First off – does anyone know for sure that Fanduel will eliminate the Kicker position this year? Ive see whispers on the web, but no hard evidence. I REALLY Hope they give Kickers the boot!

Secondly, let’s say you start Tyler Lockett and Seahawks Defense on Fanduel. Then Lockett returns a punt for a TD. Do you get a “double dip” like they do on DrafrtKings? In other words would BOTH Lockett and SEATTLE D each get 6 points (12 point increase from that play)??

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I know I got the double dip on FD with Antonio Brown last year. How could you not?

Yes its a double dip and a good tournament strategy, I know I maybe in the minority but I hope they keep kicker there are other sites out there that don’t use it so hope they keep the same format. People will argue that it is totally random, but kickers can be researched too!

First of all it is a scoring play, what other fantasy sport omits scoring plays? You just have to find a kicker on a potent offense who has trouble scoring TDs vs. a decent defense, a kicker indoors with a huge leg or at altitude in good weather, sometimes the stars align sometimes they don’t same with other scoring players in the fantasy realm. Some say it’s unpredictable, I’d argue you play long enough you are both going to be hurt and helped by kicker about the same so its gonna even out, unless you do that extra research on kickers it might just pay off one day!

Casual players don’t think like that – they just think “this kicker just screwed me (ignoring that the week before, he got extremely lucky with his kicker), kickers are stupid!” or “Picking kickers is easy!”.

I personally don’t care either way when it comes to kickers, I agree with you it’s definitely something that can be researched and predicted, and yes there is some randomness there but it does even out in the long-run.

What I DO care about is making the game appealing to casual/recreational players and making it the most fun experience possible for them. So if casual players prefer having a kicker (and I don’t know the answer to that), then FD should keep the kicker. If casual players do NOT like the kicker, then they should get rid of it.

Excellent point. My guess is that casuals dislike having a kicker. It’s almost a fantasy football cliche at this point to hear “My kicker screwed me!” or other such gripes. Just watch an episode of “The League” or eavesdrop in any sports bar.

I exclusively play NFL cash on DK. Boom! Kicker problem solved.

KEEP THE KICKER———again don’t screw yourself like you did in baseball by changing things——-you became #1 in the industry with the kicker———If it ain’t broke don’t fix it . You screwed up baseball by taking away the —minus scoring—-thus taking away the sweat——don’t take away what makes you different in football by eliminating the kicker.

I actually find K the easiest position to pick. Usually my only pick that does well because I still suck at football. I hope to turn that around this year but it’s going to be so hard. GPP’s are going to be HUGE, especially with no more CFB, I’m sure that’s going to bring some more money in.

The problem with this is DK’s horrendous roster-whoever-you-want NFL pricing that makes their cash games downright unplayable some weeks. Hopefully FD does the right thing and finally gets rid of the kicker, which would not be even remotely comparable to their MLB scoring change, fwiw.

DK NFL pricing was awful last season. I played exclusively on FD after week 12 because of that.

I personally like the K and hope it stays.

  • DRomeo916

It’s official. FanDuel just released the prices and kickers are in!

  • fstallone810

For cash games on FD only play Gostkowski. If you lose it wont be because of your kicker.

  • dds2190

I never pay more than min value on kickers. I usually find the min value K in the best spot and go with them. McManus was my guy all those weeks he was min priced and launching 50+ yarders in Denver.

  • Yacht67

I’ll check out vegas totals and weather, and opposing defense before picking my kickers.

  • Awfuca

Eliminating the kicker would be a mistake. the NFL has added chips to game balls of random games to determine how to adjust the goal posts to make kicks more challenging. kicking will be relevant and looked at as a skill position more than ever
