Is anyone else having trouble getting paid out by Fantasy Up? I submitted a withdrawal request for some of my funds over a month ago but I still haven’t been paid, despite the fact that I have exchanged many emails with them They keep promising that funds will be paid out shortly but then they go radio silent until I email them again.

Does anyone have any recommendations about what I should do if they continue to fail to pay? I would prefer not to take legal action because of the cost and inconvenience (and because up until now they’ve provided a good service) but at this stage I don’t know what other options I have.

Admin Note: This situation was eventually resolved when FantasyUp player accounts were purchased by the iTeam Network. Gabe Hunterton’s post is copied below. You can also read it on page 30 of this thread:

    iTeamGabe’s (Gabe Hunterton, CEO) post:

I’m happy to be the bearer of good news. As Dustin from LSR reported yesterday, iTEAM Network has executed an agreement with FantasyUp. When we heard about the situation a couple weeks ago, we decided to do something about it.
We announced today an agreement with the former owners of FantasyUp to acquire the www.fantasyup.com domain and customer data. Paying back FantasyUp players was the key component in this deal. No one affiliated with the original FantasyUp has any involvement whatsoever moving forward.
After you activate your account, your funds will be immediately available for withdrawal, although we do hope you give us a chance to earn your trust and loyalty by playing in our contests. We think you will appreciate our first class customer support and our unwavering commitment to game integrity. To welcome you to the new FantasyUp.com, we’re putting on a series of overlay contests exclusively for FantasyUp players, beginning with the “FantasyUp – Fresh Start” contest; that features a $1,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool, with a Maximum of 1,100 entries and a buy in of just ONE CENT!
While you’re playing, take a look at our unique software features like our patented “Sweat List” which shows you not only who you are rooting for, but just as importantly, who you are rooting against. Since launching five months ago, we’ve made significant investments and built our software development team to over 40 full time employees. You can expect major product development and innovation from us throughout 2016.
Getting the site up-and-running and paying back players is a complex challenge involving technical, practical and regulatory hurdles affecting thousands of player accounts. We ask for your continued patience as we work together through this process, particularly if you reside in one of the banned jurisdictions.
We have just begun the process of sending an email to all users who have an existing account balance.
For further information about our agreement with FantasyUp and how it affects you, we are regularly updating the FAQ page at www.fantasyup.info. In addition, you can email us anytime at support@fantasyup.com.

FYI – Fantasy up is back to not paying out again. They say PayPal has a fantasy sports policy now?

After receiving feedback here, I ended up calling FantasyUp support. They did not answer and I left a voicemail. The following Monday, August 17, I received a reply via email stating that my message had been received and my check would be sent that week. It has now been a month and still no sign of my check. I have called 5 times and left voicemails over the past couple weeks and they have never picked up or gotten back to me. The amount I am owed is over $14K so I fear this may be part of the reason I have not been paid.

At this point I think I may be forced to consider other options. Has anyone experienced similar difficulty with another site? I am afraid of the costs associated with hiring a lawyer, but am out of alternatives.

Any update on this? Also, why on earth would you need $14k on a site with such few games?

Don’t see any changes to Paypal’s policy. They require fantasy sports sites to obtain pre-authorization with them..my guess is that Fantasy Up did not due so and it just got caught, or they had so many complaints paypal restricted the account. Or they are just full of it…

They’re giving me the same runaround. Not sure what to think of these guys right now. I’d be careful if you are considering playing here, though if their paypal is “down” and you can still deposit, that’s kind of a red flag. I’m guessing everyone is locked out of deposits and withdraws for the time being which means nobody else can get caught up in this thing, but they are taking their time in replying to my emails and have come up with an excuse for why they can’t send me a check or a paypal transaction, so I’m kind of at a loss for what to do at this point. I guess now I just have to wait and hope they are being honest.

I actually just ran into the same problem. I gave these guys another chance for a very small deposit because they were back to no rake. Their NHL action is non existant this year. Requested my full balance of a couple hundread dollars and recieved the same “paypal doesn’t allow daily fantasy sites.” Response. Through a lot of back and forth, they sent me a screenshot of the e-mail from Paypal. Which, honestly could’ve been easily fabricated. Monday, they finally sent me a picture of my check and said it was in the mail. They were too cheap to meet my request and splurge for the $3 for certified mail or the $0.75 to pay for electronic tracking. I’m crossing my fingers I actually get the check.

I live in Nevada and had a small balance on FantasyUp when playing here became illegal. Tried to withdraw and FantasyUp said I couldn’t, as DFS was illegal in Nevada.

    LMAO

Fortunately my balance was small and only money I had won by reinvesting some freeroll winnings.

They are a shady outfit for sure.

Good luck to those trying to withdraw.

  • JustDFSin

Deposit your money and never get it back. Sounds like fantasy up is run by some women

  • Tolpeko

Don’t worry guys, they have something BIG in the works.

  • Jcb890

I like their emails I get week-to-week about their huge freerolls… which NEVER run because they have to meet a minimum amount of participants. I tried explaining to them that “Guaranteed” games are games which are guaranteed to run, regardless of number of entrants, but they just told me to get my friends to join so the games would run. What a joke.

If Rotogrinders isn’t willing to review or be an affiliate for a DFS site you already know they aren’t on the up and up. FantasyUp was hoping their platform was going to be bought out by Yahoo or Pokerstars and now they don’t know what to do.

They are sending emails out saying they wont pay until after the new year with some ludicrous excuses. I have funds with these guys and I am starting to get very worried about them. The owner of the site is a fairly prominent DFS player who lives in the Denver area and is active on social media and had a lot of success playing at fanduel. Many people know who he is. Not sure why he is trying to slow play people but I am not thrilled with the situation.

To this point, I have refrained from offering my opinion about FantasyUp. For those of you that have played on the site, you probably recognize my user name and recognize that I’ve given the site plenty of action during the past 12 months.

As much as anyone else, I was impacted by this summer’s payout delays, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Customer service was always excellent and, in the end, they’ve historically paid out everything that I’ve requested. I was hoping that this summer’s sequence of events would turn out to be a simple blip on the radar.

With that being said, I am very glad that I’ve withdrawn most of my profits from this site and am playing with my smallest bankroll since last Spring. FantasyUp has scaled their games down CONSIDERABLY since this summer’s BIG news never came to fruition. There may be two dozen regular NBA players, in particular, on this site, but that’s about it. To be honest, it’s kinda sad because I had high hopes for this site. Playing on a site that’s limited to a couple dozen users isn’t exactly my dream DFS site.

The news that they’re delaying payouts until the New Year is, to say the least, disturbing. I guess this helps to explain why my relatively modest withdrawal request of $400 on November 24th hasn’t been processed. To be honest, I had forgotten about this request until I just checked my account and saw that my withdrawal request was still pending. They didn’t send me any notification about a delay and – I guess – are simply waiting for me to ask about it before giving me the excuse concerning Paypal. That isn’t my definition of good customer service.

With delays pending until next year, I can’t help but contemplate the fact that I’m probably going to receive a 1099 for 2015 that includes profits that I can’t withdraw until 2016. Simply put – that isn’t right.

For the first time since I started playing on FantasyUp, I couldn’t recommend that a new user join this site. I hope that they are able to turn things around, but this is the 2nd major strike against them. If/when this gets cleared up, I fear that a 3rd strike will prove to be their ultimate undoing.

  • Jcb890

Games listed as “GUARANTEED” that don’t run unless they hit a certain number of participants, otherwise they cancel… is that even legal?

  • carp

Frustrated as well. It has been a roller-coaster ride for sure. I was able to string a couple great weeks together only to find out I am unable to withdrawl. I am still owed 2k from Ballr and now this. Keeping my fingers crossed that this so called great DFS player wins again so he can pay us.

I am going to request a withdrawal on Monday for 2k. If they give me the runaround or offer some excuses about the new year, paypal, or any other kind of nonsense I am going to go directly to the requisite authorities regarding the owner of fantasy up whose name I will not post on here but is easy enough to find with a simple google search. Nobody deserves to have their funds held hostage by a quasi ponzi scheme and fantasy up is going to pay me and the rest of its players or face consequences.

  • Myprimetime

I don’t play FantasyUp but hoping you guys get money out. What was their explanation for holding payouts until the new year?

  • deactivated84892

I had a nightmare experience with them the first day I joined a few months back. Immediate red flags and never looked back.

I hope everyone gets their money. Writing was on the wall for this company in my limited experience with this site, slimeball empty promises and horrible customer service.

Does the excuse really matter? There is only one reason to delay, the money is not there.

I hope you all get paid but if I had to place a bet it would be on the don’t side. Do yourselves a favor and do not be like every schmuck ever taken in a ponzi scheme with the “they always paid me in the past”, “I knew it didn’t look good but I hoped they would make good eventually”, “ they assured me it was just a problem with ‘x’ and I would get my money on ‘y’”.

The money is gone. The only way you get paid now is if he can steal it from someone else and then you risk having them clawback the money later when the cards finally do fall. You need to contact authorities and get that shitshow shutdown because if there is any money left you might have a chance at getting some back before he sucks the rest of it out the back door.

    Good luck to you all.

  • depalma13

So they were able to get enough deposits to cover the last round of withdrawals, but the money has now finally run out. Good luck to everyone, but you should have bailed the last time this ponzi started failing.

  • DCoop328

This is actually showing every sign of a ponzi scheme. Every single one. How has this company not been reported to the proper authorities yet.

  • Riggins33

So this is essentially a Ponzi scheme right?

I still wish them the best, and hope they bounce back. I like the setup to play on daily. I made withdrawals of $400 on Nov 3rd + Nov.4th ($800 total) and they came VERY quickly.

  • LarryLegend33

Good lord, why does anyone that is aware of this thread still have money on this site?
