    They have a link at the top to click for daily probable starting pitchers. Is there a way to include your own custom report for the days probables or do you have type in each day all the starters?

  • danehalleen

    If you copy the filter in the url (&filter=&players=p2017-04-06) into your custom report you can use that to have the probable starters for each day

    I seem to be blind because I can’t find the Probables Leaderboard on the Fangraphs site. I saw an article from a couple years ago on smartfantasybaseball.com discussing this, and they had a screenshot showing the link for it — but the current site doesn’t have the same layout.

    So where is that link??? thanks!

    Yea they changed the layout. Very frustrating. It was nice to just click the probables section on the upper right. Now you have to hover the mouse over the scores tab.

    Worst comes to worst, you can always manually type the starting pitchers names in “add a player” for a custom player list. Should only take a couple minutes.

    Somebody’s going to have to send a screen shot on how to do this. I always just type them out manually.

    Holy crap Dave just showed me how to do this. Between not having to type in names and having a drive thru Subway 5 minutes from my house, I just got an extra 30 minutes per day.

    Haha yeah for sure, I just started using Fangraphs and had found their probable starters chart so I figured there had to be a way to filter your custom reports by probables. Sure enough there it was in the url.

    If any of you are still looking for fangraph daily starter spreadsheet help , I just put one together through google docs that automatically uploads the next days probables and builds you a spreadsheet with all the data you might need. I can try to put together easy instructions.

  • panters

    PETERFT73: I would like to see the instructions. Would the BvP splits be included with this? Thank you.

    If you want to bookmark it and have it auto-populate today’s date put this in the URL field of your bookmark.

    javascript:function url() { var date = new Date(); var y = date.getFullYear(); var m = date.getMonth() 1; if(m < 10){m = ‘0’ + m;} var d = date.getDate(); if(d < 10){d = ‘0’ + d;} var date = y + ““ + m + “” + d; return ‘http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=c,13,122,6,43,44,47,48,49,46,51,40,221,222,223,36,120,113,37,121,38,42&season=2017&month=0&season1=2014&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=p’ date +’&sort=4,a&page=1_50,d;/’} window.open(url(),”_self”);

    You can change the URL in it to filter what you want to see once you have that set up on the site (these are just what I use). Just make sure the &players=p’+ date+’ is in there rather than the actual date.

    EDIT: Wasn’t sure how that would be formatted in the forum but make sure that strike through isn’t in there.

    What that guy said….
    Seriously, I know very little about all of this stuff. But this is the link;

    http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=p2017-05-26

    I think I’m actually preferring to just use this link (adjust date on end obviously) because my big problem was having to manually input the day’s starters one by one. Once I hit this link and I have them all in front of me – I think I prefer to stay within the website itself so I can look at all my different splits, etc.
    My email is petertaranovich@gmail.com if you send me an email I’ll open up the actual spreadsheet to you so you can see for yourself.

  • Jvanspro

    If your importing you could just have a cell with the current date and have the end of the link reference the cell. Super easy and doesn’t require daily labor
