FanDuel is reducing FDP earned from 10 to 5 for each $1 in entry fees. Increased rake and decreased rewards…

  • pburghpens22

So for every $480 you spend on Fanduel, you’ll get one whole dollar of free play, WOOHOO-What great incentives 😒😒😒

  • pburghpens22

I seriously used to love Fanduel years ago, but oh my have they taken so many steps back in my book over the last year 🙁

  • qutgnt25

Looks like they borrowed again from the DK playbook of last year. Chop the fdp’s to a laughable level and then tell you it will be “better” by almost worthless level contests where the EV is a few bucks. Why not just send out an email saying “ We are eliminating FDP because we are in a major cash crunch” instead of spinning it to sound like things are bigger and better? Man if fantasy draft played things right and went big this fall they could easily become number 2.

  • bobbyv02

I already loved FantasyDraft and it’s making me like it more and more. I hope they can keep their general plan and follow through with some bigger tournaments. I hope they don’t keep overlaying because that would obviously stunt their growth.

  • mambaland

when and how did they announce this?

  • madmanjayWV

It’s probably in big letters on the FRONT PAGE ^^^^^^^^^ wow — that’s unreal…… too bad, I’m too loyal :(

    P.S. — They sent out emails evidently….

I got an email this afternoon. Starts August 1st

Fantasy draft made the amazing move of offering heads up games for no rake. Shame more don’t take advantage of that. The reason why is no one knows about it. I think that is extreme to charge no rake because I am sure they lose money based on processing fees. They should actually have like a 5% rake as that is more sustainable. If I was Fantasy draft I would go balls out with GPP’s this year to try to attract more smaller time players. I would also if I was them totally dump the 6 degrees of separation pay. The MLM model is not for DFS. Actually I am sure they keep most of that money as honestly I doubt any referral lines go 6 levels deep. If I was them I would then attract affiliates that have been shafted the past year by DK and FD. Give affiliates 35% to go out and spread the word . They would have incentive to do so, 6 degrees of separation and hoping those you bring in refer others totally disincentivizes (if that is a word) those that can spread the word. This is how FD and DK got big before the mass advertising of 2015 debacles. FD with getting rid of the UK obviously has a big money crunch and with all the VC probably drying up and looking for some returns the cost cutting at the expense of the player is really going to erode enthusiasm after the first few weeks of football. Interesting to see things play out. But I am sure rake increases are right around the corner and have already started to happen with FD.

I would love to play on fantasy draft, but I like the big first place prize. I may never win one, but I like the chance to do so.

  • flip4flop

Ugh, driving me further and further from playing DFS anymore. My volume has dropped so much over the past 6 months. I love it so much but it is becoming less fun for the semi casual player and just unwinnable long term. NFL will probably be my last hurrah and ill skip NBA/MLB next year.

Yea I mean why not? This is exactly what they should do.

    Just wow

I contacted support to complain about the bogus FDP program as it was, and how it only got worse. They responded by reiterating the same e-mail… essentially stating: “Shut up, you will still keep playing on our site.”

I am so mad that I am going to….. enter contests today.

I’ve got somewhere around 65k in buy in’s on FD over the last 2.5 yrs (nothing compared to some guys but still a lot of cash) and it’s always been my preferred site but I’m leaning more and more towards transferring some of my NFL action to Fantasy Draft for this upcoming season.

@CUTiger81 … We would love to have you and you’ll be excited to see what we roll out for Week 1 and beyond ;)

They did mention what sounded like some bigger prize pools for the FDP freerolls. I think I deleted the emails but they definitely sounded like they were worth more than before. Of course you’re earning less FDP than before but if you complete the monthly challenges and get the FDP bonuses which sometimes give you entries to even another freeroll.

Sucks but it is what it is. I’m sure many lost a ton from them not paying out player referrals anymore. Now you get a whole 10 bucks. Wow.

  • mambaland

i am tired of sites trolling players i have tried some of them and they were nothing like they sound

  • Roma315

Switched all my action to DK. Idk what the f@ck FD is doing. They were the best site for a few years imo. Will have to wait and see who gets my NFL action. I miss the one pitcher option for baseball but DK offers much more for my buck.
