Here’s a short summary for tmrw’s slate: EPL Matchday 25

  • smokeyca14

    Highest scoring game please…

  • yisman

    yahoo not making this easy…

  • Morley

Such a chalky slate with so few legit options so figured only shot to go heavy contrarian and leave a lot of money on the table.

This meant for the very first time didn’t at least throw my cash lineup in as a dart. Cash lineup has every goal scored thus far… Unless we start getting some contrarian goals soon this is going to be one of the more upsetting ways to double your money I’ve ever ran into

    ownership for Yahoo $5 GPP

    Hazard 91.4%
    Sigurdsson 91.4%
    Alonso 76.5%
    Kepa 67.9%

I see you up there Yisman. And don’t look back…. :)

Barring a late game brace by King or Stanislas, this will end up being a very very nice day for me on Yahoo. Currently winning $35 on a 3.50 investment.

So nice for the chalk to work out, for once. Reminds me of the glory days of Fantasy Soccer, where you could count on Robin Van Persie and Carlos Tevez for brace or hat trick every week.

  • Morley

yeah my cash lineup on yahoo is absurd and would have swept the gpps and the one week i decide it’s too chalky to also play in gpp :(

  • Yeoman

Never mind…I didn’t quite get there; needed Bournemouth to get off the schneid to have a chance of winning it. Good to see familiar names on the first page.

  • yisman

108.8 for my second Yahoo lineup. Missed cashing by like 3 points. I had Ings who only played 27 minutes and Brooks who for some reason did not get into the game despite regularly playing in past matches. I wasn’t on to be able to edit him out.

I’m glad I’m not the only one…I got to FD at a minute past lock to find out Zanka wasn’t in the lineup today. Not that it mattered, I’d have needed a lot more than a few clearances to get that steaming pile over the cashline.

  • yisman

I normally manage to be on at the various time EPL matches are locking but this time I was stuck at a lunch. I was told to arrive at 11:20 or so and it didn’t begin until like noon. Oh well. Was a difference of like 6 bucks

  • Morley

i think what really holds back soccer for dfs is for most there’s a 10-50% chance they’ll be rested or benched for strategic reasons and the teams don’t release lineups until an hour before game time.

It’s not like other sports where you just do a quick check and see nothing has changed or to watch someone who you know is a game time decision but that I never set a default lineup in advance and don’t have at least 2 guys sitting out.

Then with different starting times you gotta baby sit, if you do multiple lineups that can be a real mess.

Can’t possibly ever see myself playing anyone who wasn’t in the early games in soccer if they didn’t have late swap.

    Sexy Alexis 6.8K….going all in.

  • JH822547

lol, 1 point. Get there early they say.

I realize this is an EPL thread but for those of you who play on yahoo, why is there no La Liga anymore offered on yahoo?

    Same reason there’s no MLS.

Yahoo decided to cut back on their soccer offerings.

I’m not 100% certain on this but I think they may be down to just EPL now. They didn’t offer the World Cup and they may have stopped doing UEFA as well.

I wish they could get back their license in the UK and then start offering more soccer and bigger contests.

They still do the Champions League slates but that’s it besides EPL. I’m with you, I wish they were expanding their soccer offerings rather than reducing them.

I wish RG would offer a bit more coverage. If it weren’t for the efforts of Sir Robert and sometimes the Answer we’d have nothing. It’s always overboard on NFL and NBA and then just scraps for sports like soccer, and nascar. I think there’s zero nascar without paying for Stevie’s package. Sorry just venting. Oh BTW I like Gabriel Jesus for today’s Man City/Everton showdown.
