Just noticed that the rake increased on FD again ! Last week the 200k $1 NFL Dive had 235,294 entries and this week it has 238,095 entries for the same prize pool. That’s 16% rake! I’m just wondering if rake is ever going to go back down and what would it take to do so? Also if rake keeps going up, how far up is it going to go and when is it going to be unplayable for most?

people complaining over 16 percent rake when in fact 12 percent is too high..

your h2h are rake free? Or only certain ones and what levels?

All H2H are Rake Free, including H2H Rake Free Satellites into our Carolina Million NFL Live Final as well.

Does anyone know if the larger volume players are getting rakeback from the big sites? Would this be legal? Would it violate their terms of service? Could they be getting rakeback in the form of free entries or other indirect compensation? That would make it possible to maintain profitability for the larger volume players while maintaining high margins for the “entertainment-motivated” players.

Can you comment on a H2H limiter so that I could limit the number of times a person is able to join one of my H2Hs? Nothing is more frustrating than posting 5 H2Hs and having the same person scoop all 5.

I was hopeful for Yahoo but seemingly it’s just US looking at the T&C’s eligibility.

I think yahoo must do some fantasy overseas but maybe it’s just soccer.

For DFS soccer the entry fees are in pounds.

Yahoo definitely offers UK Daily Fantasy. Terms of service that one views are localized. Here’s the UK terms: https://policies.yahoo.com/ie/en/yahoo/terms/product-atos/dailyfantasy/index.htm

All of our paid contests are open to both US and UK, and are shared prize pools across each. Soccer contests are created in pounds, and then converted back to dollars, which is why you see odd numbers.

Why no expansion to Canada yet!?

Just continuing to increase rake is evidence yet again that FD management has no clue how to adjust and innovate wrt business model to scale their business. Let’s just keep increasing prices! LMAO.

Yall start making the H2H have the option of only playing a single opponent once and you will instantly have mine, and all of the aforementioned foruming members action for the duration of time until another fantasy sports site develops a similar non-raking model.

They just keep increasing prices huh?naw that can’t be.just can’t be I tell ya.you’re wrong I know you are!!!

I been preaching that one for the last probably 2 years lol.I remember blockbuster started shooting up their prices too.

Contents fill tho man.people can’t say no to the allure of a mill or 100k.or turning 2 figures to 4 or 5.

Frankly if I was managing fd and I’m seeing contests filling even with garbage payouts, pricing, etc what incentive do I have to change it?who cares if it’s bad for the players I’m the ceo all I care about is the bottom line lol

We do currently have the ability for you to block up to 25 opponents from scooping H2H (the largest blocker in the industry).

We are currently talking with development about the H2H limiter that has been mentioned several times, but currently there is no immediate timeframe that I can provide to you.

What I CAN provide to you is, we take feedback seriously, and will always work to make positive impacts on the industry and keep the players first, as many who play on FantasyDraft can attest. Will keep you posted.

The ability to block up to 25 opponents is a nice feature, but at least for me, it is is more important to only play each opponent 1 time. I do appreciate the response and hope we see a change sometime in the near future.

Completely understand the reason for this – will update the forum down the line as more info is available.

I just tried FantasyDraft this week, so far I like it. Count me in on the folks who would love to be able to limit H2Hs to one person. I’d love to post a bunch and limit them to one per user.

One other suggestion… On the mobile site, it takes a few clicks to see who posted the H2H in the lobby. It would be helpful to see the username listed in contest listings.

    Hi There,

After reading through this thread I was curious that if in the states that voted to allow DFS if there were any provisions that regulated the rake? I am assuming not. would this be some type of regulation that is in the future if DFS sticks around for the long haul?

I live in New York where DFS was recently made legal and to my knowledge there is nothing written in the law talking about rake. The only “rake” the NY governemnt is concerned about is their own (taxes). I don’t see states getting involved with the absurb increases in rake because after all it has no effect in the money they get from taxing it (if anything, more money made by fanduel=more money the state gets in taxes)

it is evidence players are willing to ignore rake an keep playing so maybe they do in fact know what they are doing

I doubt any state would add regulations in regards to rake. That would mean the government would be setting the prices for a private company. In my opinion that would be over reaching by the government to be able to restrict the profitability of a company. As long as users continue to pay the increased rake they will continue to raise. There is a breaking point but I am sure the sites will push the limit as far as they can 0.5% to 1.0% at a time.

Does DraftKings not have customer service/chat anymore? I can’t find the usual live chat system I use, and they’ve got some new virtual chat system on there. The virtual chat they’ve got going is definitely the worst I’ve ever seen on the internet. First message was “did that answer your question” (before it typed anything), and then it kept writing messages about withdrawing even though I was asking about leagues

  • Messiah717

Like some have said it’s all very simple in a free market. They will continue to raise the rake as long as people continue to play on those sites and contests still fill.

  • w3stcoastoff3ns3

I started playing on Fantasy Draft last week and I really like it. Almost considering dropping DraftKings all together. Only thing that sucks is I signed up through RotoGrinders and still didnt get any premium content.

I also really liked the live customer service chat and agree the virtual chat which replaced it is pure garbage. Less service and more fees for contests is not a good combo to help improve the customer experience. I would say I hope live customer chat comes back but that is wishful thinking and now they have removed it I am sure it is gone for good.
