DS Snake Drafts
Haven’t seen much discussion on these and I’m thinking about doing some NFL snakes this week. Can anyone comment on their experiences with them? I’m thinking there may be less grinders and more fish since grinders are more likely to just spam salary cap games.

Hey Priptonite,
DS snakes have always been good in my experience. They are easy to do and are a nice complement to the salary cap games. As far as more fish being in snakes, I haven’t found that to be the case. There are a few solid sharks that play as many snakes as they can get their hands on.
I agree with notorious totally, I play mainly snakes and snakes are equally as hard to win, not many people are fish especially as the entry fees escalate and they have their own unique strategies seperate to sal cap. Great fun though!
If you haven’t played snakes before, play a few free games to see how it works and how others build teams and also always study your opponents teams to see what you can learn or may have missed or overlooked.
The only thing I don’t like about snakes is if you also play salary cap games the same day. I find myself rooting against players that I have on one or the other team towards the end of the day.
I tend to play snakes heavily on weeks where I feel like the DS salary ‘ranks’ are off. Week 2 or 3 when CJ was 11th WR, weeks where jimmy/gronk have fallen, or even weeks where I feel a few of the top ranked RBs will have a poor showing and just fade them into my opponent.

I’ve never played them seriously, but they are great fun and a good way to get lineup diversity. Maybe DS should push them a little more since they are the only major site that runs them and it’s similar to year-longs. A multi-week top 2 of 8 advance bracket style would be very cool.
Think of it as a good way to hedge your bets :)

Snake drafts are how i got started in DFS. I think they are one of the better ways to ease new people in since the draft process is similar to season long leagues.
There are definitely some sharks that play them, but the time requirement is probably why they arent more popular.
