I greatly appreciate all the kind words people have had for Feud and for me personally today. I’ll generally be letting others distribute details as they become available, but a quick comment about the “why” parts.

We certainly weren’t “In trouble” by any normal definition of the phrase, we had plenty of money. But like every other DFS site in the world, we simply weren’t profitable. And especially when you’re a publicly held company, if you aren’t profitable you need a plan to become so and that plan, in the current climate, was difficult to envision. The uncertain legal and regulatory landscape, especially with flat registration fees, made the situation more difficult to predict. The only way a company of our size can become profitable long term is to keep spending money to grow the site to a point where you can pull back the stick on growth a bit and have the income from contests be equal or greater to the overhead. That was the plan last year, and it worked extremely well, the company basically quadrupled it’s revenue that year; we ran the $500k MLB Championship and a $1 Million NFL Championship. But with the events of last NFL season and all that’s come since then, the path ahead became much more treacherous and difficult to predict. It costs a decent chunk of change to keep the site going and rather than continue to expose itself to that burn, our parent company made a very reasonable decision to cease operations in what is basically the only part of Gaming Nation that isn’t turning a profit.

Of course I’m not happy about it; it’s been a very rewarding three and a half years for me and I’m extremely proud of the work the team has done. I do feel to a certain extent that we were a victim of the excesses of others. But I’m a huge fan of the staff at Fantasy Aces and the product they offer, and have very high hopes they’ll offer a fine home to our players of whom I have grown so fond, which is the most important thing. For those of you who chose to spend some of your time or money with us, I hope it was as much fun for you as it was for me.

Thanks Eddie for the work you did. Miss you already. Peace out

Wow Eddie, how refreshingly straightforward in an industry that usually, uh, isn’t.. Kudos and thanks for the post.

Terrible news, I will miss Feud PGA. Aces PGA is my least favorite PGA product as their scoring setup is such that a 5/6 virtually never beats a 6/6 (very little drama for 5/6 LUs in any GPPs – you pretty much are locked into a small range).

I am gonna miss the site /loved the customer service and the game types over there. Hope you bounce back on your feet quickly Eddie

Feud was my favorite site as well as top of the line Customer Service. Can’t say it enough I’m gonna miss it!

Thanks a ton Eddie and Feud, your snake drafts became better than Draftstreet’s ever were. I’m not sure what the world has against SNAKE drafts, but I’ll spare the email to Aces about it. But if they think they are acquiring the thousands I normally spend, they can count on about $50 from me this season, it’s just another sal cap game.

    A few comments/questions.

Question: I assume money from accounts will get rolled over to FA? If so, when? Also, when will FF stop offering contests? Is this effective immediately? And will there be a PGA contest this week?

And comment: Maybe with this new acquisition, FA will be able to somewhat rebrand itself and re-create it’s website. I like the contests of FA for the most part, but the pricing structure is a little bit strange to me and the overall site functionality is sub par at best. Hopefully we’ll continue to see more improvements as time goes on!

Not surprised considering the changes we’ve seen in the space and increased regulation across other states to come. Hopeful it’s a meaningful addition to Aces since I’ve decided to continue to play there out of loyalty for staying open to NY.

Sorry to see Feud go. Easily my favorite DFS site due to their outstanding customer service and unique LU structures. Thanks to Eddie, Nolan and the rest of their team for providing a great environment.

I have question for RG…I have indefinite access to Feud incentives. Will that be transferred to Aces?

This bums me out more than any of the other buyouts we’ve seen in this industry. As a Canadian it’s sad to see the Canadian site go by the wayside. I really hoped FF would catch on and be a DFS underdog survivor.

A few have mentioned Snake Drafts and Pick’ems in here, we offer both of those game types at DraftDay, for those looking to continue playing those formats.

We also just recently released a new Tournament Credit Rewards program as well for all users.

  • inwhiterooms

I would love to give DraftDay another shot, but it’s restricted in Illinois. When will you guys be opening back up here?

This really sucks. FantasyFeud was my favorite site by far. Only site that offers pick ems, too. Aces, if you’re reading, please bring the pick em contests on board. Love doing those.

This. Please please please have pick em contests and snake drafts.

if you want me to play on aces you should really look into what made feud unique, pick ems, snakes, 3 sp, 2 qb etc.

I will check it out. Anyone here play on DraftDay? Is it a reputable place to play? Any issues with cashing out?

  • noddy

Looks like if you want to play on DraftDay you have to play against Condia.

Here’s the bigger question. Will we have any other sites beside yahoo, aces, fanduel, and draftkings this time next year?

    Bummer

Is it too late to use FF’s software over Aces?

  • bobbyrogers46

Any other sites which may feature the season long weekly salary cap redraft that FF had?

  • blimes

Wish it was the other way around Feud acquiring Aces
