EPL is back with a bang this week after the international break, featuring a 7-game Saturday Main Slate:

    Southampton v Liverpool
    Stoke v Bournemouth
    Everton v Swansea
    Sunderland v Hull
    Crystal Palace v Man City
    Watford v Leicester
Tottenham v West Ham (late game)

Post your thoughts in here as I am sure I can’t be the only one itching to get back to EPL.

Personally I think targeting Liverpool/Everton/City is the most obvious play, interested to hear what games others think hold the most fantasy value!

I have also previewed it a bit in my latest blog here https://rotogrinders.com/blog-posts/dfs-soccer-build-that-bankroll-pt-5-1547740

Man U and Tottenham are actually the two biggest favorites, with Everton not far behind.

Looks like a pretty interesting slate though that should have a lot of different ways to construct lineups and not a ton of overlap. Looking forward to it. I’m really liking that DraftKings put up a $33 buyin with $25k guaranteed. Outside of promotions, that is about as big as EPL has seen.

Yeah I mentioned in the blog that the GPP offerings were looking good although seems to be no Golden Boot as of yet and am really hoping this is the start of some GPP growth.

Tottenham are a difficult one though (especially for Cash) as they have a few injury concerns which look like they could be decided on the day (especially with mid week Champions League to follow) and being the late game they could be a risk to roster too many players.

There also seems to be some satellites available for a $50k Guaranteed Boxing Day Classic but I cannot find any info on this GPP yet.

As far at Tottie goes, seems like only Davies and maybe Deli Alli may be unavailable. But with UCL midweek, they could decide to hold a few others out. Just need to be prepared to make pivots using the late swap.

Yes, they have consistently run a big contest on Boxing Day. In the past this has always been a $20 buyin I believe but this looks like it is going to be a $400 buyin. A little more than I typically want to buy in for but I’ll take a few shots at the satellites.

Yeah $400 buy in is not for me but I am glad they are running this as hopefully it helps grow the game, I know people like to watch sports and gamble over the holiday period so i expect a few players from other sports try their luck. they are also doing a “Medium” and “Mini” version as well which should be fun.

Is the $33 tourney just for this week or is that the new norm moving forward and they won’t be doing the $27 golden boot

Who knows. I know they just like to try different things out. My guess is that if this contest fills, they keep running it. If it doesn’t, it may be $27 next week. Or maybe it is $20. I am not really sure there is a method to their madness.

Definitely seems like there has never been a method to the soccer contests, although personally the softer pricing (except the WCQ) and increased GPPs is in my opinion a step in the correct direction for now

I blame Mark Hughes, had he opted with someone else in the midfield, I wouldn’t have been attracted to adam’s underprice and gone for Toure

my cards are such a mixed bag.
100% exposure to Defoe and KDB. Lukaku and Adams on Pickford cash card, Aguero and Otamendi on my Yaya/Coleman/Steklenburg GPP. Dropped Capoue and Courtinho, still have Kane and Rose.
    All over the place.

  • KindGuy

UGHHHH that late as hell Coleman goal hurt so much. I had Fabianski who was well on his way to a fantastic game. Couldn’t save a weak header fuckkkkkk.
