Regarding duplicate lineups. Just brainstorming here, this is probably a silly idea but what about not letting duplicate lineups exist at all.

Make a contest so that if one person enters a lineup, no other person trying to submit that lineup can do it. They get a message or alert, saying, “This lineup gas been submitted already”. There is an advantage to entering the contest early as less people have entered lineups you can duplicate. If someone edits their lineup, they cant change it to one that someone already has. There are many issues with this that would need to be addressed. Like what happens with late swap or what happens if two people click submit at the same time with the same lineup etc..

That wouldn’t work in anything over a 10-50 person contest. I hand build my lineups and when I play the big contest it isn’t uncommon to have 1-3 duplicates (better than a 250 person train).

I can 100% say I would quit playing if I found a lineup on my own that I really liked and wouldn’t be allowed to play it. That would just be a terrible experience for everyone.

It would also make it impossible to play 150 lineups via csv as the odds of building 150 lineups with 0 duplicates would be impossible.

A message that says if a lineup exists or not would just be exploited. Someone will just make a bot to enter a bunch of different lineups to see what lineups already exist.

Generally speaking we prefer our Terms of Use to speak for itself, however there is no mention of ”excluding 2 injured or irrelevant players”, in fact the first time the DK Community Team has heard anyone make that claim was in the past 2 weeks. The Terms explicitly state that a requirement is multiple, substantive, independent decisions by the users in order to generate a lineup

    https://www.draftkings.com/terms-of-use

If you know of an optimizer that is not compliant with our terms of use, please email us at gameintegrity@draftkings.com. DraftKings reserves the right to enforce its Terms of Use if DraftKings, in its sole discretion, determines that the services provided by a content provider’s platform (including but not limited to websites, mobile applications, or social media accounts) is detrimental to the Company brand or brands, including, without limitation, in any manner that is disparaging or that otherwise portrays DraftKings in a negative light, or has a negative impact on the integrity of DraftKings’ product or business operations.

This is a crazy idea, but would you ever consider making an injured player (who’s going to obviously get a 0) some negative price (say -3k for an NBA player).

Salaries are calculated before contests are posted. Injury status may be assumed, but it is often not known until the 30 min window prior to lock.

With that said, your suggestion has been noted. We also monitor all feature and product suggestions emailed to our Customer Support team at support@draftkings.com.

Though this is an interesting idea, our technical capabilities limit us from offering a variant of this nature at this time. It’s important to note the user experience roadblocks your suggestion could present, where later entries into a contest like this would likely take multiple attempts to find an eligible lineup – while gaining a possible strategic advantage of knowing when a lineup has already been chosen. The future is undetermined however, maybe we move in a direction which would allow contests to limit entries of unique lineups someday, or maybe we don’t.

Daily Fantasy is always evolving & DraftKings intends to stay at the forefront of innovation – although in today’s model your suggestion would not work, as we continue to evolve the game, anything is possible.

Your strategy sounds good in theory, but it is not practical because as you mentioned it can be exploited. I literally can submit a ton of lineups into a contest that has like some “famous users.” Then if it rejects me on these X lineups, I know that’s what “those users” have. Assuming they are +EV players, I will then just copy that lineup into any contest that currently does not contain those users.

There would be a ton of issues with your idea, not trying to criticize you or anything but rather brainstorming some potential issues.

How long do we have to claim Missions? I’m wondering if I can leave up Missions that will clear tomorrow 12/29 until January 1 so they count for next month. At times I’ve forgotten to claim them and seen them still available the next day, but I don’t if a few days is too long.

I know I’ve waited a couple days before claiming them but don’t know the limit. You might get a faster answer chatting with their support directly.

I won a ticket for playing 17 weeks in NFL. It expires on Jan. 4th 2020. There aren’t any contests in the lobby at this time where I can use. What contest(s) will the ticket be available for?

    Nevermind.
Just got the automatic entry into the contest. A Freeroll with 1 winner out of a few hundred thousand entries to win a package to the Super Bowl. No other prizes.
Wow. So excited. Can’t wait to see how many ties.

I’ve always wondered – can I use crowns to do daily mission? There’s always that “play in any 1 dollar plus contests” daily mission.

Yes. What I usually do is use them to buy a ticket in the contest amount first. Then use it to get mission. But probably works just entering crown s.

The user who won the nfl playoff millionaire, “jaderoper” very obviously colluded with her husband in order to get around the 150 max entry limit. What actions or investigations are you taking on this?

DK will likely say they investigated it and will do nothing and not tell us anything about the investigation. People will complain and they will say investigations are confidential – Which is silly. There is a reason everything that happens in court is public and DK should do the same (With necessary vetting of personal information) They did Tweet @ her with a rose joke but then deleted it so who knows what will happen. Hopefully something does happen but with the plans of going public announced the last thing they need is a cheating scandal with two “celebrities” involved.

  • jayzee666

I like how DK changed the rules last minute for the PGA Cut Maker achievement so that No Cut events are NOT counted. I did hear that they are allowing the Bacherlor and Bachorlette to keep their crowns though!
At least I have one less sport that I will play this year!!

Oh yeah, Make it Reign – the answer for all of their problems!!

  • mtdurham

Serious question: If DraftKings is not going to enforce their Terms of Service why even have them in place?

Do you not recognize the seriousness of this negligence? This is absolutely lawsuit worthy stuff.

  • IronMonkey415

Yea that MAKE IT REIGN phrase belong to the REIGNMAN that use to play for the Seattle SuperSonics.
They need to come up with a new slogan.

I will have to say that as much as I defend DK this one really irritated me as well. I read through all of the terms and conditions for the PGA achievements and decided to be dumb and chase the 7,025 crowns for an extra month of Platinum status. I ended up putting in 125 lineups into this past weekend’s event only to find out Thursday morning that the “(No Cut Event’s Excluded)” was added to the terms. Of course since all of my contests were full I wasn’t allowed to WD anymore.

It is listed clear as day in the terms so there is no way I would have missed that early in the week when I looked them to decide how many entries I was going to play for the week. I did hear through the grapevine that DK refunded entries for the people that reached out and complained about this change on Thursday. I didn’t do that as at the end of the day I still made the decision to enter the contests that I did even though I ended up losing more than the entire achievement is worth on the opening weekend and got no credit for it. That part is irritating but I will live with it.

DK, you guys should withhold the $1M from jaderoper, refund their entry fees for the week and at least a one year ban from DFS contests on the site. This is a civil issue so circumstantial evidence is enough to justify this decision as it’s not a criminal case that needs to be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. After reading these forums and hearing a lot of the industry commentary I think there is a clear consensus among your high volume customers that these two need to be made an example of in order to show that there are consequences for playing multiple accounts to circumvent the 150 limit which is especially impactful on short slates. I play about $100,000 in DK entries a year, and I know that’s not much compared to others, but if DK pays out this $1 million to the users that violated the community guidelines and TOS I will take all my play to other DFS sites and recommend to others to do the same.
