I don’t really have a goal with this post, I’m just super frustrated and want to vent.

    Here’s the contest: https://www.draftkings.com/contest/gamecenter/48461851?uc=908858385

When the games went final I was in first place. Celebrated, made some phone calls, then came back an hour later to find myself with one point less and credited with second place. UGH that’s quite a stat correction. I’m not even sure what it was. Probably Hyde got a reception changed to run or vice versa. Whatever it was it cost me $65,250 (tickets valued at $66,000; second place gets $750).

Was it a run though? You can’t blame the final stats. Just blame their crappy live stats thing because it’s always wrong. They shoudnt have a live stats tracker. It’s never right for NBA because they got cheap and decided not to pay Stats inc.

No idea what it was. I’m hoping to find out but I have no idea. You’re right I can’t blame the final stats. I would blame the live stats for getting my hopes up. Like I didn’t bother to tweak my primetime lineups because I was celebrating. Didn’t realize I left a few Gillislee lineups in. And now I have to tell a bunch of people I didn’t actually win.

I don’t play NBA so I didn’t realize this was a common occurrence. Never noticed it with NFL and I play a ton.

I’ve been upset about this in the past but have come to realize it’s the right move. Just imagine you were in second and they didn’t correct the stat.

Problem is we pay up to 16 % in rake now and expect a nice user experience. We get told a lot of crap that the rake increase is used for “innovation” when we all know it’s bs. All about a money grab to pay investors. These corrections happen way more then they used to. We should expect this to be figured out. Sorry about your loss, I have been on both sides of fence.

My god that’s brutal. I don’t know how I’d handle that one, and I’ve had some incredibly frustrating close calls.

What does the rake have to do with stat corrections by the NFL?

Hyde had a lateral that was ruled a reception at first changed to a run. I saw the discrepancy right away as I follow the gamecenters on CBS sports, who had the yards listed as rushing, while DK listed it as a catch.

The even sadder part is that with 2 more yards rushing, he would have made up for the change with the 100 yard rushing bonus.

    Sorry, man.

Thanks. Glad to know what it was. I figured it was something like that.

I feel a little better about it this morning. I didn’t mention it last night, but I did luckbox a ticket back in week 4, so I can’t complain too much. I’ve spent a lot trying to get a second one, though. Still the worst bad beat of my life.

    You’ve lost $65,000 on a stat correction?

I feel bad for you OP. The silver lining is that you made a super competitive lineup. Most people get stomped everytime they play DFS. SOme people quit forever cuz it’s so hard. Just keep plugging away and you’ll soon celebrate a big score.

  • mambaland

there is no silver lining in that sort of bad beat…that is a win you may never recoup…i have done it before where i chose between 2 lineups and used the wrong one when i couldn’t afford both…

This doesn’t make any sense and is not comparable. In your case, you entered a bad lineup. In the OP’s case, he constructed a great lineup and just happened to come in second. Not a bad beat since there wasn’t a crazy last second play or completely flukey play in a game that went against him. Rather, just a stat correction which gave him the correct score.
