So DK tweeted out millionaire maker ownership here http://playbook.draftkings.com/nfl/millionaire-maker-percent-owned-week-3/ which as of 230pm still includes ownership data for games that have not yet started. IMO this is a big leak and should never happen. It also seems like something that your average analyst should probably not have access too, and able to tell his buddies who is owned and who the best players have. Hey did you know that CSURAM has Randall Cobb going late? Given that they can access the macro results it seems probable they can access specific users during and/or before contests start.

They definitely should no be sharing it publicly, if they’re going to do it just list the full rosters in the contest and call it a day.

Just curious, but how does anyone know his cash rate percentages or ROI? The only thing that would show in his profile here are top 20% cashes.

the data is from a database that scrapes the results from every posted DFS contest, ever heard of webscraping?

The folks saying that knowing ownership percentages don’t give you an advantage are either not intelligent or saying it to down play the issue. I can promise you or better yet bet you that if you put that info in my hands I could take down multiple large gpp tourneys in one weekend. Honestly if your not trying to guess ownership percentages when playing DFS you’re not going to do well.
People having access to ownership percentages is unacceptable.
I have met Ethan this isn’t about him I’m not after him. I’m after controlling ownership percentages and keeping them locked away until tourneys are over. We all pay rake on every play… What is this money for??!! It supposed to be for the site development and fair play. Seems there hasn’t been fair play as of late!!
The other folks that are suggesting that everyone should see live ownership… No thanks that’s a horrible idea. Guys with script will have a huge advantage.
Am I the only one that has asked DK for a full return of all losses on NFL this year? If so….I am suprised that other folks don’t care their money was went into play while at a extremely unfair advantage.
P.s I will take NFL head to head challenges from any user that disagrees with me.. Just send me who your picking first.

The post about Ethan getting info and becoming a good player over the last post, they have to stop. We have been told multiple times he got this info after lock around 2pm est. If you don’t believe that, I’m sorry but stop posting about it.

There’s a lot of great conversation here, don’t ruin the thread with the a witch hunt.

Draftkings can end the speculation on when Ethan received the % very easily. We all just wish they had.

You guys are really missing the issue at hand.

My issue here, nothing has been answered but the sites saying they aren’t allowing this to happen.

The issue here back to my post on page 3.

“I see a lot that happens with this industry, and I spend more time on these forums than anyone else.

I think a few questions need to be answered before we all start making accusations.

    1. When was Ethan given this info (by the sounds of it, it was after the 1pm lock).
    2. Who is seeing lineups and player percentages on these sites before lock.
    3. What are sites doing to prevent this info from getting out.”

Couldn’t agree more. Too bad FD and DK gave us all the finger with their response of “We’ll look into it and it won’t happen again, LOL GFY

Fair enough. I won’t pretend to know much about web scraping, but I know it’s forbidden by the sites. So if someone has this information, then apparently the sites aren’t doing a very good job of monitoring it (shocking I know).

    1) I don’t think the majority care about Ethan….they want to make sure NO ONE has data that can be used to give to friends, family, etc. employees at other companies that can be used on their site or another site until contests are closed/locked. ALL LINEUP DATA SHOULD BE SECURED.
    2) Yes
    3) Yes

Before you jump to defend ‘Ethan’, what are the odds of winning four ‘Grand Slams’ in 35 days like he did? What are the odds of even one grand slam in a season, if not ever?

This kinda scandal is exactly what the DFS world needed to fast-track direct government regulation and oversight. Yay.

Agree with the above. Would be helpful to see a time stamped conversation or email of when data was sent to Ethan. Although there are surely people who will think that they just made changes to look like there was no wrong doing, but there really isn’t anything that would convince them IMO.

It seems that half of the responses are constructive, and the other half are people convinced Ethan cheated and want to voice that.

No, no you couldn’t. Does it have value? Sure. But you are tremendously overestimating that value. Especially when ownership percentages on Fanduel are ALREADY available from Thursday night contests.

    If you’re a +EV player with multi-entry it’s a lot higher than you think.

  • MikeMineo

beyond Ethan, is there anything stopping programmers/developers at DK/FD from having direct access to lineups and ownership %s (since they built the UI after all) and selling this data to high rollers?

again this issue isn’t about Ethan; it’s about how secure this data really is in regard to internal access.

one could envision a MENU FOR HIGH ROLLERS:

Ownership Data for NFL Week 4 – $10,000
Players Maxdalury Has More than 25% Exposure to – $40,000
    etc etc
a buffet for those with deep pockets

value of ownership is subjective by user and can not be evaluated in an objective manner

Heaters happen. Both my big wins came within 2-3 weeks of each other (slam win and payoff pitch win) and during that stretch I was crushing. Otherwise I have been hopeless.

I agree here. I think ownership % would be the most helpful in baseball.

Can someone explain why DK can’t wait until everyone locks before releasing ownership percentages for Ethans little playbook blog?

  • ebsteelers

does ownership percentage guarantee that bozo batting 9th is gonna hit a granny in the 9th to cash you a gpp?

    still gotta perform

No but it seems they didn’t have proper controls in place to prevent this. No reason he couldn’t wait until Tuesday once the contest is over.

Its not the bozo going off. Its the top player that is under owned in a good match up that not many are on that night.
