See on facebook Draftkings has a special announcement coming up on Feb. 26th. They have a teaser video. In it he says it will have your Cup running over. Could it be Nascar? Anyone have any idea?

Store is a pretty cool idea IMO – love that you can buy a VIP experience with your points if you have enough of them

Question about the store for DK – since you guys are partners with teams, do you foresee offering up tickets for purchase through the store to select games?

It’s a possibility for sure, but there’s a bunch of hurdles to do something like that. It’s definitely on our radar though

I think the response would have been a lot more positive had they not hyped the announcement so much. The store is pretty solid, love the golf stuff.

I just saw they no longer have the trip to space on their points page.

Now what am I gonna shoot for?

The DK golf balls would look great at the bottom the water hazards at my local course.

It’‘s really no different from any other product imo. Anytime you wear a brand name you’re doing their advertising for them.

But there’s a clear value difference between wearing a brand name and wearing Draftkings, no? An established clothing retailer, and especially the luxury ones, spends hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising a year to establish itself as a luxury good. People buy these brands to demonstrate that they have a certain level of wealth/sophistication/taste/etc. There’s a reason why companies not in the apparels industry gives out free swag like t shirts, polos, etc., as advertising.

So the big announcement was something that Draftstreet already had years ago?

C’mon guys. this is definitely the very first time DraftKings has ever, in the history of their company, even remotely over-exaggerated anything.

Cut the largest daily fantasy site some slack.

    priceless

Haha, saw realized the irony in the post.

  • Mindgame247

I agree with those saying they are a little let down by the announcement. Introducing a DK store is a great idea but i’m not sure it was worthy of a 2-3 day delay to hype it up, I was expecting a game changer from all the hype. Oh well, it certainly isn’t anything to hold against them though and if this is the worst thing that happens to me today i’m very lucky!

Nice addition to the site, but ridiculous way of presenting it.

And I’m pretty sure some people get paid to wear DK stuff.

Maybe those people should stfu about others paying for it, but that’s none of my business.

Pretty sure the hate was self-inflicted. I don’t think anyone has a problem with the the actual store. It’s great. The hype is another story altogether. Imagine if FD made a huge deal about something new and great….and it was merely a match up blocker. Well, I guess that would be a big deal to some. LOL

Just to chime in since there’s a lot of discussion about the hype aspect:

    1) This has been one of the features most asked for by casual players. People like the logo/branding and want to have more opportunities to buy gear.

    2) This is something that isn’t easy to organize and create. There’s a lot of hard work that goes in behind the scenes to putting something like this together and the excitement/hype, on our end, is the culmination of that hard work.

    3) I can personally speak to the hype videos and I really hope that people understand the somewhat sarcastic nature of those. The video was meant to say “we’ve added all these great features, this next one is even bigger” in a sarcastic tone. I’m not winning an Oscar anytime soon though, so there’s a good chance that the sarcasm wasn’t portrayed properly.

I do understand where people are coming from, just wanted to give everyone a bit of context and background into what goes into this. If you were truly offended by all the hype, let me know and I can send you an autographed item of clothing from my horrifying acting debut (limited supplies obviously)

Depending on the item of clothing involved, I might count myself among those who were offended. :)

There actually were lots who seemed to have a problem with DK selling gear. The mods deleted a bunch of overly negative posts in this thread.

The truth is a ton of customers want to buy/wear gear to represent the brands that they like. We get similar requests all the time.

The posts complaining about not being paid to wear DK products? I want to think those were merely troll attempts. I mean, c’mon!

So if it’s none of your business then why make this post? Why take a shot at someone’s success? I just don’t understand what the problem is having paid pros promoting the product.

    Thanks DK!

So glad I sat on my FPPs from the NFL season. Just snatched some stuff and will probably grab more soon. Transaction was cakewalk with no shipping charge worries.
