Sounds like Fanduel is making a couple of tweaks. First, they are adding a Utility spot. Second, the C and 1B spots have been merged into one C/1B position. Not sure I see the sense in doing that.

  • CUTiger81

I wish they had just left the C and 1B spots separate and added a UTIL spot.

Yeah Dan Back’s been on it for the past day. I like the changes. No more scrub Catchers if you don’t want one. Adds a strategic element with the Utility spot.

Definitely adds a lot of thought to your lineup. Catchers will be contrarian daily (not that the play is good). Probably going to be a lot of 2 first base lineups this season.

If players were quitting because they didn’t check if their catcher was playing, I’m happy enough with the change.

I’m generally pretty ambivalent about flex spots; too much flexibility can make for bland lineups.

FanDuel baseball used to be the best DFS game in the business – scoring, roster setup, etc…

This is the third season in a row they’ve tinkered with the format before a new year. Wish they would just leave it alone already for those of us who have an idea from previous years on how we’d like to play their game.

Yeah, I’m all for improving the product, but I feel like I finally knew what to do by the time last season ended, and now it’s all different.

not a fan of the UTL option (on any platform not just FD)

I’m not huge on it, but there should be a place to play guys who don’t really have a position. I don’t remember the last time Victor Martinez caught a game, but you shouldn’t have been able to use him at catcher last year.

they just want more scoring…remember when 35 pts won h2h? now its 135

that’s b/c they had to be like DK and have clown scoring
no negatives for outs is still the biggest crime to take away from MLB DFS

just happened to see this..too swamped with work lately

one thing to add a UTL, but come on man — really ? now u don’t have to even pick a CATCHER? C/1B — lame..i’m just gonna play heavy on yahoo and say screw it…maybe some DK or elsewhere….utter garbage

  • Roma315

Fan Duel baseball WAS the best. Last year I moved all my action to DK. I hate the 2 pitcher option but was still better than FD.
The player pricing and scoring system was the best. Only one pitcher made it easier to get in big bats. A Win mattered not the QS bs. They had good prize pools at $1-$5 range. Then they started to jack the buy ins up and lower the prize pools.

IMO Players weren’t quitting because of that. They were quitting because the buy-ins kept increasing on FD.

  • edro990

The only thing holding me to FD at this point is the single pitcher format, but that may not be enough. Seriously considering moving my MLB play to Yahoo……..

    Preach.

  • Paymelate

That happens with every sport! They jack the buy-ins and lower the prize pools as the season goes along. Check out NBA $9 for the main buy-in & $50K to first not even $100K.

FD had the best MLB product in the business two years ago , now they have run it into the ground and no longer viable for me

  • kroto

is this change official or are they asking for opinions and what pple think of it?

  • Rockstar1288

How do you think the changes will effect play? Do you think more people will play on DK or another site.

  • kroto

nah, im will not be switching because of this change, i was a little worried at first but after looking at it over again its nothing major. id be playin strictly on FD this yr

Me too. It doesn’t affect me at all. It seems like every change brings a bunch of whining on these boards. People don’t like change I guess.

  • pal

I just hit the “live support” button and told them how I felt about the changes (they Suuuuuuuuuck). The response: “sorry to hear that; most of the feedback has been positive”

    Lol, sure.

Has nothing to do with change.

You make outs in MLB you should get penalized…..you used to and they changed that.

What kind of FANTASY product is it when there is not even a forced option to take a catcher…….

That’s like playing NHL with no goalie.

  • pal

100% agree. Hated the loss of negatives and now this is a special kind of dipshittery to combine C and 1st…
