Just starting this thread as the old thread is sort of off topic. We are past that first drop now and these are pretty exciting.

Now if I could just get something under 15,000 place in line to get one!

For reference, someone sold #2/1500 for $1,500 in 3 minutes.

I had just got done thinking about #4 and 500/1500 when you posted 500/1444. Really was perfect

  • jki7p6

This market blows. I have zero interest in last 2 drops today.

Why are people selling for $1 profit? Seriously cmon

    bots and scripts

same happens on topshot. It’s nonsensical.

Anyway, I got the first, missed 2 and 3, and I may get 4

    yes! got #378

  • Tinderbox2014

so the best numbers to get are 1-11, correct?

    lower numbers are better.

Exception is if people find a certain number significant. There’s a lot of discussion in this thread about birthdays, years, jersey number, etc.

But the general rule is lowest is most valuable.

I bought Sapphire #3 for $750. I sold it for $999 minutes later. I consider this a win for today.

  • Tinderbox2014

sure lower the better. 8 gold medals gotta be nice. then 11 world championships

It is safe to say Autograph NFT’s are close to dead before the regular season even starts. The secondary market is run by bots and not worth looking at for the average guy and now you can’t even do a quick flip for $5 on these premieres.

Too much more of this preseason dilution and they will start killing the queues and crush any hopes of getting new users to be excited about the future of this project.

I think they have way too many cards for each athlete. Emerald and Sapphire are just so random! Pretty happy about the one I hit today though.

I told myself I was not going to hit the secondary market for bolt but did end up buying a #17 serial Platnium for $40 as I thought that low of serial number for that price was fairly low risk.

and this is the preseason-if I understand it correctly there will be more launches with the same athletes which will water down the value of the existing nfts =there are TONS of athletes they could do-doing repeats would in my opinion destroy the value of the ones already dropped

The regular season drops they have target drop prices of $50 to $200 so if they pump out 10,000 of each athlete there and keep the 15% fee structure I don’t foresee many of those being able to sell for a profit anytime soon.

    Bolt cards are absurdly low… $25, $35, $60… $9.25 profit, $4.75 profit, $1 profit.

Why in the world would you win a $50 drop and sell it for a $1 profit??

I got a bad feeling that the Bolt drop might be a sign of things to come…

Obviously the athlete involved has a big impact on price…. but something seems like we’re about to see the market start dropping across the board here soon.

It can drop, but there’s a limit. I think it’ll take a long time before people who won drops sell their cards for a loss.

Let’s also not forget that DK and Autograph probably put a lot of money in that and need people to sell cards to make money. They need volume, but also higher prices. With the biggest sport legends all signing up for it, I don’t think they can just abandon it before it even started!

Im strongly considering dumping my Emerald for zero profit. I havent been able to near min profit give away it and want off this ride. Zero interest for me on his signature drops tomorrow.

Edit: Selling it at 58.84 to get my $50 back. Been available for 5 minutes or so now. Even the bots are set for og buys to take a loss :( otherwise this would have been scooped up

Edit 2: Took almost 10 minutes to sell at that price. That shouldnt happen.

I’m not giving up just yet. Cards have gone very up and very down for no apparent reason, or at least no reason that I can think of. Human nature makes us want to sell now to avoid losing too much, but it might as well be a terrible time to sell and a wonderful one to buy.

Anyway, selling at even money is fine. I just wouldn’t sell at a loss. I want to sell my #4 Emerald Bolt and Platinum Brady so I can reimburse everything I paid yet and just make some money with my 11 other cards!

  • realphipps

I think the actual marketplace has a lot to do with it. The volume of cards will obviously kill these over time, but another reality of this is millions of potential consumers were introduced to this entire NFT concept through the widely-reported fiasco with the Brady drop. That was a national news maker, and not just ESPN.

In the weeks since then, the overwhelming constant when it comes to DK Marketplace isn’t the athletes, or the drops, or even the market… It’s almost slapstick comedy at this point, just how rampant the cheating is, and just how cool DK is with it, and just how much we talk about it.

For me personally, that’s by far the biggest red flag in this whole matter. The ambilocal cord has just been cut, and already, within the first few breaths of this being’s life being born, blatant cheating has already been normalized.

If it took literally milliseconds for cheating to be established as an acceptable norm, what’s 2022 look like?

I agree -first drops they had a chance to see what was going on and stop it-everybody that I know went from super excited about these NFTS to now not even bothering at this point . I toyed with the idea of making a few big purchases and glad I did not as their is no transparency on many issues. I didnt participate in the bolt drop nor will I for the rest of it but I imagine the demand as shown in the secondary market is terrible. I think the secondary market in general is going to be terrible -too high of a rake and no idea what is coming down the pipeline -with hundreds of athletes to pick form going back to the same athletes that already dropped would be terrible

  • osuryanf

I know me personally I am taking an extended break from the secondary market until the roadmap is explained in detail. I personally think Autograph/DK is overloading the market with too many athletes right now. Let the market play out the next few months with what you have out there. Heck, you’re clearing 15% on every single purchase (this has to go down by the way if you want to sustain long term success).

Just not much interest in the secondary market anymore. There’s obvious cheating/scripting and it’s totally taken the joy out of even exploring the market IMO.

  • osuryanf

Also not sure if you’ve been paying attention but the secondary market has been in free fall this last week. For example:

    October 1st

Low ask on Tiger Platinum: $236

    October 7th

Low ask on Tiger Platinum: $164

And it’s not just that one. Across the board they all seem to be dropping rather substantially.

Yep, same with every athlete. Brady Carbon was $700 lowest for a few days. Now it’s half of that!

  • bigez952

They announced the next athlete as Gronk. He might show a little more than Bolt who is 100% worthless if you care about making a profit.
