Started on fantasy aces a week ago for MLB as a NYer. How come more NY’ers arent playing on this site? The gpps are tiny, i figured since this was the only option left people would be rushing to this site and GPPS would be filled 100 times over. Other than opening day i havent seen more than a 600 man gpp….Is this bigger than normal? Will it pick up and entries increase? Feel like ive gone back in time 3 years and am playing at draftstreet(not a bad thing) Thoughts?

From what I know a good number of people do not know about FantasyAces being available. I can tell that not that many NY’ers are playing just due to the available cash games. It should be more I agree.

Also agree. Amazing site. Great point structure, a utility spot, 2 sps, solid salary. And that’s leaving out the best part of low rake, and essentially rakeback is their promo. So much better then DKs FPP program, especially after their ridiculous change in policy. GUYS PLAY ACES!!!

I’m a NY’er playing there, been a decent first week. Wish there were more cash games available though, but I can see where that’s tough if the traffic isn’t there.

I have the same desire, bigger 50/50s. But I definitely enjoy playing there, hopefully more NYers sign up and they can make that happen

  • Defjux41

Agreed. I’ve had such a good experience playing there so far that I will most definitely continue to do so even if DK and FD come back soon. It’s a quality site.

Love it on Aces. Playing there alot this MLB season

Nothing but positive reviews it blows my mind how a site with rakeback, 9-10% rake, great scoring and roster construction, doesn’t get more attention.

  • pootnami

fellow NYer here. love Aces. Plus, there app should be out soon. That will probably bring people as well.

I certainly hope so. Traffic is the one downside to the site. Everything else is a positive. Hopefully some more NYers head their way, as well as people fed up with absurd rake, ties on FD, and the fpp cut on do.

Have greatly enjoyed Aces. By far the best customer support in the industry.

  • hotpants

They also remove players from the player pool after GPPs have filled – I’m not sure if they email people that already have those players rostered.

They regularly have extremely top-heavy GPPs with 1st place taking 25% of the prizepool, and the top 4-5 finishers receiving >50% of the total payouts.

Their GPPs almost always fill early.

    They can do much better.

  • maxeernst

From NYC here, have been on Aces since the news came out re: DK/FD and have enjoyed it.

Note: You can create your own cash games from the lobby. I imagine they will fill quickly.

This just isn’t true. Every post you have seems to just be negative without any evidence or reasoning behind it. Aces doesn’t randomly remove people from the player pool. stop. As far as top heavy pay outs go, that’s also just not true. The top 20% in gpps generally cash. The top prize in todays line drive takes 15% of the prize pool. It’s a much flatter and less top heavy pay out structure then DK or FD, but thanks lol

I love playing there, but their game selection has a long way to go. I play mostly at the $0.25-$0.50 level and it is really hard to justify playing there when DK offers so much more in that range.

  • Youtubekid12

I love playing there being a nyer and being the only option I won’t complain lol at this point with all that’s going on ill be happy with what I can get.

    It just is true….

Just yesterday, they removed the pitchers from the Nationals game about 45 minutes to an hour before GPPs locked. I understand that is not totally “random” (your word, not mine), as the game was postponed, but they did remove players from the player pool once users had already entered teams. Aces did “remove people from the player pool. stop”… Oddly enough, they didn’t remove hitters from that game.

Yesterday’s early line drive awarded 25% of the prize pool to first place. About another 25% to 2nd and 3rd combined.

They also haven’t even paid out yesterday’s early only MLB contests yet.

I understand that you love Aces, and want more people to play there. I get it… But these are all facts about Aces.

****BONUS POSITIVITY***** I like their entry limits

It took two minutes to go into a early gpp from yesterday and see that Joe Ross was on teams…So obviously he wasn’t removed.

You’re basing your summation of their gpps on 1 GPP, on a short slate. If you bothered to do the math and check most gpps on most slates, you’ll see that’s not even close to the case. If you truly think Aces has more top heavy gpps then FD or DK, you’re lost. Go do the math on the gpps for today on all 3 sites, please. FA standard appears to be, 20% of the pool gets paid, 15% to the top. That’s an extremely flat payout structure compare to the other two.

  • Youtubekid12

I’m on the site now and non of the gpps that I’m looking at right at this moment don’t have the top 1st taking 25%. The line drive today has a 4K tourney with top taking 600. Not 25% .

  • hotpants

I said they were removed from the player pool, not from teams that had already selected him. I was building teams at the time it happened, and noticed that the “P” – pitcher list had shrunk. I clicked the Nats game specifically, and pitchers specifically, and there were none listed. I could still choose hitters from the game.

Not based on 1 GPP, that’s just the one I referenced…. Tonight’s Slam Dunk for instance – 24.5% of the prize pool to first place. I’m sure you/we can find others if you really want to…

As I said, he was removed after users had already selected teams. Not sure if those users were contacted via email.

Correct. Today’s all day Line Drive has a better payout structure. The late Line Drive – back to 25% for first place

It is not every GPP that pays 25% to first place, but I personally don’t think they need to make any tournaments that top-heavy

Dude!!! Save it for someone who cares!!! Of all the sites, you’re choosing Aces to bash???? The only site that stayed in NY, has fantastic customer service, and flat payouts on Gpps. You must be bored bro!! Crawl out if ur mom’s basement and get some sunshine today!!! Seems like you need it.

If you don’t care, why take the time to make some stupid comment about a mother’s basement and sunshine?

I just don’t see the need for GPPs that pay out 25% to first place on any site, not just Aces. The fact that Aces hasn’t pulled out of NY yet doesn’t change that… Since when is constructive criticism considered “bashing”? Don’t be so sensitive “dude/bro”….

Off to church with Mom. Boy, this sunshine will be great! Everything is rainbows and lollipops on Aces. Good day!

Im a NYer thats been on aces for a couple weeks now and its been good. Not the most user friendly, could use an app. Global edits not as easy (hello miami washington ppd!). not as easy to just quickly look and see how im doing on any given day (the way the dk and FD have something that basically shows you right away how much you entered and how much youre winning without having to actually look at each contest). Dosent organize my contests in any particular way from what I can tell, probably just in order of what i entered, as opposed to by lineup, or type of contest, or entry fee even. But this is just nitpicking. Frankly these things could be more so me just not being used to the site as much as anything else. Its great to be able to play. Larger contests and bigger 5050’s and such would be cool but thats just because not as many people are on there. not hating, like I said im enjoying it and its great to be able to play. Bankroll tracker is great. LU construction is great as well.

Im out of town for work for 3 weeks here so I may dabble back on DK during that time also and see how I stack up with similar lineups on the different sites.

  • hammersticks84

For those who mentioned they hadent payed out yesterdays contests yet I did email about that and They responded within 20 minutes and had me paid out. smaller company not surprising things may take a little longer, I just was confused because I didnt think I had gone 0’fer
