No introduction necessary here. If Tiger Woods wins the 2019 Masters Tournament, EVERY user will be refunded EVERY entry fee that he or she puts into the Mega Eagle ON TOP of the regular prizes that we’re paying out.

$1M in Prizes. $15 to play. And if Tiger dons the green jacket, we’re giving you ALL of your entry fees back.

Sound simple? That’s because it is. If you enter the Eagle, you’re rooting for Tiger Woods this weekend. FanDuel is not (even though we are, we’re golf fans).

Thinking the volunteer that slide tackled Tiger from behind is a FD undercover

That’s what I thought, looked like he was playing a little better than they thought he might. Probably should bring some private security tomorrow.

My assumption is that FD wants Tiger to win. It’s great publicity for them and I assume they took out some sort of insurance policy.

So FDs terms and conditions states that vouchers are not eligible for this promotion.

If tiger wins..are my 120…15 mega eagle tickets valued at 1800 refundable?

From my experience, assuming FD did anything with a logical, reasoned plan is a mistake.

In all honestly though I’m not sure how they’d view it as great publicity after the fact, or at least, how it helps them…
The promo was meant to take advantage of the public’s interest/faith in Tiger and fill this tournament. The tourneys up and running so they’ve already passed their desired goal.
I guess the way to spin it forward would be (if Tiger won) to continue to offer such promos. People will see it’s happened before so they may be enticed to keep pressing their luck and it can allow FD to fill larger GPP’s…but that would be assuming they had an insurance partner providing reasonable fees. I’d imagine if they took out a hedge on this Tiger promo it would have cost them quite a bit.

My assumption is that vouchers and tickets are different. At least I hope so.

It’s an easy write from the insurer’s perspective—they can look up the Vegas odds and they know exactly what FD would be out in fees if Tiger won. He was 14:1; I’m guessing they could have bought the coverage for around $100k. Whether they’d bother depends on their cash position—I don’t know if they’re big enough to want to self-insure $1M+.

You have to remember that Goslings also sponsored this thing too and the loss wouldn’t be that substantial to them.

Tickets are very different than vouchers. Vouchers were clearly excluded. Tickets are clearly not excluded and are no different than any other entry. Entries via tickets will certainly get the refund.

That’s good news. My bankroll could use it.

And now I can start chasing tickets for the next major!

As long as each of your individual entries were paid, or won through a ticket, you’ll receive an a refund for each entry/ticket. takes 48 hours
