all their good mlb tourneys which are worth playing like the 1$ sacfly and 3$ sqeeze fill like 3-5 hours before lock and fanduel practically does nothing about it, eg today i woke up and yeah no sacfly in early and afternoon slate, im guessing theyre filled up already and the squeeze of the afternoon slate is 99% full 4 hours before lock, like wtf, so you want me to start making lineups 10hrs before lock and you wont provide late swaps, jeeze please, fix your shit, increase the player pool or provide swaps for goodness sake. i know they wont listen to this rant because if they are sane people working there they would have notice this along time ago, its happen pratically every time and i cannot play.

  • Maxkim

They don’t have late swap, but until the contest starts you can swap as much as you want. For example, you can enter a lineup full of scrubs at 9 in the morning and then edit it right before the games if you want to. Once the games start thats it though

what if i want to play 100-200 lineup, goodluck editing that few minutes before lock lol, draftking has this global edit feature where you can swap all entry with cvs….boom, how cool is that.

I happened to think of it last night and entered, had I not done that the morning slate would have been filled by the time I had a chance to try to enter.

Now having said that, i also hate that when they “expand” they often mess with the payouts.
They’ll have more entries but randomly make the min payout x2 or payout like 16% or some b.s. I love today’s $1 GPP x3 min at over 18% payout.
For the life of me I don’t know why they can’t stuck to that format and then just adjust the entries based on demand.

I will add thought that as a low stakes player who basically plays $1 games I do like the 294 (or whatever number it is) tourneys that they added. Those seem to be filling quick throughout the day.

anyways fanduel suck huge balls when it come to letting people edit lineup. the csv mass edit and swapping players before their game starts will come in handy. i dont gaf though, since i started playing at draftkings this year never looked back. i only though about resuming playing there because ive been hurt by selecting 2 pitchers at draftking but i guess id have to live with it than deal with fanduels mess.

FD has global player swap. I agree not having csv editing sucks, but it’s hard to take you seriously when you complain about FDs lack of global player swap when they blatantly have it.

Unless I’m missing something I find it a mess to do ME on DK as well. It’s easier if the contest isn’t full but even doing 10 LU’s for NBA was a PITA. Once I upload the LU’s from my computer I actually found it easier to import the lineups into contests but any way you slice it it sucks also.

Anytime it’s a holiday the games usually fill quickly, sometimes by early morning. I reserved all my entries last night for that reason just in case, even for the later slates.

  • sntw

Both DK and FD are terrible at sizing there low limit gpps. Both sites games under the $3 per entry price points are full hours before lock. Some people don’t have the luxury of knowing if they will be able to play on any given day early enough to lock up seats(ie. ppl that work, have kids, etc). They have lost a ton of my business this mlb season b/c of this.

The csv edit feature on DK isn’t terribly helpful if you are not mass generating lineups from some lineup tool. If you are it is incredibly helpful though.

  • Lathum

Today it filled faster than usual. I don’t really ever have a problem entering an hour or so before.

im not talking about global player swap dude, can u read? im talking about edit players before their game lock and a csv editing feature for multiple lineups. since the tourney fill quick and no spot for me at the last minute or hour, these will come in handy when i reserve my spot the previous night and want to come back and edit my lineups minutes before lock.

its just not fair when i turn on my tv to watch a game and root for my team, but ive already called it a night on fanduel because one or two of the players i choose is not on the lineup and i cant change it to the players on the linueup. and it happens every time you lose the incentive to play

  • paulmsr

the sizing of the $1 and $3 is def a big problem for FD. I’ve seen days they do up the field and they go to big and wind up w/ overlay. In response they dont knock off the overlay amount they just cut the field back down by a huge amount.

  • deejones49

Dont know why they cant guarantee 100k and let it go over we could join until lock

  • tooltime

I went to FD for mlb because I really don’t like 2 pitchers and DKs app sucks(locks my phone up every time). I only play $1 bunt and some 50/50s. FD is definitely horrible for $1 players. Their tourny size, payout and slates make no sense at all. The bunt should be atleast 10k every night and why don’t they have $1 double ups?

It’s the same for everyone. Stop bitching and don’t play FD if you don’t like it. I happen to like having two different sites that have different rules.

  • TomCats83

I really prefer FD to DK. If it’s that big of a deal put in a dummy roster the night before and save your spot. You can always edit before the lock…

They aren’t allowed to change the prize pool from what’s announced.

If you consistently have one or two MLB players not in the lineup you should really work on projecting starting lineups better. It’s really easy in baseball

  • deactivated84892

There are some very unfair comments here.

Blaming FanDuel for you not entering a contest is pretty silly. I wouldn’t blame the manager at a movie theatre for not having any tickets left for me because I didn’t reserve mine in time.

FanDuel makes it really easy to enter a dummy lineup the night before. If you start doubting your ability to play leading up to lock, just cancel your entry.

FanDuel had to project a guaranteed pool to fill up on a Monday morning holiday… It’s just smart business to project conservatively. They filled. They did good.

You missed out, You snooze you lose.

  • phillygamecox

I see both sides here. I don’t think FD should be blamed for missing out updating a roster or changing around things at the last minute. FD isn’t late swap and everyone knows that before going into it – if you are going to play a ton of lineups, you need to know your life pretty much needs to stop from 6-7pm EST every night. ;)

That being said, I also like to play many lineups on most nights and updating them as lineups come in is difficult to do so 1 by 1. Having a CSV updater on FD would be SO AWESOME to have, especially given the lack of no late swap. I know it would make my life a heck of a lot easier, and also allow people to enter those dummy lineups and then update when all lineups are final. It would cut down hours of work.

I agree that most days, the $1 Sac Fly fills up by the early/mid-afternoon. I’ve even seen it fill up by lunch some days.

The main issue I have with FD in this regard is on most MLB slates – there is no consistency. Some days the Sac Fly is 2K top prize, others it’s $1500. Some days they run a $2 large GPP, most days they don’t. It just seems to all be so inconsistent on large slates – i understand it changes when slates are smaller. But, anytime there is a 10+ game main slate, I dont know what sort of payouts it will be from day to day and you basically have to change things around each and every day. I didn’t seem to find that on DK which seemed to be pretty consistent day by day.

Unfortunately, FD quit caring about its base and what made them #1 in the DFS industry a long time ago. Sadly, that is why they are #2 at the moment. I wish yahoo would grow some, but that doesn’t look like it’s happening so it’s just status quo with some DK and FD.

  • g_nagy

Agreed. I’m a big fan of Yahoo and wish they would grow more too. If they would keep their 1% entry rule (no entrant may have more than 1% of total entries into the contest) but get rid of their 10 entry max rule (can’t have more than 10 entries if the contest is over 1000 total entrants), their GPP’s would vastly grow in size.

  • jamestriplesticks

surely theres a reason for them doing this. avoiding overlay and having people enter the main squeeze, squeeze 2 and 3 when theyd only normally enter the main 1.
