The EURO Tour debut event on Draft Kings !!!!

EURO Tour Thread – BMW PGA at Wentworth – Surrey, England

    Tournament History
Originally known as the British PGA Championship and first staged in 1955, the BMW PGA Championship has been the European Tour’s flagship event since its inception in 1972.

Wentworth (West Course), Surrey, England. Designed by Harry Colt and opened in 1926, the West Course, has undergone a series of alterations in recent years, under the supervision of Ernie Els
    Par 72 – 7,302 yards
    Stroke Index in 2014 – 72.6

    Last Five Winners
    2015 – Byeong-Hun An -21
    2014 – Rory McIlroy -14
    2013 – Matteo Manassero -10 (Playoff)
    2012 – Luke Donald -15
    2011 – Luke Donald -6 (Playoff) (Par 71)

All the greens were remodelled in 2009/10 and the par 5 finishing hole was radically changed. At the mercy to modern equipment, the old 18th was an almost given birdie and a great eagle chance but now, with a large stream snaking its way in front of the green, it’s a stunning risk/reward finishing hole.

Wentworth is a tight, fairly flat, tree-lined heathland course with tricky-to-read greens that usually run at around 10 on the stimpmeter. It isn’t a popular venue with a number of pros and as a result, the field isn’t anywhere near as strong as it perhaps should be with many of the European stars absent again.

Man i really hope the $27 tournament fills… 12 hours to go and not even half way filled yet. Are you guys expecting overlay in that?

Mixed emotions – I want it to fill for future prize pools in contests and so the EURO events are still on DK, but selfishly I also want the overlay this week LOL

This is exactly why I wouldn’t expect too much Euro action. LPGA makes more sense to me. They don’t tee off while we are asleep and I personally would watch every event if I had some kind of action involved. I donated $3 to the Euro birdie just because. I won’t be watching any of it, even if I have a chance to win it this weekend.

With DK now launched in England, I’d like to think those gamblers will catch on to this DFS Golf and keep the contests afloat along with us North American degenerates LOL

The problem I have with LPGA is there is about 20 players with the last name Kim and another 12-15 with Lee/Li and if I’m not sure how much US/Canadian interest there is as it is such a Asian dominated tour.

Haha agreed man. I’ll take some overlay but if it doesn’t come close to filling that would be very discouraging. I think it’s great that DK is offering the Euro golf. There are some real players over there. Luiten, Olesen (shown up in a few majors in the past), Sullivan, Morrison, Kjeldson and Bello can all play. Should be a fun sweat on Sunday morning! For those playing are you going more with a balanced approach or stars and scrubs? Looks like there are some decent values in the 6k range…

Id play WNBA before I played a LPGA dfs game. Euro Tour makes tons of sense for both the tour and DK.

Most of my lineups are 2 guys in the star category (9K+) and 4 guys in the 7K+ range

With a smaller number of guys making the cut, I’m a little leery to go with higher risk punts – I don’t follow the Euro tour that closely but do watch it late at night sometimes. A guy that I like to watch was David Howell in the past and was shocked to see his price so low but then saw that he hasn’t played in a few months so guessing he had an injury ?? Other guys that were cheaper than I expected were David Horsey, George Coetzee, David Lipsky, Marcus Fraser, Gregory Havret and Julien Quesne.

Looks like the paid services, touts and Twitter guys seem to be all over Bradley Dredge, F Molinari, Tyrell Hatton and also to a lesser extent guys like Luke Donald, RCB and James Morrisson.

I also expect Russell Knox to get a lot of ownership as his recent form is top notch – not much talk about Ben An despite being defending champ.

Yea I’m by no means an expert on the euro tour but im implementing a similar strategy. Other cheap guys I have my eye on are Hend, Gallacher and Hanson. Good luck this week BIF.

First timers do not have a great record here.

I have 5 punt plays that are first timers. Fingers crossed.

No way their is overlay. Too many people sit and lurk till the last few hours.

Just to be clear, I thought those guys were cheaper than they were going to be but I didn’t end up playing any of them – I keyed on a core of about 8-10 guys

Agree with you on those guys also being cheaper than you’d expect.

I have one lineup where I left 1300 or 1400 on the table – easy to do if you don’t take Willet – lots of good value in the 7K-8K range

I don’t see the $27 filling totally but figure it’ll be close

Only 100 max entries makes it a bit tougher to get slammed late like we see in other sports with 200 entry max – also $2700 to max enter for a $10K top prize makes it tough to justify IMO

Who knows – it’s starting to ramp up now over 2430 of 4257

Hmmm, I pretty much stayed away for the 1st timers – some weird knobs, knolls and low areas to chip from at this course plus set-up is always a question mark here so I leaned to guys who probably have seen the worst of it in the past.

You always seem to find a couple gems so I don’t doubt a couple of your rookies will do well – good luck this week Gibb

I like the old guys here.

The other problem I see based on the 1st week’s tournaments, why would I put 100-200 entries in the Euro Birdie trying to win $4k when even the crappy PGA Birdies pay $20k for the same price? Granted if I hadn’t had a horrid end to DFS NBA season I would be in for 100 or so entries but I am a degenerate so you get the point.

Yah I was looking at the $27 entry GPP and trying to see why anyone would pay $2700 to max enter 100 entries only to win $10K for 1st ? Unless you were going to play 25 diff lineups 4 times each to try and sweep a few of the top prizes, I don’t see it. Even with 4 man stacks, it is tough to have 2 entries end up within 10 places of another in a GPP so 100 unique lineups is not likely profitable unless you Top 5 one of them.

After always being excited when I foolishly go 100% on a guy, I’m super pumped this week at the opportunity to go 200% on someone! Team Molinari(s) for the win!

Most looking forward to waking up early for work and immediately getting to see where some of my players ended up after R1 and then soon after having my PGA lineups for off for any early tee times I have (on east coast).

I’m just worried that this is going to turn me into an insomniac on Saturday nights to stay up for Round 4. No worries this week with an extra day to recuperate before work on Tuesday but my old ass can’t handle that.

an important WD for those who rostered him, Alexander Levy withdrew today.

Sorry, I realized I answered my own question. ha ha.

On a side note, I have like 2K left in salary on one of my lineups. Watch it win. lol
