Is anyone else having trouble getting paid out by Fantasy Up? I submitted a withdrawal request for some of my funds over a month ago but I still haven’t been paid, despite the fact that I have exchanged many emails with them They keep promising that funds will be paid out shortly but then they go radio silent until I email them again.

Does anyone have any recommendations about what I should do if they continue to fail to pay? I would prefer not to take legal action because of the cost and inconvenience (and because up until now they’ve provided a good service) but at this stage I don’t know what other options I have.

Admin Note: This situation was eventually resolved when FantasyUp player accounts were purchased by the iTeam Network. Gabe Hunterton’s post is copied below. You can also read it on page 30 of this thread:

    iTeamGabe’s (Gabe Hunterton, CEO) post:

I’m happy to be the bearer of good news. As Dustin from LSR reported yesterday, iTEAM Network has executed an agreement with FantasyUp. When we heard about the situation a couple weeks ago, we decided to do something about it.
We announced today an agreement with the former owners of FantasyUp to acquire the www.fantasyup.com domain and customer data. Paying back FantasyUp players was the key component in this deal. No one affiliated with the original FantasyUp has any involvement whatsoever moving forward.
After you activate your account, your funds will be immediately available for withdrawal, although we do hope you give us a chance to earn your trust and loyalty by playing in our contests. We think you will appreciate our first class customer support and our unwavering commitment to game integrity. To welcome you to the new FantasyUp.com, we’re putting on a series of overlay contests exclusively for FantasyUp players, beginning with the “FantasyUp – Fresh Start” contest; that features a $1,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool, with a Maximum of 1,100 entries and a buy in of just ONE CENT!
While you’re playing, take a look at our unique software features like our patented “Sweat List” which shows you not only who you are rooting for, but just as importantly, who you are rooting against. Since launching five months ago, we’ve made significant investments and built our software development team to over 40 full time employees. You can expect major product development and innovation from us throughout 2016.
Getting the site up-and-running and paying back players is a complex challenge involving technical, practical and regulatory hurdles affecting thousands of player accounts. We ask for your continued patience as we work together through this process, particularly if you reside in one of the banned jurisdictions.
We have just begun the process of sending an email to all users who have an existing account balance.
For further information about our agreement with FantasyUp and how it affects you, we are regularly updating the FAQ page at www.fantasyup.info. In addition, you can email us anytime at support@fantasyup.com.

Dan Ziernicki is quite active on twitter and appears to be quite active in the dfs world in general. Wouldnt be too hard to track him down if fantasy up fails to pay.

An unfortunate reminder that these sites can really do whatever they please.

Not allowing players to withdraw until a corporate deal is finalized is a very questionable practice, and I’d be lying if I told you it didn’t make me wonder what other questionable decisions this company may have made along the way.

DFS players are very lucky that the big two have seemingly run their companies with integrity and appear to care ONLY about growth.

Growth? Sure. Integrity? Wow, Have you seen FD’s salaries? Also, scripts. :)

On a slightly less serious level, I will say that in terms of payouts, the big two are fantastic.

If you are wondering how things are going over there, you might want to keep an eye on the international terminal at the Denver airport. If customers lose money, people are going to jail (or Central America, if they get lucky)

It never ceases to amaze me when situations like this arise, and the rep’s response to try and straighten things out actually makes it worse.

I would venture to say that there is a good chance that they have been using deposits as operating capital. They have been taking no rake for how long? Sending out ridiculous bonuses for how long? The only money they have belongs to you. I am sure they were trying to secure a deal over the past couple of months but their books look like shit and that is why they are getting no takers. This dude is a known liar (Contended to a reporter that he was in some FanDuel 2 milly live contest that they flatly disputed) and it would not surprise me that he is lying now about the money being in escrow. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, I would be blowing these guys up (not litterally) if I had money in their scam.

Outside of sites stating they keep players deposits separate is there an actual way to have this verified?Seems like the only way you find out they were lying is after it is too late.

They’ve been charging rake since April 1.

Remember when FantasyUp allegedly allowed people to deposit from states/countries their TOS said were ineligible to play for cash games, but then would not let them withdraw their winnings?

The Joe Ross shadiness turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Got pissed at the site Tuesday and withdrew half my account balance before this thread started and the real run on the bank. Have another deposit request pending, but I imagine there’s a long line in front of me and Support has not responded to my inquiry.

Guys, everybody needs to calm down. As soon as Fantasy Up closes their deal with the Nigerian prince, everything will be fine.

    Check your credit reports.

You may be a big part of the future funding.

  • LSRDustin

Seems like if this really big deal is happening, and if you really can’t allow players to withdraw, you should 1. shut down deposit methods and/or 2. suspend all operations on the site until you can.

FantasyUp, you really need to suspend deposits during this mess.

We’re all rooting for this to be true, for your deal to close, and for everyone to get paid out. For now don’t make matters worse by continuing to take in deposits.

I would also update any text saying “Withdrawals processed quickly” with something explaining the actual situation.

+1, I’ve never played on FantasyUp but allowing deposits at this time is completely absurd. It is enough for me to never consider playing on this site even if things end up stable.

Meanwhile, I received an email on Wednesday night asking me to deposit at FantasyUp:

    “Largest Deposit Bonus in DFS!

Get up to $1,000 free with a 300% Deposit Bonus!

FantasyUp offers the largest deposit bonus in daily fantasy sports. Get up to $1,000 free with a 300% Deposit Bonus. FantasyUp also offers up to 25% earnback with our rewards program. The more you play, the more you earn. New to daily fantasy sports? Try our free tournaments that payout real cash prizes! Play Now!”

Very troubling, indeed…good luck to those of you with money in your FantasyUp accounts.
