Unfortunately in an interview Eccles from FD said that while they are probably making SOC, it’s only going to be for their UK product, which is going to be completely separate from their current product, i.e. we can’t play the UK product :(

That is insane to not share pools – soccer DFS is an incredibly crowded market in the UK and nobody knows the size of this market anyway. If FD thinks they will gothere and be successful with £2k GPPs, they can save time, effort and energy and not bother really

He did an interview at the DFS players conference a couple weekends ago and Dan Back asked him about soccer.

weell that really sucks. really a shame as i thought FD could do really well by adding soccer.

Daily fantasy in general hasn’t really kicked into gear in the UK compared to the boom here in the states.
I’ve noticed two competing sites pop up recently this season, PremierPunt and FantasyBet.

Not sure how much attention they have attracted, as they don’t allow US players.

Why can’t FD have two separate markets? Offer different games for US players and UK players if its that big of a legal hassle to merge both of them.

FD should want to tap in into the US market regardless, it has way more potential as the game grows here in the US. Population wise, US has 300+ million people than England. It just makes sense.

I think FD may be vastly underestimating the Premier League fan base here in the US.

A bit unfair on the UK. The bottom line is that nobody knows the size of the market, but we all know there is good potential there with 6m season-long players and a clean regulatory environment.

There has been no marketing effort (not a single ad on TV there), yet Mondo is offering £40k/$60k worht of contests each week end (with less than 10% US customers).

I maintain that it is plain stupid to not share pools globally (not only with the UK) – DK understood it and will have a massive advantage with bigger prizes.
