For those of you – like me, that sometimes put in 30+ lineups in one tournament. Isnt it frustrating when you go to “My Contests” and you have no idea which lineup is in each entry? You have to click on each entry to find out. Which sucks, when – like yesterday I was making last minute changes with the weather updates.

If we could NAME each individual lineup – like “Oakland Stack”, “Expensive Pitchers”, Phi-Mets Stack – then we could find these entries much faster.

Also, let’s say I found out with 2 minutes left that Vogt was out – I could just go to My Contests, skim over my various names for lineups. Click “Oakland Stack” and remove Vogt.

Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Draftkings is by far the one most willing to make changes and make their site better – I would LOVE to see this!

Agree, would be a great feature.

I am REALLY hoping that DK adds this feature soon…it is something I’ve been wanting for some time.

Imagine the convenience during NFL, where you can build lineups all week and then plug them into contests on Sunday morning after the inactives have been announced. Without some sort of way to organize those rosters, it is a very time-consuming venture otherwise…

    DK…are you out there?

Cool – Ive gotten positive response about this idea on twitter too. Maybe if some of the big name guys agree/bump/share this thread we can get word to draftkings.

    I can get behind this

You could just go to the “My Lineups” page, hit “CTRL+F”, and type in Vogt…

But I could see this being a good feature as long as those names don’t show up in the actual league standings. I could see people naming their lineups “maxdalury(10348)” just to get forums in a tizzy about multi-entry haha.

    Ctrl F is your friend

Totally agree. Have mentioned this in the past.

FWIW, FantasyScore has this feature. Good on them.

Well searching players isnt my main concern – Im more interested in labeling lineups so I can differentiate which is which by the name I gave them

  • ElSlappo

I really like the naming idea, hope they can make it work.

  • xMiami2Ibiza

    agreed. bump!

  • commandercoo1

I’ve had this idea for a long time, Fanduel needs it too, although not as desperately as DK. (The reason it would help on Fanduel is instead of scrolling through and looking at all the players faces I could Ctrl+F and search my lineup name.)

I would LOVE this feature, I have emailed both sites about it, and I’m about to email them again.

We should all email them if we can.

Someone could probably whip up a browser extension that would do this fairly easily. The site sends over the lineup ID as part of the “var lineupCardStates” and “var lineupIdToPlayerStats”. You’d just need a local database to match a name to a lineup ID (sort of like the FanDuel opponent stats extension already does), and then an input box to allow you to name the lineup.

It’s not super trivial, but it shouldn’t take an experienced web developer more than a day or two to whip up.

You said youre looking to find your lu in the my contests page? You can go to my contests group by “lineup” then itll show which contest u r in with each lu, so if you got player a.b.c.d etc in a 1,2,3$ itll list the lineup then all the contest and do it for each one.It is super quick this way, but I agree control F is effortless and fast

  • JSteele

If a rep from DK doesn’t show any sign of implementing this id make the browser extension. What do you guys prefer Chrome or Firefox?

  • CrazyGabey

Yeah this would be IDEAL for sure.

  • emac

FantasyFeud has been doing this…very nice for NFL/CFB

Yea – but I want to personalize my lineups. Also, lets say I used a few different strategies each week and I named my lineups “Expensive Pitchers”, “Cheap Pitchers”, “6 Man Stack Dodgers”, “4 Man Stack Dodgers” – THEN If I kept naming them week after week. I could easily look back at prior weeks results and see how each strategy is working.

  • Ballyhoo

I’m on Draftkings but not Fanduel.

Does Fanduel allow the naming of lineups? Also, does Fanduel let you research player history before selecting a contest to enter, for example I want to see how many FD points a particular QB has gotten over the last x games. Can I see that info before selecting a contest and building a lineup? (which can’t be done on DK).

    Thanks,

  • Rosterbate

I was thinking about this too when I had like 30 lineups and was searching for the two that I wanted to enter in cash games. Sure would have been nice to be able to title my lineups and not have to search around for them when entering contests.

Definitely a good idea and I’ll check if the browser extension would work. Would also love for DK to allow you to delete a lineup you’ve made that you no longer want to use.

  • FanFooBaa

Wow MY post “Back” (Dan!) from the dead! YES I would still LOVE This – I have 150 entries for week 1 NFL and trying to keep track of which is which, is a pain. I just want to label them: Lions RB-DEF, High Risk, H2H, Cash, Sunday Night Game, etc

  • TJRhodes

Yep, why they don’t at least number the lineups so you can keep track of them is just crazy. It’s been a long time coming.
