Admin Edit – Update: Official DraftKings & DraftStreet Merger Announcement

Rumors are floating on Twitter. Is this real? Is this good or bad for dfs players and industry?

Is there a heavy hitter in the wings getting ready to launch for NFL?

Please make as crazy speculations as you’re capable.

EDIT: This has been confirmed from sources close to the situation.

I can about guarantee that DS would be shuttered in this situation. No point in running both platforms under one umbrella.

Oh yeah, I was real happy when Fleet bought NatWest and so happy after BaC bought Fleet that I bank at Citibank now.

    1. Lateswap can be used as hardcore or as casually as you would like. I’ve late swapped 3 times total this baseball season. TOTAL.
    2. No site runs regular low stakes Q’s to the live events anymore for the fact that they just overlay too often. This is true for SS, FD, as well as DK. It’s an industry wide thing at this point and not specific to one site. DK does have a very solid satty system though where a player can win a seat into the higher stakes Q’s for $2/$5/$12.
    3. No site is trying to run off casual users. Not one. IMO, DK offers all the things that the casual fan has asked for. Low dollar 50/50’s, user blocker, multi matchup blocker, one click multi game entry, iPhone app, satellites to larger games, ticket program, FPP, etc, etc, etc.

If people don’t like this site or that site, that’s their business, it’s the reason they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Different people have different tastes. However, to continue on in a 6 and close to 7 page thread with things that aren’t backed up by facts became absurd about five pages ago.

    Al,
Im not disagreeing with any of your points but there is no reason why DK cant run a 1000-2000 entry $5 GPP nightly for MLB and give a small time player a shot at a big payday. Instead they’d rather run $27, $55, $109, $200, $530 etc.
Bottom line is Al, you have been very successful and made some decent money in DFS but if you cant bring in fresh meat the pool its going to dry up quickly.

Vegas casinos are full of people playing small money and then there is a tiny corner for the high rollers. you cant build an industry off the high rollers.

I do have a solution. If DK wanted to truly pull in fresh meat a give them a shot at the big games. Create GPPs and Qs that you can only enter if you stay below a threshold spend for that evening. IE: Legend Series ticket Q for $12 buy in but you cannot play more than $50 or $100 in MLB for that night. It would prevent the sharks from being able to enter and allow someone new a chance at a Cinderella story.

15-16% rake on smaller single entries is a deterrent for customers like myself. I still happily play on dk, but at lower stakes and more overlay hunting.
