:( i wanted to play skinny lowry

But there are Federal laws exempting it. Sounds like someone trying to make a name for themselves.

Isn’t FD HQ in NY can they still operate at all?

Rent the building out to H&R Block throw April, them maybe sell some lemonade.

Seriously, of course. But they might want to relocate.

There are only Federal laws (UIGEA) that allows funding of accounts for fantasy sports.

That’s my point. AG seems to have an agenda as his definition conflicts with nearly a decade of Federal non-intervention.

New York has the highest percentage of daily fantasy players of any state, per @EilersResearch.

I just heard about this on Prime Time Sports up here in Canada. It was definitely a “Wow!” moment. That’s a huge state to lose.

Al, STL, loves, naapstermaan, birdwings, condo, Dan, Dave Kitchen, Dink, Dave Loughran, hell even fucking Max, why haven’t any of you stepped up? Made yourself available to these jackals who have been writing uninformed hit pieces and not been at the forefront? It would have been TREMENDOUS to have had people explaining how some of these moronic comments and critiques have no base. Instead, you all laid back and waited to have “no comment” and just “let the facts surface for themselves.”

As a New Yorker I’m truly saddened by this news. Ordering an immediate C&D is a pretty brash move by the AG. This will end up in the Court of Appeals in NY if FD and DK have any sort of backbone.

  • hpharri1994

As ridiculous as this ruling is, the sites brought it on themselves. They were reckless and greedy.

  • dmarmo

NY state..the state where you can bet on horses, play lotto and even if you’re in jail for 20+ violent felonies they release you from jail for “drug treatment” so you can go murder cops.

but you can’t drink soda and play DFS. Makes no sense

  • YoAlb

anyone know which states are next? i am in NJ and this is getting kinda close

  • captainsp3

This is it to me guys. NY probably has one of, if not, the largest DFS consumer base in the U.S. I was okay when I heard the news about PA and NJ because I thought maybe with a little debate and regulation, things could be worked out and be solved.

This is something that is NOT okay though. The comments by Schneiderman are absolutely disgusting and makes me realize how little he knows about the industry. It’s crazy to me that ONE PERSON can make this decision and not even hold hearings or start legislation for debate on the subject. It is a violation of the basic principles of democracy.

At some point people need to get a backbone and make their voice heard here. Sickening that I can’t spend my money the way I want to. Sickening that it’s okay for me to spend millions of dollars on the NY State lotto and be okay, but putting research and a few hundred dollars every week as a side hobby is illegal.

Obviously the players need to step up to make some sort of change happen, and that’s right now.

If anyone has money tied up at this point, that’s their own fault. This has been coming for some time.

  • Jordan10293

It’s gambling man get over it. This still could have been prevented if sites and EMPLOYEES were more careful. Everyone didn’t just want one hand in the basket they wanted both

  • joejr76

Sooooo what happens to the conference this weekend?

God I Love NY, they just keep coming up with new ways to keep me living here.

Oh and thank you Fanduel and Draftkings for bringing this upon the DFS community, with your stupid commercials.
