issue.

We generally want to avoid setting false expectations, therefore its best to be upfront with you about how we think about this topic. If satellites do not fill, then the end result is smaller featured events. That would be a bad turn of events for the player community, as well as for DK.

Will there be improvements to our lobby filters someday? Sure! This is a topic that is always in play, our UI developers are constantly testing and revising how we display contests to evolve the contest entry experience. Will we add filters that will hide contests we are trying to promote? That is less likely to occur, because we are unlikely to incorporate a filter to remove a contest format that we are actively trying to market and encourage entry into.

Personally I think you did a great job with the new page. Significant improvement. Thanks!

We have seen nothing but praise for the new Lineups page, it makes us really happy to know that the tremendous lift that was required to get the job done right was a great investment in time, effort, labor, and resources. Yet we know a small group of players still use the legacy page, we need to find out why so we can make the right decisions going forward.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

Hey CM, I want to know why, overnight, my account was restricted.
We are happy to hear that it was just a geo-restriction issue that is easily fixed.

In the future, we suggest emailing our support team – support@draftkings.com. We cannot solve account specific issues in public forums, this is for your own safety and security. But we can help you when you email use from the address used by your account, that is the most efficient way to solve problems with your account.

Just a quirk of mine but the sole reason I switch to the old layout while games are in progress is because I like to know my score but not how much money I’m currently winning (or not winning). I love the new layout, much easier to use and faster to make edits when having to hand edit mass entries. But I hate seeing prize progress when games are still going on. I’m sure some people love that but if there was an on/off switch for current prize position that would be cool.

Great point. Agree 100%, My lone complaint about the new page, but didn’t say anything because felt it was likely just an individual quirk of mine and wouldn’t be widely agreed with. Plus, everything else with the new page was such an improvement that I decided to just deal with it. But yeah, i’d LOVE it as well if it did not show how much each LU is winning.

How do the rewards work when it comes to the last day of the month?

For example I’m about 50 crowns away from achieving the next level in the month of June, for the month of July. If I earn the crowns needed today to qualify for the next level, yet claim the crowns tomorrow, will the crowns claimed tomorrow count toward June or July? Thanks

  • skleni

Great to see the Tennis contests growing further!

One thing, though: What about a smaller early-Slate for Wimbledon for us European players, as well?

If you have an edge case such your situation where you would acheive a new Status Tier the last day of the month, just send us an email at support@draftkings.com to make us aware. We will be happy to review your situation and make a fair decision on a case by case basis. We want the Daily Rewards program to be an incentive that rewards you for achieving new goals, it’s not intended to punish you for missing the goal due to a technicality. We got your back!

One thing, though: What about a smaller early-Slate for Wimbledon for us European players, as well?

Our goal is to provide the largest contests possible, if we add an early set then we risk splitting entry liquidity – which would negatively affect the adjacent contests – therefore this is something we are unlikely to do.

However, you will be happy to learn that tomorrow’s main set will start earlier than today. We are working to provide more options to Europeans who are avide Wimbledon fans like you – we hope to get this right!

Your new format is very bulky.
The live and upcoming tabs are unreliable.
I don’t want to see how much each lineup is making.
It is impossible for me to copy and paste my lineup to my buddy to show him how I am doing,
etc, etc…less is more. Keep the page clean.

Were the 1000 crowns from the 6/24 soccer bonus given out? I saw the other 4 days hit my accounts, but not that one.

Thanks a lot, tomorrow’s slate looks perfect to me!
The only thing missing is a tiers contest with so many games to choose from.

Same with me. I always switch to legacy because it makes it a much more entertaining experience for me to scroll through my lineups looking for high scores that might have a shot at something instead of instantly seeing how much i did or didnt win.

did you guys get rid of the .10 cent contests for the MLB showdowns? I looked the two contests for today, and only saw .25 cent ones

Can confirm, I had the same case from PGA achievements on June 30th that I claimed July 1, but I quoted this post in my ticket to support and they bumped my tier for the new month!

Why do you lowball the entry estimate on all the larger pga gpp contests? – Every week there is a new “Drive the Green” or whatever before the first one is filled. Even on insignificant tournaments the contests fill up. The main $0.50 gpp is gone as usual before I can get an entry in it. – The $12 single entry already has another lowball one out there, instead of giving us a contest with those extra slots. – Every week the “Round $8” usual fills before I can think as well, and goes through 3 cycles of new $8gpp, each time (applies to weekend one as well with it’s wonky player pricing as well.) – The Euro this week would’ve been interesting to play (should’ve been obvious compared to the normal tournaments and field) but the large gpp isn’t even worth the time, and there actually isn’t a single attractive contest offered. I’d have at least gifted someone some money with a hipshot lineup or two if there was something I could get more than $100 for placing 10th in. – The 20 max $3 contest an $1 contest have awful incentives and fill up anyways.

Solution: – Take another look at your data for entries into these contests and adjust the size accordingly (i’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that it is just off accidentally and not for more obvious reasons.) Considering i’ve never had a gpp fill up on me for nfl 18 hours before the contest starts, something is off.

We have seen no complaints about the reliability of our line and upcoming filters in the newly updated Lineups page. These problems may still occur when using the legacy pages found by clicking “Switch to Old Layout”, that is because the Old Layout is scheduled to be removed from the website shortly.

We have received mostly praise about our new design, can you be a little more specific about your opinion that we should “keep the page clean”?

Your opinion about lineup progress and copy/paste has been shared with our developers, this is great feedback which was counter to most of the opinions we received during the research and development of the new page design, it’s always good to hear more points of view -the more data we have, the better our decisions become. thnx!

Were the 1000 crowns from the 6/24 soccer bonus given out? I saw the other 4 days hit my accounts, but not that one.

To the best of our knowlege, yes they were. If you suspect there was a problem, please email us at support@draftkings.com

Outstanding feedback, thank you very much for sharing!

did you guys get rid of the .10 cent contests for the MLB showdowns? I looked the two contests for today, and only saw .25 cent ones

We do not offer $.10 MLB Showdowns on a daily basis, they are reserved for days where there are no conflicting issues that may borrow player liquidity. On most days the smallest contest is $.25, but we certainly do incorporate $.10 when the scenario calls for it.

Can confirm, I had the same case from PGA achievements on June 30th that I claimed July 1, but I quoted this post in my ticket to support and they bumped my tier for the new month!

It is no secret that we want you to have a positive experience while chasing your rewards tiers. Glad to hear we did the right thing once again, feedback like yours make our support team really proud!.

Even on insignificant tournaments the contests fill up. The main $0.50 gpp is gone as usual before I can get an entry in it. – The $12 single entry already has another lowball one out there, instead of giving us a contest with those extra slots. Considering i’ve never had a gpp fill up on me for nfl 18 hours before the contest starts, something is off.

A major part of our job is to do our absolute best to size contests so they will fill. For NFL a well sized contest predicts the total number of entries, and fills within the hour before lock. PGA is a bit different, we size our contests to fil around midnight before the lock. This may seem counter intuitive, so it’s helpful to be reminded that it is in our best interest, as well as the best interest of our players, to size contests as big as possible (provided they fill of course). PGA contests start very early in the morning, unfortunately the vast majority of entries are submitted the night before, prior to the 11PM hour. Between 11PM and the start of the contest we see very few entries submitted, the fewer the entries the greater the risk that we cannot not fill the contest. Therefore our goal is to get as close to filling as possible before midnight, because that is when our predictions are most accurate. If we did not fill, then the side effect could be smaller contests, and that is not good for you (or us!).

The retirement bonuses for best of 5 in Tennis are too small

We disagree, the retirement bonus is a consolation prize in addition to the points earned during the match prior to retirement, it is not our intention to encourage fans to root for a retirement to score. In the event of a retirement, both players will be awarded fantasy points for all statistics accrued up until the point of the retirement. The player who did not retire will receive a Win by Retirement statistic for the set in which the retirement occurred. The Win by Retirement Bonus reflects the combined total for the Match Won and Win by Retirement stats.

Not sure how long this is available but I am playing a NBA Summer league showdown and noticed you added a percentage for each player for how many people drafted them in the captain spot. This is an awesome addition- great job and thanks!

Thanks for the explanation on DK’s estimate of when the contests are supposed to fill. The fill time is still way off though on the more popular contests (the $0.50 gpp, $12 and down single entries, etc.)…….why we need the reserve entry button to let us select how many reservations we want.

I haven’t read through the entire thread so I apologize in advance if this has been answered. Why is your payout structures so top heavy? I love to play the $1 mini max, but the payout structure is terrible. 1st should be 10% of the prize pool, and 10th should be 10% of 1st place. The way it is now, 10th is a little more than 2% of 1st place which is ridiculous in my opinion. There has to be a good explanation for this as I have not heard from one single player who likes this.

    Thank you.

I LOVE the top-heavy payout structures for many reasons. I get frustrated by the $1 mini-max sometimes because I love to play them but I want the top prize to be 15%, 20% or even 25% of the total pool. I would max out the mini-maxes occasionally on a great slate if the prizes were more top-heavy. If I’m running 100+ entries into a tournament, I’m not trying to get back like 130% of my entry fees, I want to win the damn thing and have the payoff be as big as possible when I do. If I wanted to amass a bankroll with consistent small wins built up over the course of a season, I’d play double/triple ups and H2Hs. Just call me Ricky Bobby!

  • humanash

I have a question too speaking of top prizes – I really appreciate in this thread getting a little look behind the scenes of how decisions are made, tournies are sized, payout structures determined, etc. I’d love a little of that insight into why the MLB Showdown tournaments for the All Star Game are so much smaller this year than last year. Last season’s Showdown tourney for the All Star Game made it as much for me to watch as it was when I was a kid! If anything, I was expecting the tournies and prizes to increase over last year given the anticipated boost in popularity of the format based on the scoring changes/captain slot addition from last season and overall emphasis on the Showdown format. For the biggest tournament, having a top prize 50% of last year’s along with a 20% bigger buy-in is disappointing. I don’t remember the exact details for all the other tournaments, but it seems like the $4 20-max and the $1 mini-max (both of them) are sized down significantly. Obviously I’ll still be playing plenty and it will probably be my overall single favorite DFS day of the year, but I can’t help but wonder about the changes. I’m also curious about the 2 different mini-max tounries, seems awkward to have it split up that way, but maybe I’m missing some benefit to the multiple tournies? Any insight/explanation would be much appreciated.
