Back to charging rake? This is very disappointing.

It’s been a great run, and we appreciate you playing on FantasyDraft, but now we’re thrilled to announce that our friends at Monkey Knife Fight are going to be your new home for daily fantasy.

To make the transition a little sweeter (actually a lot sweeter), Monkey Knife Fight is offering all FantasyDraft users a free $100 Full Season Contest entry. All you have to do is transfer your funds to your new or existing MKF account and make a deposit of $10 or more.

Don’t wait! This FREE $100 ticket is only available until September 7th at 12pm ET!

my issue with this is MKF is not even legal in my state (or some others)

  • jdtrey

Sad to see them go – made more money on that site than all others combined when they were actually running well. Was looking forward to NFL season but didn’t look good when they still had no NFL up a week out from the season.

We have recently opened in NY, NJ, VA, MS, AL, VT and IN in addition to our original states.

Going to miss the double flex option for NFL Lineups. Wish another site would look into adding that.

I haven’t played on MKF. Do they even offer traditional cap-based contests? Or is it still all prop based? If the latter, I don’t get what they are even acquiring from FantasyDraft other than the transfer of player account balances by default if they aren’t withdrawn from FantasyDraft. FantasyDraft was well run and tried hard, in my opinion. Sorry to see them go.

I enjoyed the alternative to Draftkings and Fanduel..similar but different..not sure if MKF is too much different for me..damn.

Unfortunately this looks like the end of my run in the DFS space. It was a fun 6ish years but now it’s just so hard to be profitable with the rake and monthly subscription costs for the tools. I had a lot of fun building lineups but I moved all of my action to the season long format this year. Hopefully, another site pops up with lower rake.

what’s this $100 NFL ticket good for?

  • Macspad70

Will miss FantasyDraft, had some big cashes over there in golf and football, but last year or so when they increased the max entries it was definitely more challenging. Anyway fun while it lasted…

A $100 bet on Monkey Knife Fight. I threw mine into a 3X more or less for a full season long for Kyler Murry and Matt Ryan passing yards. A $10 deposit for a chance to win $300 is worth the death of Fantasy Draft.

I am guessing they acquired them for the player base in hopes to generate more users to their site. If FantasyDraft was folding anyway they probably got it fairly cheap.

The website interface was a bit clunky and they had some technical issues.

Lower rake is a small incentive when top prizes are modest. And even that is offset by fantasy drafts’s flexible roster, where you didn’t have to mind positions in almost all sports. A 6 outfield mlb lineup is entirely possible on that site and no one has to play catchers.

In their NBA contests some players are 0% owned, whereas in other sites players have to pick them to make room for studs and such. That makes things difficult for small time players.

  • manBEAST

FYI the promo code is different for new users and existing users if people are having issues, mine posted right away.

  • danliebl

Just entered my $100 contest, went with Thomas and Jones under on the yards and receptions.

Also, hadnt logged into Fantasy Draft in a couple years, my $18 was taken in “inactivity fees” in July and August of this year… didnt know that was a thing.

I found that to be an advantage on FantasyDraft. All of the ownership tended to coalesce around the same plays. Small time player or not, you could get more leverage by playing a catcher because no one else was. Same in NFL with the double flex. The popular RBs were always mega chalk because you could roster up to 4 RBs. Great way to get leverage by fading a popular RB or by playing a 4-WR lineup. I liked that they tried to be a little different from the pack, but not so different that it required learning an entirely new game.

I am a new user. There was nothing that said that this only applied to existing users if that’s what you mean. I’m hoping that they are just a bit behind for new users. My deposit was accepted right away as well as my transfer and the bonus match, just not the ticket.

  • Tinderbox2014

just attempted to create a new MKF account, won’t allow me to deposit using the transfer promo code. anyone else having similar issues?

  • kujo33

Does MKF work in Canada? If I transfer do I have a play through requirement on the funds transferred? Does MKF offer traditional DFS contests?
