So DK tweeted out millionaire maker ownership here http://playbook.draftkings.com/nfl/millionaire-maker-percent-owned-week-3/ which as of 230pm still includes ownership data for games that have not yet started. IMO this is a big leak and should never happen. It also seems like something that your average analyst should probably not have access too, and able to tell his buddies who is owned and who the best players have. Hey did you know that CSURAM has Randall Cobb going late? Given that they can access the macro results it seems probable they can access specific users during and/or before contests start.

They definitely should no be sharing it publicly, if they’re going to do it just list the full rosters in the contest and call it a day.

How come the milly winners are not in our face as much as last year?? The Dan Militar guy was a ghost everyone was looking for and now I dont even know the winners from the last two weeks?

Writers are running with information that isn’t necessarily true though. That’s the only problem I have with the speculation. I’m fine with people voicing an opinion, but please fact-check before publishing something before the eyes of millions of viewers/readers.

    And further from the Times-Tribune:

“There are no allegations — or evidence — that the DraftKings employee used information about the percentage of players who drafted certain players in last week’s contest to finish in second place in the NFL Sunday Million contest run by FanDuel. The contest, which cost $25 to enter, featured $5 million in cash winnings, including $1 million to the winner.

But it is no secret in the daily fantasy industry that the kind of information the employee tweeted out could be used to draft fantasy teams that include players that aren’t in widespread use in any given contest. If those players perform well, the odds of the person holding them winning goes up dramatically.”

It’s the optics…nobody has said he used the info, but EVERYBODY is saying he had access to it.

this is the smoking gun..guys are using info to win..and even letting their friends win too..3 different forums have uncovered the aaron king/haskell connection already..could be the tip of the iceberg..

The connection was pointed out by someone else and I was just curious but WOW

    COME ON MAN.

Ethan works for DK and those guys were both on the sweat show a couple weeks ago. He probably folllowed them after seeing them. I saw the interview with Sanders, he is hired by companies to try to hack into their system as a way of testing their security. That is literally his job.

People are so thick on here, I don’t know why I am even reading this.

For real….if a guy tweets about being in the top whatever of the milly maker they are probably contacting him through twitter (do get him on the sweats show) and following him so they can retreat anything he says about draftkings/milly maker

Getting in on page 1 of this thread is pretty cool. Whether my assumption is correct is still TBD.

Hey Fanduel when and why did you remove the page of your very own Matt Boccio hitting it big on Draftkings?

Is there a connection between Aaron DaKing , Zach Sanders, and Ethan Haskell other than the fact that the last 2 follow DaKing on twitter, Sanders lists himself on twitter as a hacker and they all won big $ DFS with at least DaKing winning 150 2 weeks ago and Sanders winning 3rd on DK Millie the same weekend Haskell won on FD. I am not seeking conspiracies here but thought it curious

    https://twitter.com/Aaron_Da_King/followers

    There’s probably no connection

Aaron made that twitter account the day he won. Draftkings and Ethan probably gave him a follow after he won to get in contact for press stuff.

Or its one of the worst coverups of all time…

it’s downhill in such a bad way. just look at the comments on the DK twitter discussing the sweat show. all those commercials, attention drawn in and it’s crumbling.

Unbelievable that NYT, Deadspin, Forbes can all run with it as FACT that he had the ownership before lock when not only is that not proven, its also completely far fetched to me. Obviously it makes it a much juicier story though to completely overlook the fact that the entire “scandal” is based on an assumption that we don’t know is true.

I thought there was supposed to be journalistic integrity especially at places like the NYT? This thing has be legit worried about what is going to happen to DFS. I also think people here who are basically rooting for the sites to get the hammer are really not understanding what that would mean.

Chalk that up to poor PR management at DK/FD. You don’t wait for stories to gain steam then issue some weak stock statement. This is an issue where maybe you pull a couple of all-nighters formulating a response and plan of action rather than thinking it’ll blow over.

This story blowing up on twitter

  • mcgruffthecrimedog

With this kind of money out there, you know everyone is gonna try to get an “edge”. The fact remains that even if he had info on ownership percentages on DK, how does that help him on FD when prices are different? Also, most people on here could prob come within guessing ownership percentages in about a five percent range. Does that really change anything if you knew the exact percentage? I guarantee you there are much shadier things going on in DFS then this.

Well I’m not digging deep into the conspiracy, but I’m sure some people will to get the big scoop. Twitter followers are sorted in the order you started following them and if you match this up with other info you may be able to determine this info.(I’m not saying conspiracy but people will definitely be able to try to figure out the time line). I feel like I’m watching the Show Scandel……. I regard to thsee connections.

I totally get where you’re coming from considering the backlash potential for someone you must have a high level of respect for to be taking such a strong and unrelenting stand in defense of, but I consider your tactics here to be disingenuous. None of the players you mentioned PROVIDED US with reason to believe they had access to privileged information. You use incendiary phrases like “witch-hunt” which have no place in this discussion, and you justify it by pointing to accusations “without proof”. Questions are not accusations, and you don’t need proof to ask them. All you need is reasonable suspicion, which we undoubtedly have thanks to Ethan himself.

Agree completely. Anyone you mention this story to — without providing an opinion one way or another on DFS or anything— would agree that the wins look suspicious. Which is why players employed by the DFS industry shouldn’t be allowed to play in DFS. I serve in politics and am on a major board — if I could even POTENTIALLY financially benefit from something, you have to abstain and not participate in the decision. The fact is that employees have knowledge and access to things — and EVEN IF they do not access that data or EVER misuse it, the reason they should never, ever, play on another site is because of the appearance of it looks improper.

I work in the world of politics extensively, and I can tell you that this is just a huge invitation to get this stuff banned and/or regulated heavily. I generally favor no regulation of “games”, but as someone mentioned the other day, you’re basically headed towards the DFS version of the famous movie “Quiz Show”, in my view. I think that’s the big elephant in the room, here.

Its amazing to me that people are so focused on Ethan still. Like I said earlier, could he have had the information before 1pm? Sure. Did he? Who knows. This whole uproar shouldnt be about Ethan. It should be about Who/Why/How people have access to sensitive data.

Yeah, because none of the rest of us here are being reasonable and non-accusatory?

We just choose not to shill for the industry because they aren’t one of our paid business partners.
