I really wish there was a way to see all the entries without going page by page by page. is there not any type of file they can add so you can see who has what and where. I get carpel tunnel clicking

I just won a ticket (brag alert) and I don’t have a massive bankroll. I believe that if you are diligent in your research, take advantage of the great content RG provides, and don’t play out of your means, you will eventually reap the rewards. Thanks to everyone here at RG that provides content and insight. I wouldn’t be able to attend my first live final without it. Hope to see a bunch of you in Vegas!

    Congrats man!

    good post, this is ridiculous

  • Towerboi

The entries are listed being worth $103k. $3k for travel expenses, $20k min payout, where’s the other $80k of value?

  • Towerboi

I can’t figure out what’s in the package that makes it worth $103k. 3k in travel expenses, a 20k min payout, what does the remaining $80k in value consist of?

  • WilliamDeBrigham

the chance to win the top prize is rest of value

  • jhfc

    • 2015 FanDuel WFFC Finalist

If I’m not mistaken, the $100k is the value of the entry. It’s essentially a $12MM guaranteed, 120 person GPP.

  • Towerboi

That can’t be right. There must be more. You pay the taxes on the prize pack value. I don’t want to pay the taxes on a $100k prize pack if I walked away with $23k.

According to fanduel support, you only pay taxes on money that actually hit your fanduel account and not the full package. Can a fanduel rep please confirm that? Cuz I definitely won a lot less this year from, live finals than the cost of the packages added up together.

  • footballfplyer55567

Props to FD for a much better payout structure.

I guess this makes sense. I think you and jhfc are right. Kinda misleading when you win a $103k prize but walk with $23k. Don’t get me wrong, I’d be happy with either.

I don’t know why this is so hard to understand. You are not winning $103,000. You win a ticket to the live final, which has a value of $100,000. That ticket ultimately turns into a payout of somewhere between $20k and $3M. You only pay taxes if you make a profit for the year. This includes all of your play on FD, not just the live final. Also, the trip package valued at $3,000 will count toward your winnings.

Say, for example, you win a profit of $2,000 on FD in 2015 (not including the live final). You then qualify for the live final, and end up finishing last for $20,000, plus the $3000 trip package. FanDuel will send you a 1099-MISC stating that you won a profit of $25,000. That is what your tax liability will be.

a fanduel rep? like someone that represents the company….like the people that work in their support??

but yeah essentially when you win the 100K package you have 100K winnings but then you “pay” 100K to enter the contest and so whatever you win in the live final is what you pay taxes on (plus value of the trip which i think is 3K)

So pumped can’t wait to fly home and compete for the big money…hotel is where the winter meetings took place this past year I believe

  • sharksfansd

Excellent choice in selecting San Diego! Although this being my home for the last 18 years does make me bias.

  • Olhausen

San Diego, my original home town for 26 years! Nice weather with tons of hot women Looking to suck your bankroll dry.

  • realdeals

I’d much rather go to SD than Vegas. Born and raised in Vegas than lived in SD for many years. My fav city.

Nice start! Think Three’s Company was Santa Monica though, but Simon & Simon was a San Diego based TV show from that same era.

Back to your list, add the Gaslamp Quarter and Coronado.

  • JEFFRAMBO

Gaslamp/East Village, North Park/South Park, Pacific Beach, Coronado, Little Italy… all depends on your tastes.

And we are neck-in-neck (-in-neck) with Denver and Portland each year for being the brewery capital of the U.S., so good beer is to be found from all ends of the county.

If anyone needs advice on sights and places to see, let me know what you’re into and I’ll point you in the right direction. Same goes for anyone needing help around town for whatever reason once you’re here. I live 5 minutes away from where the event will be held so just shoot me a PM.

You are correct. HOWEVER: the main character, Jack Tripper, was from San Diego. ;-)

Only go there for the Top Gun lore factor. The food itself is horrible. But it is right across the street from the Manchester Grand, so you have that working for you.
