Amazing!! So great for the industry and my bankroll.
If this was for all day slates and Sunday which is basically all day with the main I’m ok with it. If anything this helps the pros and max entry players.
That won’t work. Players lock at the regularly scheduled game time, so late swap has almost nothing to do with weather. Only time it comes into play is for iffy midwest and Coors games to give you an extra hour to decide, but even then you have to make your decision before the game starts in a delay.
Not happy that FD decided to add late swap, but I can live with it as long as they offer non-late swap contests as well. My plan was to play DK on nights where I could stay in, and FD on nights where I wouldn’t be able to check lineups after lock.
What is more intriguing for me is this Fanduel Mixup that they are advertising along with their MLB changes, could be really interesting if it’s done right
How can that be? According to the late swap advocates, not having late swap is what helps the max entry players.
(For the record, I don’t have a strong late swap preference either way.)
yes, but +EV players would change depending on your current status. a simplified example is:
- you are sitting at 90th/100 in a GPP that pays the top 10.
- each team has two players left (an overly simple situation)
- your current lineup has two guys that you project will be 30-40% owned. but you could switch to two (less optimal but still good options) who will be less than 5% owned.
so you should switch to the less owned guys bc the chances of you cashing even if your ‘chalk’ hits is small, but if you can get a bit lucky and have the secondary option go off and the chalk to bust then you can maybe salvage your lineup.
The best EV players at 1pm are not the same as the best EV players at 830pm based on what has happened
Couldn’t agree more. I’m married with kids like many others are and being able to step away from the computer or iPad or phone at 7 PM and not have to think about it for a couple hours while I spend time with them is a huge reason I primarily play FD for MLB/NBA. I think this is a really poor choice by Fanduel
The lesson here is that they’ll never please everybody.
If a pro or max entry player has lets say a pitcher left on two lineups and both are very similar in points. They can easily play both pitcher and go for the win points. They could both get the ND but it increases the chance of one of the lineups getting those points.

This just is not true. You don’t have to use late swap optimally to be +EV.
That doesn’t increase the EV for the pros though, just reduces variance.
Explain the second paragraph for me please. What advertising and changes?
Also what’s the +4 for quality start?
The +6 for a SB seems a bit high

Opt for MLB alerts and you’ll be notified if a player is scratched. While the wife/family argument is understandable for those who have one, it’s pretty weak to feel like everyone else should take a zero due to the life decisions others. It says it right there in the vows now. In sickness and health and DFS late swap till death do you part. If everyone has to suffer on behalf of those who are married, then whenever the wives & family cook dinner or do something good for you while you’re busy researching DFS, you have to share with the rest of us too.
“We’re excited to announce that Mixup, the newest way to play FanDuel Baseball, will be debuting this spring. Mixup will offer exciting new twists on lineups and other game features of classic FanDuel Baseball. And each week, Mixup will keep it fresh with a different theme — so your strategies can change for each new theme.”
But that’s like saying those who aren’t married yet or plan on getting married should be rewarded

Probably similar to the themed NBA slates.
Thank you. I Hope this isn’t like that basketball BS they’ve been doing.
I know the arguments on both sides. The point is neither late swap or or the lack of it “helps” max entry players.
It’s very likely to be exactly like the NBA ones.
lol you’re probrbaly right. I can see it now Bobby Bonilla day must play him for 0 points 😂 Like someone said before if they do it right it could be great.
People should make this more simplistic. Reason why this is bad is because not only are the gpps on FD likely to be lower, it makes it where both sites are now offering late swap. The reason why people would play on FD vs DK or vice versa is because they had a choice for a different product.
100% agree. Why would this lower FDs GPPs tho?
2 separate options and you can’t have the same sizing or likely would be overlay if they went big on opening day for an example.
I think the reason for this are for slates that have early games. Instead of doing an early slate and a late slate, they may be offering these late swap slates in order to have a playable all day slate.
