So DK tweeted out millionaire maker ownership here http://playbook.draftkings.com/nfl/millionaire-maker-percent-owned-week-3/ which as of 230pm still includes ownership data for games that have not yet started. IMO this is a big leak and should never happen. It also seems like something that your average analyst should probably not have access too, and able to tell his buddies who is owned and who the best players have. Hey did you know that CSURAM has Randall Cobb going late? Given that they can access the macro results it seems probable they can access specific users during and/or before contests start.

They definitely should no be sharing it publicly, if they’re going to do it just list the full rosters in the contest and call it a day.

I can’t wait until the smoking gun is found and everyone here that had their head in the sand ends up looking really bad.

Why do you want that? That would not be a positive for the future of DFS.

Maybe you don’t play on DK

For the 1pm slate, players and ownership data is hidden for the 4pm games and later.

The ownership data was leaked out to the public before 4pm.

This is what caused the uproar and is what the author of the article is referencing.

    /edit

OK I see what you mean. We’re on the same page now.

All good. Misunderstanding. It reminds me of the blue/black dress vs the white/gold dress. Everybody see’s something different, lol.

And for the record. I’m team white/gold dress

48 million adults play DFS? Wow, that’s a lot of votes. Election season, Who wants to be popular or unpopular? lol, We’ll see if anything gets done at the federal level. PS – isn’t there a federal shutdown fight about to happen in November? That or DFS? The controversy may be loud, but don’t think anything happens until 2016.

Let’s say I gave you all the ownership totals for the upcoming NFL weekend. What would you do? You would scan the list in search of players who you BELIEVE are terribly under or over owned. All this would do is prove that you disagree with the public on some players. So what? What does this do for you? Nothing, because your BELIEFS are not FACTS. Just because you disagree with the public doesn’t mean you are going to be right. So many are acting like this ownership info gives the results of the games before they are even played.

What strikes me as so weird is that anyone who plays these games thinks they are better than the public. However, at the same time, these same people want to place so much value on what the public thinks (% ownership rates of the public). That just doesn’t make sense.

It’s a perceived edge by the dumbed down public but it’s not an actual edge. What other people have for players does not matter to anyone who plays successfully. You are 100% right with your post, you should post more, a voice of logic reasoning.

I’m pretty sure thats 48 million play fantasy sports, not DFS.

I tend to disagree. The sites have a lot of powerful backers with skin in the game. The AG’s will find out whats what, the speculation will be over, the adjustments will be made and the rottenness (if it exists) cut out

I mean, the inquiry is already happening. The outcome would most likely be worse if actual wrongdoing is taking place. The outcome would most likely be better if no wrongdoing is found and FD and DK can demonstrate strong existing protocols/restrictions around their data.

95% of them posters in here just want to watch something burn…don’t really care if it’s dk or if it’s ethan. The insanity caused most of the news “articles”. I hate that dk’s pathetic pr dept didn’t respond to this a fricken week ago and I hate that ignorant people stirred up a friggan mob on here and created the completely inaccurate news articles that everyone is taking as fact now. It’s an insanely frustrating situation that was handled as poorly as possible.

You don’t know dik about math or statistics..

OK, then explain to me where I am wrong. That should be so easy for a statistical genius like you.

All this ownership information shows is what the public thinks about a player(s). That’s it. Either you agree or disagree with the public. If you disagree, you will act. You are BETTING on your BELIEF that you know better than the public. Math and statistics are not based on beliefs or human actions. To say the least, humans, even statistical geniuses, are irrational.

The Chief technology officer must be in some hot water. I haven’t listened to this bc I don’t care but someone will. The brief explanation of what they talk about says unpredictable events, customer data etc… May be a good listen and give some answer to people. Highly doubt it. And don’t even Know if that’s really him but he is a real guy according to linked in. I’m positive you all will let me know what he says.

After playing for a year, I have noticed that the vast majority of big tournament winners are newly created accounts with 1 or 2 previous wins…obvious ghost accounts. The winning teams always have some obscure player that no one on their right mind or a football fan would’ve purchased.

I don’t see how keeping the status Quo is an improvement and IMHO DFS will not die. If there is wrongdoing, long term we benefit by bringing it out. All this speculation on both sides of the issues cannot be a healthy thing to let continue

The moral of the story is to stay away from playing the big tournaments that have big payouts. Stick to the tournaments where the top prizes are $5,000 and below

Oh, I didn’t mean keep the status quo – since this broke employees are already not allowed to play on competitor sites, which is now very clearly a good move.

I don’t think your taking into account it could be banned at the state level and what would happen to your funds? It doesn’t have to be federal…… but I’m no lawyer. And thanks to the guy lawyer up top for commenting

If it gets banned in a state, they give you until a deadline to withdraw your funds. Whatever the last state to get banned, I remember they made a statement about it. When laws pass, they rarely go into effect immediately as there will always need to be time to transition and educate the public.

    Ahh shiz. Anyone from CALIFORNIA?

    http://asmdc.org/members/a21/news-room/press-releases/assemblymember-gray-takes-lead-on-protecting-fantasy-sports-consumers

This sounds positive, BTW. Not an outright ban, but wants guardrails. Maybe everyone can agree, including the industry.

    Single Entry Only?

    Think about it.

    Single Entry Only?

Hmmm. Bad for FD and DK no doubt.

Nice. Didn’t know that….. I ask bc I plan on winning contests this weekend.
