i can understand those of you don’t want to do anything after lock, but to say u can’t have a life with late swap is extremely exaggerating the situation. sure maybe if you want to make a living from DFS then you need to be making tons of changes post lock, but i make a decent ROI and i honestly spend very very little time post lock. its pretty similar to the amount of time i would spend just checking how my lineups are doing regardless of if I could late swap or not. Most of the late swap time investment comes before lock anyway for me.

This was my year to potentially go pro. I wanted to ramp up my play in MLB bc my win rate was so high I was willing to wager more after two years sustained success at the $25-$300 level.

I hate DK’s baseball, but may have to look into it now.

      RG Overall Ranking

I remember the first day I realized I hated late swap was the first day I won a GPP on DK. I was 30 points ahead of everyone just smashing, and Saahil made some ridiculous late swaps to one of his lineups and it almost caught me. Threw guys in at .2% ownership and swapped in all this nonsense I am not capable of doing without his algo.

If there was no late swap, I would have won that slate by 40 points+.

lol. Did you contact him and ask, or did he contact you to let you know he had late-swapped those players.

P.S. If I were you, I wouldn’t go jumping ship to DK. As I noted above, It’s a very different game and there’s simply no way that late swap is responsible for drastic differences in results. Some people are just better at FD’s game (rigid rosters, one pitcher, scoring, pricing) and vice versa.

Why did you like FD over DK for baseball??

I like FD’s product more in just about every sport because it is more like the real games are played. I don’t like utility players and multi-positional eligibility. I also don’t like the two pitcher format.

Me either. I like FD because I don’t like the 2 pitcher format and prefer non position flexibility.

Using NBA for reference, my ROI quadrupled in the year that they introduced no late swap from the two prior years.

My ROI is the same constant it’s been on FanDuel except for a little better this year but marginal.

I’m just upset I’ll have to tweak and figure out how to succeed on a late swap site rather than taking the next step to what should’ve been a year in which I made big money in MLB.

    Oh well.

And on that day he pivoted to like A reliever or something and stacked all these bats, something you wouldn’t do unless you had zeros in a spot which he did. I ran through all his lineups and that was the only one with certain bats that went off and that reliever.

So he yanked a starting pitcher and put in a reliever?

It was two years ago, but I remember he put in the reliever that somehow got the win and went for multiple innings and stacked McCutchen and Harper and somebody else and they all hit two homeruns.

He actually was beating me at one point until CarGo hit a bomb to take it down

this is the dumbest thing FD ever did

    You think?^^^
Not sure it’s the dumbest put it ranks right up there among the most stupid things they’ve done.
Where the heck was this for NBA season?
UTTER JOKE, but I should not expect anything less — i.e. QUALITY STARTS — Y not just take the win completely out of the equation….looks like more yahoo play for me…

That seems like a really risky move.

Late swap in MLB primarliy benefits pros and those who have all night to sit at computer and adjust lineups as games progress. If you are veiwing this as a weather/player scratch advantage then you are doing it wrong.

Hopefully this change wont be for the 7pm slates.

Was there ever a real ? as to whom was being catered to here?

  • tmarohl

So is the new strategy not to play any early players, load your lineup with late night guys, and hope the early guys tank, and then optimize your lineup with the leftover guys from late night? Is the strategy to play a couple cheap bats early hoping they go off and save all your salary for higher priced later bats?

So the QS Points is less than 3 ERs and atleast 6 IP?

  • madmanjayWV

    @kieff5280 said...

Fanduel doesn’t care about the smaller-time player. I am in a similar situation where I did well on FD. I will have to adapt and adjust

At least a few people get it ^^^^^

And to answer a previous question — it takes at least 6 IP and 3 ER or less to get a QS (Quality Start) —

If the game is a regular 9 inning game — No extras obviously — or it’s not shortened by rain b4 the 9th inning….
Regularly and generally speaking a starting pitcher in MLB must go 5 IP to earn the win..

So yes, you can 100% get a NON-QS and have a decision that is a VICTORY (WIN)

Does Fantasy Draft have late swap?

  • desertdanny

Just be thankful they didn’t make us pick different players for innings 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 like they did with PGA.

  • tonedefrob

Why don’t they team late swap up with the multi-entry contests and keep single entry contests non-late swap? Or vice versa?

The non-late swap GPP options they have posted are pure garbage.

  • tbryan

This is horrible. Absolutely freaking horrible. FD, you’re blowing it.

We’ll have non-late SWAP GPPs too— so says FD
Yeah if you consider sub-300 man MINI crap GPPs…
Is what it is, but truly sad.

Posted to the NBA thread which got bumped for this.

As a relative fish perspective when it comes to NBA, I got mixed (yet strong) feelings.
I don’t play a lot of NBA at all, but of the 7-8 times I played heavy for me ($50-$150 in a night), 3 (4 including Durant) times they’ve been screwed by tip off, twice ( not including KD) 100% of my lineups.

Sitting at work with $100 in lineups, finding out Hood is out, Rose is awol, etc… makes me not want anything to do with this again. It feels cheap and dirty. And somebody somewhere knows this info which isn’t available which feels I’m being cheated too.

On the other hand, I have a wife, child and work. I wouldn’t play if it wasn’t for lock-in, because the base line for me wouldn’t be fair.
