      RG Overall Ranking

    • 2020 DraftKings FHWC Champion

    • 2021 DraftKings FHWC Finalist

So DK tweeted out millionaire maker ownership here http://playbook.draftkings.com/nfl/millionaire-maker-percent-owned-week-3/ which as of 230pm still includes ownership data for games that have not yet started. IMO this is a big leak and should never happen. It also seems like something that your average analyst should probably not have access too, and able to tell his buddies who is owned and who the best players have. Hey did you know that CSURAM has Randall Cobb going late? Given that they can access the macro results it seems probable they can access specific users during and/or before contests start.

They definitely should no be sharing it publicly, if they’re going to do it just list the full rosters in the contest and call it a day.

The field report gives us an idea of what ownership percentages are going to be for Sunday…..so we have the same kind of information to be successful….I love playing DFS and hate that it’s getting shown in a bad spotlight

The point is that all the data they have internally can be used in ways we cant even imagine here. It is a game of skill and with the data they have the we dont even understand how they track or utilize it. They also literally manipulate player value with editorial content. They can put out an article suggesting a player be faded and watch in real time those ownership rates drop.

They could literally move the market on a number of players they like and clean up.

If you compare this to stocks analysts have to at least disclose and prove what positions they have in the stocks they are touting.

At this point if you dont realize this is all getting shut down in the near term you will be coldly surprised when it happens.

So true. The elephant in the room…the DFS employees & their love for the action & $$

So if this guy just won $350k, plus he was cleaning up in MLB, etc. then why keep the day job if you are so good and can keep winning? Why keep the day job? Why…keep….the….day….job….? Hmmmm…. Why?

There’s literally nothing you can find by just looking at his lineups in tournaments he’s won that will sway anyone from their current stance.

Yep, but about 50 pages are filled with people asking your same question.

Have we heard from any of the other sites about this? What are they doing about this very thing?

    FantasyFeud?
    FantasyDraft?
    StarsDraft?
    DraftPot?
    Yahoo?
    DraftDay?
    FantasyAces?
    StarFantasy?
    DraftOps?

The list goes on, what are these sites waiting for? A huge story to come out?

Publish your policy, release all your workers screen-names on ALL the sites and look like the site with an understanding of how this type of shit works!

This is about DATA INTEGRITY on these sites. This mistake just exposed the fact that there MAY be a big problem with data integrity and that data can be used by employees to their advantage. That is what needs to be addressed. Having this specific data before the games or if this data provides an advantage doesn’t matter at this point. There is data on these sites that can help people win and if that is available before lineups are locked than that is a huge problem.

    …Well said!

Yep. We couldn’t care less about the integrity of the game or the business practices of the companies that run it. We just can’t stand this Ethan guy. Keep telling yourself that.

Honestly there have been multiple problems with these sites throughout the years and they just always put out a BS statement and ignore us. It was only a matter of time they got big enough where they have to quit ignoring the problems. If being in the spotlight it was it takes for them to finally fix all these issues then so be it. As a player these changes will benefit you. It needs regulation.

And because anything anyone finds will be easily explainable because he’s still just building MLB DFS lineups. There will still be high owned stacks, there will still be low owned stacks, etc. Nothing you see in any lineup will be even remotely close to conclusive evidence that he utilized ownership information to inform his decision. It’s a waste of time.

Draftkings hasnt even put a statement on their own site. When the sites added scripts they told no one. If these guys had avatars it would be an Ostrich with their head in the ground.

DK needs to come put publicly and state who has access to % information and what will be done in the future to keep it private. Stating that we have safeguards in place doesn’t cut it. If you had safeguards in place, there wouldn’t be a 103 page thread.

  • srolleDFS

    @JimmyTango said...

    That literally proves nothing.

All that matters are the two established facts: 1) employees at DK had access to privileged ownership info, and 2) they had the wherewithal to use it to their advantage on other DFS sites.

No one has made any attempt to disprove this. I’ve said it a million times, and I’ll say it again: It DOES NOT MATTER whether or not Ethan cheated. What matter is he COULD HAVE if he wanted to, and this fact — WHICH NO ONE HAS EVEN ATTEMPTED TO DISPUTE — alone is enough to compromise the integrity of the game.

i dont think anyone watching CNBC or reading the new york times cares about your number 1 or your number 2.

they care about whether someone cheated. did someone get rich by cheating.

    thats the story. t

he rest is important to us, but basically meaningless to the rest of the world.

They should have a Pro’s only site, and let them dual each other with their scripts and algorithms and sharing of data. Leave the working man alone.

I am a working man that has beaten the pros and now I am one of them. what site am I approved to play on?

    DK KoTH winner

I feel like people are working under a couple of assumptions right now that by all accounts are false.

    1) Ethan has the ability to query the database himself.
    2) Ethan was sent this information prior to lock and used it to “cheat”

Draftkings has said that #2 is incorrect and that is up to you if you don’t believe them. I would suggest you pull your money from the site if you honestly don’t trust that statement. As for #1 at no point in any discussion has it been said that Ethan accessed or pulled this data himself. These are two fundamental errors in the logic behind a lot of these post in this thread.

I urge you to instead insist that FD and DK make us aware of the following

    1) Who does have access and in what capacity (beyond ownership percentages).
    2) What policies were in place to verify the data was protected.
    3) What if any changes will be implemented.

this is another he won… his is also plastered all over the bottom of the leader board on this one. seems like the same strategy as the first. stack 4, pick some accessories… his one that finished 9th from the last accessorized with McCann who was 30% owned. everyone knows mccann is going to be crazy high ownership at home against any medium to bad picture. if he was going for the low owned, this is definitely completely counterproductive.

this looks exactly like all of my big wins. ton of lineups, 1 hits it big, some others do well, and alot of bottom dwellers. No one can use “inside info” to win at DFS, the players that are playing, they dont care about any of us, they will still hit HRs or get injured or suck however they please. And Trout doesn’t know if he is 40% owned or 2% owned. This whole thread is excused for people who have lost to justify WHY they have lost, and instead of blaming themselves, they blame the CHEATERS, THE HORRIBLE CHEATERS

FACT ABOUT ME – i was losing bigtime in MLB all the way till July, and I mean like 20K in debt bigtime. But then i changed my strategy, ALL ON MY OWN, NO CHEATING (can u believe that???), and i started to win HUGE, cuz i got the hang of it. And now here i am, not complaining about other pros winning.

well said. now here’s hoping the responses aren’t of the PR speak ilk we’ve received so far. the DFS community isn’t a bunch of babies; we’re typically an educated bunch that can decently grasp numbers. a step-by-step approach to prevent potential data trading, with some concrete data to alleviate concerns, would do a world of good for the industry in general.

I neither trust nor not trust DK; I’m neutral, just as I am about any billion-dollar corporation whose product I enjoy but whose inner-workings I have no clue about, at least insofar as data security. as a result I would just like to see safeguards in place and a willingness to remedy the issues, both occurring and potential issues. I haven’t seen that yet but it’s still early.

Gonna go work on solving global warming. Seems like an easier project.

I understand this site trying their best to protect the DFS industry, but “When there is smoke, there is fire” works 20 fold here.
