So DK tweeted out millionaire maker ownership here http://playbook.draftkings.com/nfl/millionaire-maker-percent-owned-week-3/ which as of 230pm still includes ownership data for games that have not yet started. IMO this is a big leak and should never happen. It also seems like something that your average analyst should probably not have access too, and able to tell his buddies who is owned and who the best players have. Hey did you know that CSURAM has Randall Cobb going late? Given that they can access the macro results it seems probable they can access specific users during and/or before contests start.

They definitely should no be sharing it publicly, if they’re going to do it just list the full rosters in the contest and call it a day.

    agreed.

if Ethan was a KNOWN max-entry player, like maxdalury, then his numbers for MLB would still be quite difficult to believe, but A LOT more believable at least than hitting big nearly every day for a month with a few paltry entries per day. I still don’t see how one could get their core group of MLB players “spot on” almost every day in a month though… EVEN if they had maxdalury’s bankroll and tendency to max out every slate.

I mean, does anyone remember being in a contest with Ethan and seeing a TON of multi-entries he put in? AFAIK he never had that reputation as a HUGE multi-enter guy. whenever I’m in contests with him he certainly doesn’t have the multi-entry presence of some other high rollers, so that’s why it’s difficult for me to assume that his incredible run was helped by him putting in max entries every day.

either way, I guess we’ll never know since FD doesn’t have .csv capabilities

I can say WITH 100% FACT AND CERTAINTY that I have never ONCE had access to another person’s lineups or ownership data or anything “cheating” in nature.

    Stop it.

Ah, that’s what they all say. Don’t get so defensive if you haven’t done anything wrong.

My analogy is a bowling tourney I bowled in last year:

The owner let the local guys have the best lanes of the tourney and he let his son (who knew the oil patterns and highest scoring pairs) bowl in the tourney the max amount of times. His teams even were allowed to practice on the lanes the night before.

Needless to say the tourney went from the most attended and most popular to crickets after teams heard about this.

This is exactly what Dk and FD has to stop completely and hopefully soon…….

Why would Al Smizzle need a lawyer at this time? Going underground, once again, adds to optics. I think he has no connection to this at all and should not be changing his social media patterns. Just my opinion.

Honestly though what’s he going to say right now? Anything he says, he’s going to be attacked from one part of the crowd. I don’t blame him for being quiet or any of the “pros” for that matter. They can’t win no matter what they say at this time.

People need to understand that PR is more like a marriage then a court of law. In a marriage there is no difference between cheating on your wife and your wife perceiving you are cheating on her. They are one in the same.

    Just some food for thought:

If Ethan doesn’t finish second in the tournament and cash in $350K, does this story even get attention?

And with him releasing the data pre-lock on multiple games, nope. Because it never comes to light.

seems rash to call someone like einars a cheater just because you disagree with him. I disagree with several of his points too, but there’s absolutely no basis to call him a cheater.

missed where this happened. i think my results show that if i was a cheater i really really suck at it.

    ps. i’m not

We should stop making this a bigger deal than what it really is if we want DFS not to take such a huge hit. Sigh.

If they dont run A TRILLION COMMERCIALS in August, same question.

This is simply the latest issue in a long standing feud between 99% of their players and the sites. The sites have reacted with extreme impunity and continue to do so and it is finally going to bite them in their pockets.

Why aren’t any of the high profile DFS guys discussing this? Al Smizzle hasn’t tweeted in 17 hours. I cant remember 17 minutes without him tweeting.

No worries, once he gets his football bootcamp projections up, he’ll be spamming non-stop on twitter about it.

Who is everyone going with at QB on DK this week ?

Seems like Ryan will be a popular choice.

based on everything I’ve seen – both in terms of cached pages and my own year-long experience playing in some of the same contests – he’s not a max entry player by any means (at least prior to DK employment), hence the valid suspicion in regard to the run of success.

it’s certainly possible he decided to suddenly become a max entry player that month, but what would prompt such a philosophical shift? :/

again, not making any accusations, just trying to figure out how such a run is possible in a sport with as much variance – even assuming he max entered, which the small amount of data we have suggests he didn’t

Whatever you think about the merits of how important what has happened in the last week is, FD and DK need to take some of those marketing dollars and get professional crisis management people and regulatory experts on the payroll like, yesterday, or there’s not going to be an industry in six months. They are begging to be made an example of right now, and its only going to take one or two ambitious state AG’s to get the ball rolling.

ESPN removing in product integration of DraftKings tells you which way the wind is blowing. This is an existential threat to the industry, I hope the sites view it as such.

There’s a time for talking & a time for listening. Wild, rampant speculation/accusations have never helped anything. Only the facts matter.

Well that would be awesome if we EVER GOT FACTS.

The biggest joke in this thread is people saying if the New York Times printed it than it has to be true. A simple google search will point out to you all the inaccuracies in this thought pattern.

What is more concerning is that everyone here in this thread or at RG is a relative expert in the field or at least has more knowledge than a common reporter. I could easily post 12 more examples of the total outright lies the mainstream media is reporting as fact but here is one from Fortune.

A DraftKings employee, Ethan Haskell, had access to DraftKings ownership data, meaning that he may have seen which NFL players had been selected by DraftKings users, and by how many users. That would have helped him select his own lineup on FanDuel, because the two sites work so similarly and typically have the exact same “price” for each player in a given week.
