Been waiting on a Paypal withdrawal since 4-5-15 and have sent 2 support tickets that have not been answered and nobody is picking up the phone at Draftster’s offices or returning calls. I would be very wary of depositing any money on Draftster at this point. Are any other grinders having any issues at all with Draftster?

So much cringe in this post. Someone get the hook.

anyone with that tiebreaker policy should not run a DFS business

Hello Grinders — Justin Walker here, Partner & CMO in Draftster. Posted last Friday, don’t see it, perhaps because it’s my own post? I know it was up because I’ve received feedback.

In any case, some responses to the thread above; your skepticism is 100% understandable, your criticism of certain contest scoring is quite welcome to a new entity (and being adjusted), but any reference to shady individuals running the company is 100% not the case. Draftster was founded and run by leaders and experts in related fields who know full well that customer/company integrity runs our respective businesses, period.

There are two giants in this field, another on the way (Yahoo, at least), and a host of medium sized players who are looking to grow. Draftster was created by the best programmers in the business, our software (back end and front end) is superior. Our team is as sharp and organized as it gets. We are swinging the bat hard day and night.

When I came aboard, priority #1 was to reduce Overlay in our contests. Overlay is a catch-22 for new players in this vertical, as DFS sites fund guaranteed contests that don’t fill. I will tell you that one of the giants avoids Overlay like the plague, the other rolls with it in cavalier fashion. I prescribe to the former as the long-haul model for a responsible, bubble-averse business practice.

So, to you the players, keep it coming. Your feedback is invaluable, your deposits are safe at Draftster. We have instituted direct correspondence with our most frequent customers who’s notes, both good and bad, are helping to shape the company moving forward. This forum is an extension of that policy.

    Thanks grinders — draft fiercely!

You need to just stop posting. Honestly, at this point you are simply hurting Draftster more and more. These robotic, overly amped up attempts to sell us all on something, it’s not helping. I’ve never really considered signing up to another DFS site other than fanduel (except for maybe Victiv, just to try it), but after reading through this thread from time to time, no thank you.

Why play this site? They can’t process your withdrawals or give you an honest response, or hell any response except for this automated response. Just burn your cash in the back yard instead. And remember “draft fiercely!”

  • Myprimetime

Agree. Somehow no response would have been better.

  • JustinWalker

    Draftster Rep

Hah! Tough crowd, some want responses, others don’t. In any case, I will follow the advice of the owner of THIS site and stay engaged on the thread. Will continue to address the issues as clearly as possible. Thank you, and again, your feedback is being worked on (i.e. the tie breaker rule).

  • rgyanks

No one is saying they don’t want responses, they are saying that no response would have been better than your sporadic posts that do not actually answer the concerns of the players and inspire no confidence or trust in you or your site. The owner of this site gave you good advice that you should follow, but you have the all caps on the wrong word there, you need to stay ENGAGED on this tread.

It’s good to see that apparently all withdrawals have been paid, congratulations on being able to fulfill the most basic obligation that any website has. But there still needs to an explanation as to why multiple complained about slow withdrawals that necessitated way too many emails with customer service. That cannot happen if you expect anyone reading this thread to be convinced that they should deposit on your site.

Instead of addressing these issues, you decided to explain that the problem you are really working hard on fixing is overlay, so lets address that as well. 95% of my action is not on either FD or DK, I would think that I am the kind of player you want to attract. Overlay is the best way to entice me to make that first deposit and learn a new site. If I like the site, I will keep playing in games that are raked, but it’s hard to get me to try without something that makes it +EV. I understand why you wouldn’t want overlay, but it helps in the most important thing for a DFS, attracting more players. There is a reason that the biggest site with the established player base avoids overlay, while the best up and coming sites have overlay. DK used to have a ton of overlay, but that has decreased dramatically since they have also built their player base. Victiv, the best new site and possibly the 3rd best site out there now essentially guaranteed significant overlay throughout NFL season and still has good overlay every night. There is a reason for their success and popularity. (Also Victiv has some of the best customer service and engagement with the community, you might try to learn from them)

But again, the question about overlay must be on the back burner while you deal with the much more significant and pressing issues brought up in this thread.

Thank you for this, in particular the specifics about Victiv. I can assure you that the issues brought up in this thread are of the utmost importance to me personally, which is why I have chosen to engage here and address them one by one. Have a great Mother’s Day and you will be hearing from me more often as I continue to get up to speed.

  • JSteele

I’ve made another withdrawal of $100 on Thursday. One part of the site said it would take 2 business days, another said it would take 48 hours after the next business day. I haven’t received it yet, so I’m assuming its two business days. Justin can you confirm this?

When addressing them one by one, can you start with #1 on the list.

    What caused the cashout delays?

Then move onto #2. What did you do to fix this so it wont happen again?

I think people want you to elaborate more than “Sorry about the delays, it wont happen again.”

  • JSteele

To follow up on my previous post. It is now Monday, the second business day of my Withdrawal, still waiting. I will keep updating until I receive it.

  • TeamSwish412

Its funny, the people complaining are the same people who still put money into the sites they complain about. Just dont play, plain and simple.

You get what you are paying for when you join a site you don;t trust

  • Joe1Coal

In reading this post, I have a bad taste in my mouth. These are the biggest issues, in no particular order:

    1) Failure to pay out in a reasonable amount of time;
    2) Taking a fee to make sure money is paid out;
    3) Slinging mud on Fan Duel because they avoid overlay;
    4) Tiebreaking policy
    5) Lack of common sense in posting

I am not one to comment on people’s success, lack of success, or perceived lack of success, but someone else needs to be the PR person here. I have zero interest in playing on this site, so I may not be your audience, but this is ugly. The tie breaking policy is the dumbest thing that could have ever been created. It sounds like someone who is tone deaf in the DFS marketplace made that rule up and then people ran with it.

This many people complaining about withdraws can’t be wrong. Take your money to Victiv, FanDuel, Draftkings, or wait for yahoo. This kind of nonsense is what gives DFS a bad reputation.

    What caused the cashout delays?

Maybe if we keep pushing this question, the new invested partner JustinWalker CMO of Draftster will take notice.

What was the reason it took forever to get Whisky his 5K? Was it because it was such a large request? Was it because you guys ran out of funds? Which would mean they dipped in the player funds, which is not alright, but nice to know that you have put an end to this.

The fact you have come back into this thread and 100% avoided this major issue should SCARE anyone thinking about adding funds on your site.

We await your next response talking about your $8.00 a day overlay you plan to manage.

  • herberh2

It shows a gigantic disconnect that the Draftster rep talked about his #1 priority being stopping overlays when not a single person voiced a complaint about overlays in this thread.

Also, I am going to go out on a limb and say no one on this website wants overlays to stop.

  • JSteele

There is still massive overlay, I doubt this thread helps. Theres currently a 110 person GPP with 22 entries and it hasn’t increased for several hours.

  • QQSTUKIE

They have $1,184 in total guaranteed prizes today in their lobby, has the new CMO decreased this number of late?

If they are having a hard time with overlay, and are only guaranteeing just over $1,000 per day there are WAY bigger problems with this site. Never understand what these guys that make sites are thinking. You need cash, and lots of it to build your player base. You need a marketing plan (not like your current one, of coming to this site and giving your site a bad rep) to bring in new players.

There really should be a DFS crash course these investors/startups can take so they truly understand what they are getting into.

  • JSteele

They used to run $1500 to $2500 gpp’s during the regular season of Basketball. So the number has definately decreased.

  • luckyluciano

Overlay should be the least of their worries. Aside from this 5k wd horror story, their player pool is a major problem.

Last week Evan Gattis had a favorable match up against Tex & he wasn’t even in the player pool. This is the third time I’ve noticed players missing from their available pool.

Also, their player pricing is all over the place. Rather than having universally “soft” or “hard” pricing, they have harder pricing on the wrong players. Up until this week, Kris Bryant was minimum priced. Stanton is the same price as Mookie Betts, & 200 more than Werth(less).

I know their pricing is algorithm-based & not manual, but 100 out of 100 lineups are going to roster Joc when he is priced the same as Leonys Martin & Travis Snider

This is why most “large” and “established sites use STATS, not Sportsdata like Draftster.

Is this the same team that came up with the tie-breaker rule and the lazy payout structures?

I don’t think this is the issue. Sports Data is a reputable data provider. Plenty of other large industry sites use Sports Data. STATS is the gold standard, but I can’t imagine Sports Data would screw up something as simple as the rosters.

so much for staying engaged, still no answers to direct questions aimed at helping us understand the reasons behind slow payouts…. that’s enough for me to stay away..
