I understand that FD’s rules specifically say that punts blocked for TDs do not count, but I was wondering if a Fanduel rep could give the rationale behind that rule? Because on the surface it makes no sense, the special teams unit is creating a turnover and taking it in for a TD. What if they partially block the punt, it goes down the field a bit and then a guy catches it and runs it back?

I’m not asking to be given extra points for the Texans today. Just wondering why they decided on this particular rule.

This is crazy. I have the Viking’s D

May have to check out DrafKing – they give points for block TD return

I have Minnesota in 5 FFFC superqualifiers – cant wait to lose 70K because of this.

    Really?

  • iconfantasyJoe

Can we get Bob Rogers to make a change.org petition for this? :)

I’m doing the same. Had I known that certain TDs wouldn’t count just because FD didn’t feel like it, I would’ve never signed up in the first place. I have Vikings D right now and that 12 points is costing me 13,000 spots.

  • drewfussmania

Fanduel’s response to this is crap. They should count. If the blocked punt gets points, you are insinuating that the play is worthy of points, yet when the SOB runs it back for a TD….nothing?…Kind of like playing a 6 to 5 blackjack table…you go somewhere else.

  • merkjob

Late to the party here but discovering that having the Minnesota D in all my leagues today with two blocked punts for tds doesn’t get me jack. Thanks fan duel for a ridiculous rule. Gonna cost me hundreds if not thousands

  • namegoeshere

Not to mention that every single fantasy league I’ve ever played in has counted these TDs.

  • jigandreel

A huge aargh for me as well. I have them in at least 5 Super Qualifiers

  • merkjob

It’s moronic. Yes we realize that blocked punts for tds won’t normally affect outcomes but why keep a rule in place that is clearly wrong. Time for draft kings

  • egomaniac247

Well this is certainly garbage. I have the Vikings DST today (11/30) and they have 2 blocked punts for TD’s.

Sure I guess I should have read the rules to see this but who in their right mind does not count those points in fantasy football?

Looks like it’s draft kings next year. This is ridiculous.

  • zhahn7

A fanduel rep said that “punt block tds are essentially a fluke event” earlier in the forum.. Then why would you give points for a punt block?

Next year ? I’m done with them – withdrawing and signing up for Draft Kings for the late games

  • drewfussmania

all kinds of defensive touchdowns getting points today…ya know, except for the ones where the defense blocked a punt and scored, because, well, just because.

Exactly. And I would bet that a higher percentage of blocked punts result in TDs than fumble recoveries or interceptions. So, if FD is going to stick with the fluke play argument, well interceptions that result in TDs occur less often as a percentage, than blocked punts. Maybe FD should be consistent and not allow any defensive TDs to count. That would make more sense than what they are doing now.

  • drewfussmania

They’ve screwed up and they know it. But will they admit it?

Same here. Don’t care if they change it, I’m leaving.

Yea, I might be too…although I’m down to $18 lol, I’ll probably just blow it on one more match up and be done with them.

You could withdraw your money. I have nothing in the account, pending these lineups of course. I’m going to sign up for DK right now. Honestly, when I looked at scoring I saw return TDs counted as 6 so I naturally included punt block RETURN TDs in with that. If I had known, I never would’ve registered.

  • merkjob

It was only a matter of time before it bit them in the ass. That they waited and waited and never changed a ridiculous rule is on them.
Signing up for draftkings now….I keep getting an error message that the email provided isn’t in the correct format???Anyone know about this? ??

  • SteinerLJ15

lol seriously, I don’t believe anybody will quit playing fanduel because of this. If you are a skilled player this rule actually benefits you. Draftkings salaries are better for the unskilled players so maybe it is better for you to play on Draftkings.

  • iconfantasyJoe

    Lets go, keep it goin.

Post more of your Vikings horror stories.

Nobody ever claimed they were a skilled player here SteinerLJ15. Please explain how this rule benefits you so called “skilled players”, and why it doesn’t affect you when you play on draftkings? Do you plan around rules like this? Are you really that “skilled”?

Not to mention, you’d think a skilled player wouldn’t want a bunch of unskilled players to leave.

  • egomaniac247

Yea, l have a feeling if steinerLJ15 was to lose real $$ by 5 points because 2 DST TD’s didn’t count he would be singing a different tune.
